That's impressively cheap, is it PS4 compatible after shucking?

    • +2

      Yep works fine for that

    • +2

Yep did it with the same drive this weekend. Took 30mins in total to install the 2TB into the PS4 and put the 500gb PS4 drive back into the Seagate case.

Hey did you do this via a youtube video? if so can you share video/website? cheers.

      • Is it standard 2.5" SATA laptop drive inside?

        • Inside the ps4 or inside the Seagate?

Either question, yes both are 2.5 hard drives so I swapped the 2TB seagate with the 500gb PS4 one.

  • sweet , thanks OP just picked one up. perfect timing as running out of room on my old 1TB Seagate expansion

This seems like a really good price..I don't have need for it at the moment, but would you say it's one of those prices that won't come around too often, so worth getting one and keeping it for future use? :( I bought an external hdd dock a couple of weeks back so i could use some 1TB hdd's i had laying around :(

People, make my mind up for me please!

    • I would say no…you're only saving $15 and 10% - 20% off ebay sales are common enough that the deal will be on soon enough anyway.

      • These particular drives have only come down to the $80 mark in the last few sales.
Prior to that even with the 20% off sales, they rarely went below $100.

        • +1

I'm fairly sure that's cos the regular price has dropped from $120 to $100. Put it this way: after this eBay deal is over you'll be able to walk into officeworks the next day and buy it for $99, so that's the price I'd be comparing it to.

        • @Autonomic:
Cool. I always welcome a good price drop on a popular item.

  • Yep, just checked with WD 2tb Ultra and Seagate 2tb Backup Plus Slim. Code also works with these.

    • Which would u suggest out if the three? (Incl. price)

      • +8

        The cheapest one.

  • thanks op

  • Works with Mac OK?

    • +1

      You might need a dongle

      • I ahve 3 dongles hahaha

        • Are they on Orange?

    • Yeah, I own the same drive. You just need to reformat it to Mac OS Extended and it works fine.

  • Thanks OP.

(profanity) companies and their bullshit requirement to want my address number etc etc…im picking the thing up you pieces of shit. hack your ass off. edit. thanks op

    • Don't approved id cards or drivers licenses need an address on them to match up with your online purchase when you go in store to collect?

    • Do you live off da grid?

      • Solar power with batteries and backup generators. Grows own vegetables and fruits. Pays everything in cash.

Yeah stuff that give me my connected life. :)

      • This guys taken Roy off the grid?

FYI This HDD fits the PS4 for an easy 2TB internal upgrade.

Is this compatible with the XBOneS?

  • Nice OP!

Works on a whole bunch too!

Does anyone know when the discount expires tho?

  • Thanks OP. I was looking at 2tb drives for my PS4 yesterday.

  • Thanks bought.

Although coupon says it can be used only once per account, you can use the coupon twice: 1. once by logging into your GG account and paying by credit card, and 2. once by NOT logging into your account, and paying by PayPal.

  • Thanks bought

  • Just quick heads up. I bought the 3TB one for my Xbox one recently. If you are also buying one for that purpose, be aware this will ruin the gaming experience. I think the Cutscenes & new maps are loaded from Disc directly at runtime, therefore it jitters massively. I played Ori and the blind Forest with this problem - It was a Disaster. Then when I started Fallout 4, I could not bear it. So, I uninstalled from External Disc and installed back on the main disc. It is a breeze now. Just saying.

I think they were talking about opening this up and taking the drive out to install into the console.

Externally would be limited to the USB bus port speed.

    • That'd probably make sense. These are cheap portable consumer grade hard drives after all.

    • might not be enough power supplied from the xbox one usb port, try using a usb3 Y-cable.

      • hmm.. May be I should. I have a 2TB WD disc as well. I'll try with that as well. Thanks for the tip, anyway.

  • Cheers bought one.

  • Thanks OP. Bought one.

  • Can this be picked up from store for same price ?

    • Yes use C & C, but you need to buy first apply discount pay online and collect instore.

  • already bought one.

  • just checked and JB won't price match :( neither will OW because of the discount code.

    Hey Guys,
I have confirmed that it works for the Seagate 4TB Expansion as well -
    https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/seagate-4tb-expansion-desktop…
    Down to $158.10

  • Ordered one Cheers Did the Delivery thing for $5 Not worth the drive to Closest major town..

  • Just a note, personal experience with Seagate is that they are quite unreliable.

Not to say other brand won't have problem, just the chance with Seagate are a lot higher…

  • Just a note, had heaps of issues connecting these to devices to watch movies/shows. Very hit & miss, for instance doesn't work on my Ps4 pro for some reason. Working well though as an external HD for my Xbox One S

  • Bought one, picked it up, dead on arrival.
Wanted it replaced, no stock. Went to return it anyway. Unit tested, confirmed not working. One just arrived apparently and they gave it to me (sorry not sorry).
    Thanks OP.

  • Thanks. I've managed to get a further 5% off at OW. Tx.

  • is this the same as the one harvey norman and JB hifi are selling for $119?

  • DOes anyone know what hard drive this actually uses? Thinking about taking the case off and putting it into my desktop.

    • It's most likely a 2TB Seagate HDD
