  • Why not go for a higher amount ? Like the $75 ?

    • Cause its for the $50 card only

  • The promotional code you entered is not valid.

    • Starts in few hours

      • Ahh, preoccupied. Cheers for that.

  • Where'd you find this deal/get this code? Can you get a usd$100 card for usd$70, or only the $50 variant?

    • twitter feed

Only applies to the $50 card. Probably to restrict the amount of gift card value you can buy

      • Cheers - Is it one $50 purchase per account?

  • Can this gift card be used outside of US?
There was a another AirBnB gift card promo about 2-3 weeks ago on OzB but it can't be used outside of the US.

Funds do not expire. No fees apply to purchase/activation of Card. Redeemable for merchandise and services on airbnb.com only. Cards can’t be redeemed for cash except as required by law. Not valid as payment on credit account or for gratuities. Treat this Card as cash; lost, stolen, or damaged Cards may be replaced at the Issuer’s election, if at all, only with Card purchase receipt and Card number, and then only for the Card’s remaining value. Issued by Airbnb Payments, Inc. For Card and balance info, call 1-855-424-7262 or visit airbnb.com. If your purchase exceeds the unused balance of the Card, you must pay the excess at the time of purchase using another payment method.

    • Reading the comments on the Amazon page, it appears you can only use these cards if you have a US based account.

A question to those that have purchased these gift cards before:
    1) is there a maximum gift card redemption amount that one can use per booking? So a $200 booking, can we get $100 off with a $100 gift card?
    2) are the USD gift cards restricted in anyway? By this I mean are we on Australia fully able to utilise these gift cards worldwide?
    3) reading some of the Amazon comments - is it easy to apply the gift card codes? Or is it a hassle requiring customer service as per the comments on Amazon?

    Thanks.

  • so it can be stacked? Can it be purchased with the $10 promo credit we received

    • I tested the checkout, and it was going to deduct my amazon gift balance. So yes, i believe so

Looking forward to the guinea pig trying it 😊

  • Anyone tried booking accommodation in the USA with these previously (edit with an Australian based account/credit card)?

    Or know anyway around it?

just tried loading onto my account and got the "Shoot, somethings wrong" message page
changed currency to USD still same thing, I think maybe because its still in airbnb.com.au might have to try VPN?

    • Thanks for the update shonofear; user name checks out.
Appears we have found our guinea pig https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/285220#comment-4319669

    • I'm assuming you got this when you used your Australian account? Can you try creating a US account and testing to see if these gift cards will work that way?

Only saying this since it seems you've already bought a gift card and are now trying it, otherwise let's see if someone else tries this out. Would be a great deal if we can get it to work somehow.

      • From the terms of service on gift cards it says " Gift Cards can only be purchased by or gifted to individuals in the United States." Exactly how this is enforced NFI….

        • So inference is that if you don't have a US based Airbnb account - no dice.

        • @bullettime: To have a US one then the question is does the proof of identification and payment have to be US..

    • I need to create an account for an upcoming trip, so am tempted to try this out. I installed proxy for chrome, that allowed me to get in to airbnb.com without redirecting, and sign up. Under the payment options, it lets me select the credit card with country as Australia, it also has country of residence as Australia so I assume so far so good. Have yet to purchase the gift card and make a booking, problem there is i haven't planned where to stay yet

  • "The promotional code you entered has expired", plus reading the other comments, it seems like it can't be redeemed. Lucky, because I was about to buy $400 USD worth.
