EDIT: The way the Treasure Hunt worked was you had to look through the various items listed on the homepage and find the bit.ly address in the Product Specs. The 11 addresses were hidden in the large amount of products listed, I got a few of the addresses myself after clicking through the products, thanks to those who also posted in the comments allowing me to update the links.

Their office is on Dandenong road. Shipping was 1 week for me using courier pigeons

    -> QQQ
I don't even know how what was going on or how this comp worked :)

But browsing the comments here …

Make users click on multiple buttons, as they search around, to unlock different items in say, a treasure chest page, from which they may add items to their cart.

You could even have pictures of the items that have not been found greyed out or partially obscured :P

Also, unlocking various clues (ie clicking on buttons) allows access to later clues. (eg if you need to go to 3 pages for clues before unlocking an item)

Probably don't push past 2 or 3 clues required to unlock an item …

Also an "item unlocked" page would be nice for each item unlocked, maybe with sound effects and a shot of the item on top of a treasure chest :P

Well my suggestion was that maybe slightly more notice could be put up about the event?

I don't think it should be made that difficult and complicated, the point is to sell the items as well in addition to the publicity.

With complicated links/functions on the website, I would forsee technical difficulties for COTD especially server timeouts!..

So keep it simple (but not too simple) and slightly more notice ( more the publicity)…

Evidently, how did the OP hear about this? I didn't receive an email, by chance I just happened to look at ozBargain at the time it was posted.

It was on catchoftheday's facebook page. Was up for atleast 10 minutes before it got posted here. Was going to post it, but was looking for the items myself.

        • Ok, thanks for that!

  • Nice special - I bought three things (the headphones, movie tickets and phillips remote) I did not need at insane prices. Clever

  • Has anyone received their's yet?

    • DOn't think they have even been sent yet.

      • +1

Nope. Not even dispatched yet. Hmmmm, wondering how hard can it be to put movie coupons in envelopes?

        • I had 3 orders, and have had notification one order has been shipped.

  • People who bought earphones from this deal might want to read this ?

its about it being fake. not sure…ppl should check it when they get it though

  • I just received my keyboard and remote. Still awaiting on movie tickets and joystick.

    • Thought the keyboards may have been delivered to some, they are certainly appearing on eBay in some numbers!

      • They are being listed on eBay for up to $79.95, although one seller has it for a more reasonable $34.00.

  • I just received the dinovo keyboard for mac. Man, this thing has some heft in it. It oozes quality.

Also, that fineprint about not working in PCs, is not true at all! I found that it works very well in fact, the application keys (calculator, browser, mail, etc..) all work, the volume buttons all work, not sure what the fuss is about. The only exception is the function keys, which unfortunately there is no lock for the fn key, which means you have to press it plus the Function key. Other than that, the alt and start keys are other way round.

    • I just jammed down the fn key with a piece of wire, instant fn key lock! (I don't use the media keys, but always use the f keys). I'm pretty sure fn doesn't actually send a keycode either, just modifies whatever f key you press too, so will see how long the battery lasts. Otherwise its pretty useless for me without direct function keys, but for 10 bux, meh, was rude not to.

Also, download SharpKeys (or similar) to remap the stuff that is missing, eg, PrntScrn and Insert to F14 and F15 keys.

Also my left CTRL key was getting stuck down. I had to remove it and bend one of the metal retainers to fix it. All good now, lovely keyboard.

  • Received the High School Musical game and microphone set today (a bargain for the microphones alone), plus the freebie joystick which I have no idea what to do with!

  • still on processing…

  • Received the joystick and movie tickets yesterday.

  • Got shipping confirmation for the tickets just now.

  • so anyone got their GPS yet? May I know what brand it is?

  • -1

just got my freebie joystick…now have no clue what to use it for…

  • I received the joystick too. Any suggestion on good games that I can use it for?

  • According to Australia Post eParcel tracking my Village movie tickets have been sitting at "MPF BULK LETTERS (PROFIT CTR)" since 16/7 and not moved since.

    :S

    • That's their center in Sunshine I believe.

      • Hmmmm, it's quicker to get an item from the UK than from just up the road at Sunshine. Go Australia Post!

  • Anyone get the "Pocket iPod/iPhone Battery Back-Up". Mine worked once and now it will not work again. Charges up fine but when I turn it on and plug it into my iPhone it will not charge it.

  • Great deal… even more great that comments are back.
