1040

Better than last time's $518.

Combine with the AMEX HN offer if you've registered for $397 (expires 30 Dec).

Or price beat in the morning @ Officeworks if you don't have Amex for $472.15 before they change the price and if they have stock.

Thanks to herbo, aznain and albert22 for the heads up.

Rose Gold doesn't appear in the options but it has its own link here. Although there's no add to card button yet.

Good price but i was able to get my local HN to price match the Officeworks 128gb price at $619 (less 2 x amex)…..so might be an option for some.

    • yeah that would be the best deal. $419 if you buy it in store with split amex. even if HN didn't match it, it'd be $497.

    • Is the AMEX offer usable more than once? Mine says claimed after one use.

      • once when total reaches at least $300 @ HN it seems. hence why you'd need a second amex to get another $100 off and split the payment.

        • Ohh, I see what you mean now.

    • I know registrations have closed a while ago but just wanted to know if 2 CCs on the same AMEX account i.e. One primary and the other supplementary card can be registered for the offer? Just for future reference.

      • yes, both cards need to be registered, individually

    • +1

Yeah thanks. I'm definitely looking at the 128gb version. Can I ask how do you go about price matching at HN. Do you call in advance to get their approval before going Instore?

        • Great. Thanks a bunch mate.
Combine with amex deals, $619 -$200 -$20 if HN are willing to split payment and accept mobile payment. Good price for iPad Air 2 128gb even if it's a rather old device

        • +2

          @Jared17:

Yeah i was relectuant cause old but price was too good to give up plus taking off gst on overseas trip end of jan was all discounts coming together.

        • @bargrin: yeah I forgotten about trs. Could still get it if I split payment between 2 Amex cards?

        • +1

          @Jared17:

should be fine as it'll still be just one GST invoice.

        • +1

          @CVonC:

Yeah i got them to give me one GST invoice with items I bought showing invoice# xx "paid" and i got another payment invoice showing multiple cards used to pay off invoice# xx…..so two invoices.

The one I show TRS is the GST paid invoice.

Plus not an issue cause all amex cards used were supplementary to mine so in reality I am paying the Gst.

  • officeworks dont seem to have the 32gbs in stock (near me anyway, WA) :(

  • +1

Excludes purchases of Miele, Falcon, NEFF, AEG, Gaggenau, ASKO, St George, Fagor, De Detrich, Elica & Apple products.

    • +1

Is that for the Amex offer?

    • I had the same question. Keep seeing this $300/$100 iPad deal but the fine print on HN website clearly said not for Apple product. Or HN just ignore it now?

      • +6

They don't know what you purchased. Discussed many times.

Since when did the Air 2 have Rose Gold?

    • +1

No rose gold only 'standard' gold and OPs Hn link to it is now 404

      • cheers guys, fixed now :)

  • With all these iPad sales methinks new models are on the way in the new year.

    • +1

The rumour is March. i wonder what performance the new model will have? These iPad Air 2 models are two years old.

      • The new rumour I'm starting is the iPad Air 3 will be rebranded the iPad VR

        • That would have to be one of the worst photoshops I've seen.

      • I'm really after the 12" Pro. But good prices for the 128gb model are hard to come by. The 32gb is just too small for me.

      • The last thing I've heard about new iPads is that they might have to postpone releasing iPad Pro lines (probably "10 inch" and above) because TSMC is having a hard time with the yield rate of their new 10nm line. So that might cause issues with A10X.

        http://www.patentlyapple.com/patently-apple/2016/12/tsmc-exp…

        • Difficult to take that seriously. Right now in the typical apple product cycle we are at "obscure reports from dubious asian media (especially digitimes) that are usually revealing manufacturing difficulties for the next hotly anticipated product". The next stage will be "reports that the next ipad will wash the dishes and keep your girlfriend happy, amongst other amazing things" that somehow never get into the final product.

        • +1

@entropysbane: TSMC is located in Taiwan, so there you go. Most rumours about Apple devices kinda come from China because, welp, a lot of things are done in China. A lot of western coverage on the rumours are, a lot of the times, from China. So I don't think the article suddenly becomes garbage because it's from Asia.

With whether that's plausible or not, TSMC had issues with 16nm finFET when they started producing them (hence why we had the whole debacle with Samsung/TSMC A9). It wouldn't be a surpise if TSMC is having a problem with 10nm finFET right now.

