Thank you for the PSA but be prepared for the negs.

    • +3

Negs? Did i do a bad?

      • +33

You did good kid, ya did real good.

      • +8

People might neg because they missed out/ your posting a standard price for an item and even though it's near impossible to get because it's almost sold out they don't care.

        • +3

I've never seen this bad side to ozbargain ever…thabks for the heads up. Probably will just never post again regardless of rarity/exclusiveness. Cheers to you guys though :)

        • +2

@WOO CHEWY WOO: don't be a wuss Chewy

        • +2

@WOO CHEWY WOO:You've never been the bad side of OzBargain? Have you had your eyes shut?

        • +5

@WOO CHEWY WOO: Just post your deals man, don't get involved in the comment section. People vote with the +/-, this is on 55+/10-, most people are thankful you informed them. I've posted RRP links to limited stock items before, they always do fine and people are appreciative. Don't stress over the "post it in the forums" people, there are two feeds to ozbargain, the catch all and the featured. The catch all is 100% fair game to post this stuff and the deal gets to featured, that means a lot of people bloody cared!

In short, (profanity) the haters, they don't run the site and the mods clearly do not mind :)

        • +3

          @yellowc:
Yeah I'd much rather be informed of Limited items even if it's under the 20 item limit so at least I can have a chance.

      • because it's a normal price not "deal". upvote from me tho! i ordered one yesterday

  • +2

    Thank you!

  • +2

    No carrying case…

    • +2

      I know!! So bummed…USA and Europe only :( can't imagine why…

      • Europe isn't getting the case either, they are only getting the Sword Figurine and Soundtrack in their limited edition.

    • -1

      5 negs votes?

    • +1

Why the hate, good game and my family love Zelda. It's a collectable item, just like our gold Zelda n64 cartridge

      • +2

As if you could ever sell that, I have bought and sold 3 N64s in the last 20 years, but never the Gold Ocarina of Time cartridge.

  • +2

    Nabbed one yay!!

  • Link doesn't work anymore must be all snapped up

    • +59

Link never stops working, he is always ready because he is full of courage.

      • +1

        Use the Tri-Force Link!

  • Wow hadn't looked at any of the Switch games pricing here now that it's locked down. This LE is really expensive that Statue better be huge and awesome.
Also if you end up buying this don't be surprised when it arrives with 1-2 layers of bubble wrap in a plastic shipping bag. My LE game with a nice box which was online only from them was a little damaged when I ordered something like this before. Probably won't be mint perfect condition for those who care.

  • +5

Extremely limited but still hasnt sold out since being listed around 3PM.

  • +9

This post just needs a wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube man!

  • +7

lmao @ 'limited edition' and the ridiculous price.

    • +1

I think the price is the limited edition, because I've never seen it that high before!!

    • +1

Everything is a limited edition with Nintendo.

      • Are you a Zelda fan, because your name sounds alot like Hyrule…

        • +5

You must be a Motorola fan then…

        • +1

It also sounds a lot like Hydra.

        • +1

Sounds more like Hydress to me.

  • -1

Its a bargain cos you can sell this for double

    • +2

      Doubt it.

    • +1

      Don't think so.

  • So this is 189 for a game ? Whats the best console to buy if you like zelda ?

    • +2
    • +7

You can play every home console Zelda game ever released (and many of the handheld games), including Breath of Wild', on a Wii U. Some of the games have been re-released as HD versions, the others are all available through backwards compatibility with the Wii and through Virtual Console. If you don't want a Wii U, the remakes of Ocarina of Time and Majora's mask are excellent on 3DS.

  • -7

$200 for a game? Yeah sure go have fun. No wonder retailers can hang on to ridiculous prices for games and people keep on buying.

    • +1

      didn't even click the link

      • yeah.. clicking the link isn't likely to improve someones already negative opinion on this value proposition. I can't remember there ever being a time when the figurines and posters in a collector's/limited/special edition were ever worth the premium, given that they are always fairly low in quality. to each their own i guess.

        • +1

decr is under the assumption that the game itself is $200. So clicking the link to see that it comes with other stuff would slightly improve his/her negative opinion.

      • +1

        What Orpheus said below.

  • +2

Pre order and at normal RRP?

  • +21

    -$200 for a game
    -bargain

    pick one

  • Bought

  • -8

The graphics in the trailer look like its PS3 level haha

Oh well, this game is going to be epic as is the norm with all Zelda games.

