  • It shows $799.2 ($999 before code) on my side

    • The store owner must have updated it. Even better! :)

  • Which of the two do you think is the better bargain out of the two? I'm still deciding on which to buy. I need it to last me ~5 years

    • CHEAP! I did some research as I bought the Lenovo recently. I think Lenovo is the way to go as it really compares with SP4.

  • FFS I paid $1100 just before Christmas!

    • I paid $899 and feel ripped off.

  • 8gb RAM, 256HDD…those are very good specs.

The video mentioned 4G but it's not in the description. If it had that it'd be a great buy.

  • We need a link in the OP for the Zenbook, since the posts were combined, thanks.

Some basic specs (at a minimum) would be nice too..

    I paid $100 more last week… :(

LOL, if $800 is a bargain then what about $459USD …. was that before xmas, so that gives you an idea for a M7 version … with active pen!

    • Would be great if this deal was posted here when USD$459 was offered :(

found out after I paid alot more for it champ … it's an old discontinued model, esp with the m series chips being replaced, so it should be alot less than 800 IMO, no one in the US is selling them anymore …

IMO it's probs worth $600-650AUD but if ppl are willing to pay $800 … then of course retailers like FutuOnline are probs not going to discount any further, unless they dont need profit … pppft who needs to make margin right ;)

FWIW lenovo had a channel rebate offer, which was like $200-300 for a reseller for one of these units

        • so you meant the M5 model in this deal is also a discontinued model? What new chip is replacing the M series? I'm a bit out of date due to a lot of chips Intel releasing every year now.

Although it's not as good as the USD$459 offer, this $799 seems to be the best deal available right now for a 2-in-1 tablet/laptop. Did you buy the M5 or M7? Could you give me some reviews on this in term of battery life, performance and build quality?

@willx: entire M series being discontinued and replaced. I have the M7 version … pls do your homework and compare the processor speeds, I had a i5 and compared to what i was using before.

M3 and M5 were rubbish. M7 just scrapped through … just … battery life is weaker than Spectre X360 (i5) which could get 8-10 hours unplugged. The 2-in-1 gets 4-5 max. Build quality is good, flimsy keyboard compared to Surface Pro.

HP Spectre X2 was around $1k with M7/8GBRAM/512SSDD, that was better value IMO, not sure if those are on sale now? I missed out :(

Be careful buying anything from Futu. I bought an M3 Miix 700 from them a few months back. They shipped me a dead unit, promising a replacement (quote: "We have a replacement for you right here in front of us"). Three weeks later they conceded they didn't have any replacement stock, told me to stop complaining, hung up on me and eventually processed a refund later.

Their staff are incompetent troglodytes who're only interested in sales, not service.

    • Yeah they seem a bit dodgy just looking at their prices. Many of them are being sold above RRP. I don't know if it's because of the 20% off sale, but this is ridiculous.

  • Anyone know if you pay GST on this and hence is this TRS eligible?

    • I don't know for sure - but there is a good chance. When I bought things from futu eBay previously I was issued with a gst-inclusive invoice.

      • This could be too tempting for me if this is true!

  • Is the keyboard included? Is the keyboard itself metal, or soft plastic like the SP4?

    • yes, kb included. it's like the SP4 keyboard, but non-backlit and a bit more flimsy … but hey, it's FREE … vs the $1,000,0000000 price for a SP4 keyboard

  • Just got mine today, happy with the very fast delivery.
"HOWEVER", I just went into the Lenovo Solution Centre, it's telling me that I've got 73 days of warranty left?!?
Anyone else have the same problem?

    • Yes. I bought an M700 desktop. It seems Lenovo warranty begins when the retailer (or maybe distributor) purchases it, not the customer. If it was sitting in inventory for months before it sold, that end user gets less warranty with Lenovo. Sounds totally stupid and unfair. But if something happens to mine within a year but after Lenovo warranty is expired, I will be taking it back to where I got it with the receipt saying, it's still within a year. Fix it.

    • Yeah I had that with a Dell laptop I purchased from JB HiFI. The warranty started from the date Dell purchased the laptop from Dell, not from when I bought it. In this case, it probably means you would need to take the item back to Futu Online, or you can try and contact Lenovo and see if you can change the warranty date?

Just an FYI to all who purchased this deal, I've been told this is how you get your one year warranty:

      go to https://support.lenovo.com/au/en/warrantylookup/basewarranty…

This will give you the information below:

Please send your registration request and information below to our registration team at [email protected]

      Information required:
Machine purchase date format as Jan 1st 2012
      Machine Serial Number
      Machine Type for Think-branded product

Make sure you tell them you purchased from KS computers (main Trade name of Futu). They can update the warranty information for you.

I just did mine through email, hopefully that's all I need to do.

  • Lenovo Miix 710 and 720 just got announced at CES 2017