        • @Oversimplified: Frankly I'd be surprised if they didn't have issues, everyone one is having issues now. When Intel has to abandon their whole Tick-Tock cycle, you know the industry is in for tough times with regards to process shrinks.

        • @TheContact: Ditto. Some people were even saying that a lot of people thought current size was physically impossible so yeah. I wouldn't be too surprised if things get postponed or change midway during the manufacturing.

        • @Oversimplified: Oh, I agree. However having been a buyer of Apple products for 30 years and an avid follower of product rumours, I am also aware that there is a fair bit of deja vu for these rumours. it isn't an asian thing, but also digitimes is particularly known for dodgy reports.

Folks, I've got one more Amex deal on my card if anybody is looking for a helping hand.

I'm doing this as a favour, so NO TIMEWASTERS PLEASE.

    • I'm interested! how do i get in touch with you?

    • +1

      That's a real shame.

Of all the replies that I received except maybe one, the rest of them all wasted my time again.

I had two AMEX cards with the offer. One chap refused my offer because they were buying an iPhone and were looking to find somebody with 5 cards to split their purchases.

One user told me he wanted an iPad, then didn't reply to any of my messages. Suddenly, I get a message from him asking if I was available that afternoon. Very, very poor form.

Another user seemed very interested and asked me to 'reserve' the offers on my card while they made up their mind. After numerous messages to this user they have simply stopped replying.

Consider yourselves very lucky that I haven't named and shamed you.

It places a very bad impression of OzBargain in my mind, and these users have destroyed my trust. Needless to say I won't be doing this again. Good luck.

      • I'm just going to give it a try but Pls feel free to ignore if you are over it and undertstandably so! Or if you have no more offers to be able to give.
Yes am planning on buying from Harvey Norman tmrw and was just reading your post. Do you have any Amex offers left?
Have read your post and thought pretty generous of you and accordingly a bit surprised at the response you got. Pls don't let it stop you from trying to help others on here again, it was a very open and giving gesture.

  • I have an AE credit card>
How do I get the AMEX offer from HV?
Do I need to register before hand?

    Thanks

    • You need to enrol unfortunately it's closed already

  • Registration are now closed.

  • order online this morning … but my order is being reviewed. not sure if it will be rejected by HN if I paid by amex.

    • Mine ready for pick up. Paid by Amex too.

      • any email from Amex confirming the cashback?

edit: nvm, got my email from Amex straight away

        • i got the email for cashback. but no email for HN notifying pick up… LoL

        • @joeventus: no email from HN yet too

      • did you get the pickup email straight?

      • +1

I ordered when I made this post and still yet to get a pickup email…

  • Anyone know if this is a special price or new everyday price? I feel it's a special price but the website makes me think otherwise

    • +1

Although I'd hate to be implicated in encouraging the purchasing of an apple product… Check Pricehipster here
It has been 569 at HN according to that. Also, JB, TGG seem to be around that 569ish mark as well. So, it seems like a good deal without the AMEX, but great deal with (if you were in the market for one to begin with!)

  • Great… the tablet is now below $400 and yet the smart case is >$130

  • Went to HN and they had ipad air 2 128gb cell (only gold colour) for $824. I split it across two amex's and so it ended up costing $624. Pretty chuffed :)

  • got a gold one. thanks op

  • Need some discounts on the 128GB!

    • +1

Read the first comment on this thread ;)

      • Oops, I meant the iPad Mini!

  • The iPad pro 9.7 128gb is $947 at OW. Price match at HN split with 3 Amex gets to $647, pay with mobile payment gets to $617. Only about $220 more than the iPad Air2 128gb.

Hmmm, hard to decide which one to get. On one hand it's newer than the iPad Air 2 but not if it's worth to splash $220 more. I think both has the same RAM

  • I believe the HN offer exclude Apple products but I am not sure how they are going to audit this

  • Still haven't got my ordered "approved" :S

  • Got the 16GB version for this price :(

  • Just speaking to a friend of mine who works at HN - He said the 32GB variant is sold out VIC wide.

  • for the amex offer do you use the amex express checkout or the regular checkout for an online purchase?

  • Just picked up a gold one from Gepps X Adelaide. They only had gold colour left.

  • Just got a gold one at Chirnside. And $10 for original front cover too.