    • +15

It's not about the latest graphics or how many people are playing. Look at minecraft for example. It's all just large squares but still extremely addictive.
Fun is what makes a game great. Nintendo have never let us down in that way :)

        • +6

This is the 4th person to harshly judge a price they see, not bothering to research what it comes with and the differences between the Limited and Standard Editions…

          Click the link.
          Compare with the standard edition.
Dont see the value or spending extra between the two?
          Move along.
          Nothing to see here.

        • -3

          @WOO CHEWY WOO:

You don't seem to understand RRP, I could not care less about what all that is worth to you or anyone else, this is the standard price for this product, whatever it may be, this is ozbargain, RRP is not a bargain.

We either follow the rules of ozbargain for everything or we have arguments like these.

        • -1

          @Zylam Marex:

We either follow the rules of ozbargain for everything or we have arguments like these.

          There there, settle down children.

        • +1

          @Zylam Marex:
Well i did state 1st time poster.
I visit this site to share insite or deals and exclusives. Not discuss technicalities of a domain name.
Im sure if something you find interesting was sold out world wide and someone found stock, im sure there wouldn't be a disagreement that there's no saving on the RRP…

        • @Zylam Marex: Heil!

    • -3

I have a PS3, it's a great console, but nothing on it looks as good as that Zelda trailer and runs at 1080p.

  • +3

I'm sure the game is going to be great but I just can't get on board with this preorder hype. I guess if you really want the figurine and the map sure it is all yours, but if you are just in for the game; why not just wait for the release?

    • +2

Definitely. Only buy this if you really want the Limited Edition and Statue

      • +2

Buy the limited edition and statue if you want the limited edition and statue? Genius!

        • Getting the Limited Edition when it is sold out everywhere and only available pre-order? Priceless!

  • As someone who is yet to get up to speed on the Zelda world - is there anywhere I can play some of the older memorable games? I.e. how do I get up to speed on the story? Is it necessary?

Don't have any Nintendo consoles on me lol (except a Mini)

    • +3

I would definitely recommend 3ds remakes like Ocarina of Time and Majoras mask, along with the Wii u remakes- Wind Waker is a personal favourite of mine, and Twilight Princess is great.
I realse Ive pretty much recommended every Zelda game in the past 15 years haha but they are definitely worth a play through imo.

    • +1

as far as i know all of them are one off stories. and dont need any other to connect

the best one is 'A link to the past' on super nintendo though

      • +1

Agree - have played through every zelda since NES, and a link to the past is my favorite.

    • 3DS XL! if you can find stock :P

    • 3DS for sure! Even the New 3DS models are able to purchase the downloadable versions of Zelda from the old gameboys too!

    • +1

The good thing about Zelda games is they all pretty much stand alone story wise. They all basically centre around common elements and reincarnations of people that keep repeating throughout the history of a place called Hyrule. There are (almost) always three incarnations of people who weild sections of what's called 'the Triforce'. These characters are (almost) always a villain named Ganon who commands the section of the triforce that harbours Power, Princess Zelda who commands Wisdom and the hero (you/Link) who commands Courage. The stories are all different and interesting in their own ways but essentially it comes down to the reincarnation of a great evil in another point of Hyrule's history and suppressing it again. I'm pretty confident you could start with any game (including Breath of Wild) and still enjoy it without any prior knowledge but Skyward Sword does contain some lore about how the whole triforce cycle started and Ocarina of Time led to some events that are mentioned in Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, but again those elements are more fan service than essential plot points. Enjoy ;)

    • -1

First you by a retro tabletop …

    • +1

Download ocarina of time. You can use an emulator if you must. You'll get stuck, so consult walk through when needed. Big game with the best story, gameplay and soundtrack of all

  • +4

It does suck that AU doesn't get the case and is more expensive then US. Nintendo screwing us sigh

  • +11

My understanding is that this belongs in the forum and not as a post - it is a preorder at RRP

Happy to change the neg if I am mistaken

    • Yup fully agree, what we have here is the typical do as I say and not as I do mentality, like with the negative votes on the 1 dollar caged eggs, the eggs were a genuine bargain, yet the wrongful use of negs wasn't death with, people were expressing their opinions as negs and it was allowed.

Now we have the ultimate brainwashed clan of the world, Nintendo fans, 189 for a game? Really? You can buy a PS Vita with a game for 189.

And it's not even a bargain or sale, just RRP.

      • -7

If you click the link, scroll down, you'll see why it's that much. It comes with collectibles or all sorts.
The standard edition is still avaiable for $89.95, as most normal games are these days.

        • +4

It's RRP, all limited edition are the same, it's not like JB is giving you something more for the same price.

          RRP, not a bargain.

But it's alrite, brainwashed Nintendo clan at its finest.

        • -1

@Zylam Marex: Like any other deal it gets to the front page by upvotes. It got voted therefore is popular and considered a good deal, now you just need to deal with it.

        • -4

          @stormii:

Good thing the rules are there as a joke eh. Just because something gets voted doesn't push it above the rules.

Anyone who voices concern over an RRP product not being pushed to the forums has a valid argument, now you just need to deal with that.

        • +1

@Zylam Marex: Hmm rules, are laws rules, because I think they are. Pirated, stolen and illegitimate keys would be breaking the law and therefore breaking rules too wouldn't it? Popular opinion has made them allowed on OzB, but they are really breaking rules, big rules written in books made of vellum.

        • @Zylam Marex:

where the rules clearly state RRP is for the forums?

Good thing the rules are there as a joke eh.

Sorry but there's no such rule, making such a comment just spreads false information that this non existent rule is real.

For arguments sake, if there was such a rule you would report it, not negative vote and argue about it in any case.

Our stance is that, as always the community decides if it's a good deal or not through the voting system as they are doing now. If you genuinely believe something is wrong with the deal then report it and let moderators decide.

          Thanks

    • +8

Yeah agreed. Great for those that want it, but I think RRP titles should stay in the forum. If you want public service announcements sign up for or visit vooks.net or some other gaming site.

Frankly, the lack of pickup to me doesn't even make it a great deal. There's a good chance you'll be visiting the store to pick the console up anyway. EB (sold out now) allowed in store pickup AND you only had to pay a deposit prior to pickup. JB isn't offering pickup and looks to be asking for the full amount today.

      • +5

        Agreed.
I'm a huge Zelda fan but this is RRP.
        Forums, not a bargain.

      • +4

A great deal of people who use this site do not even log in, let alone go to the forum, you guys are kinda angry at times.

        • I'm not angry, I just think public service announcements are unnecessary and if you want to find out about such things there's sites targeted at different demographics that will provide that info. Many have mailing lists you can join too such as the Vooks one I listed which is dedicated to AU Nintendo news such as this.

This sites aimed at spreading bargains or deals, not acting as a source of upcoming game info and I think posting news or announcements as dealsnonly serves to push legitimate deals into the back pages. Limited run products get released daily, is ozbargain really a great way to notify people of them?

        • -1

@Smigit: Let me guess, you are a 28 year old white male and all sites must conform to your demographics lowest denominator or they are "alternative"?

        • @stormii: Perhaps I just acknowledge and believe it's common sense that if I want to find out about video game releases I should visit video game sites or subscribe to something like EB Games newsletter. They'll happily list new releases and their RRP.

Or it's that too crazy a concept?

The OP himself has repeatedly stated this is a public service announcement, not that it's a good price.

        • There are also websites dedicated to bitching when everything has been resolved. Try /r/offmychest

        • +5

          @Smigit:
I'm a level 4 EB member, subscribed to multiple mailing lists (including JB Hi-Fi). I watched the Switch event live, I regularly check Kotaku etc and I managed to somehow miss this even being announced or even aware it was purchasable.

… until I saw this post. I've got my order in and I'm ecstatic, it looks great!

          So +1 for this post.

        • So to sum up, I don't know how to use the site so I won't use it correctly nor expect others to. Cool cool.

        • @PoxyRadical: Don't put words in my mouth, and try reading the entire thread, you will find the mod weighed in and there is no RRP rule, there was just a bunch a fools who believe what someone said without fact checking. Were you one of them?

        • @stormii: nope.

        • +2

@PoxyRadical: good, because I don't suffer no fools.

    • +1

It's that price because of the extras that come with it.
The statue, the map, the collective coin, the cd soundtrack.
The value is worth it for the fans of the game series or people who appreciate nintendo.

      • +5

This is not Nintendo land, it's a bargain website, regular RRP is not a bargain, but let me guess Nintendo gets special treatment.

I'll post every new games limited edition RRP as a bargain here, let's see how it that goes eh?
