This thread serves to let everyone know how much you have saved on your 7/11 fuel app.

Step 1: Subscribe to this thread to get email updates. You can change your subscription settings in your Ozbargain account to enable more/less email updates.

Step 2: Upon filling up simply fill in the details in this format:

  • NAME OF 7/11 STORE
  • PETROL TYPE
  • PETROL PRICE

Example:

  • Richlands QLD
  • ULP
  • 111.9/litre

Further Info/Tips

There are two "tricks" that can be extremely beneficial as there is a common trend experienced by 7-Eleven App users: 1) If you receive an error processing your credit/debit card, you can purchase a 7-Eleven Gift Card in-store and apply the credits instantly onto the App. 2) You do not need to use the funds on your App to pay for the fuel, you can lock-in the price and pay via Cash or Card at the checkout saving the hassle of constantly topping up, gift cards, etc.

Master131 spends a lot of time creating and maintaining the script at Project Zero Three that we all know and love.

    locked in price today and went to pay for fuel. cashier tried to scan but the discount didn't register. tried a few times as well.

    Not sure whats going on. How do people claim after the fact?

      In the app, going to the settings tab, contact us, fuel price lock… attach receipt of missed fuel price lock to email. Wait for reply.

      I had a problem the first time when I didn't say anything and just showed them the barcode. Now every time I go, I say "can I scan this fuel lock please?" and the cashier hits something on the computer and it has worked for the past 3 times, maybe some cashiers don't realise they need to activate something first on their end?

      Have you read the OP? There at least four options for iOS devices.

                  I couldn't find the dmg for this version. The nearest one to that is 10.3 and 11.0. I tried both of them, unsuccessfully.
                  I am totally lost and have been reading the instructions but no luck.

                    @Np321: Okay, if you don't want to update your Mac to Sierra/Mojave then you should download XCode for your mac and use that for location fake. The download is a lot bigger is the only downside but if you search on youtube how to fake location with xcode you can find a guide.

              You cannot bypass Google's SafetyNet. Whenever you make a page request (fuel search, confirm price, possibly updating the offers etc - this is off the top of my head, I haven't looked at the app for a while now) 7-Eleven adds a header called X-Attestation, and in this header is the response that Google's SafetyNet had. In the response is the base64 encoded, SHA-256 hash of the certificate used to sign requesting app. That means that when you sign the APK yourself it won't match what 7-Eleven has signed their app with, which means that the SHA-256 hash won't match. To my knowledge you cannot spoof it.

              The X-Attestation header is a JWT token, which if you look at it, the third part of the token is the verification key (SflKxwRJSMeKKF2QT4fwpMeJf36POk6yJV_adQssw5c). And that verification key verifies that the first 2 parts are legitimately signed by Google.

              So we can't alter the SafetyNet message, which means that the Android app cannot be cracked like the previous methods that were released on here. Another way you might be able to do it is to make it think it's the iOS app. They have different headers for their app. You cannot simply rewrite the headers the Android version sends to say it is an iPad or iPhone because you get a signature mismatch response because the iOS app and the Android app have different HMAC keys.

              Followed along? Good. Now if you can just finish off the studying I've shared above and figure out how you can modify the app for the rest of the community on here that'd be fantastic - I'm sure everyone would be proud of you! Heck, I'd even send you $10 for accomplishing it - I'm sure you did the same for me at one stage.

              Maybe I'm sour grapes, I don't know, but when people just demand stuff then it really grinds my gears. Speaking for myself, and probably master131, but we do this in our own spare time. I have a full time job, and cracking/modifying apps is something I do in my spare time for myself mainly. The 7-Eleven app was the first one I published publicly and I've moved on from it. So maybe that's my sayonara?

              Edit: If this is one of my last posts in this thread, then thank you everyone for the fun times, and the feedback, you've helped me learn Java and smali so I can add custom code into other apps - awesome!! 99% of you are fantastic, theres only a handful of people like the bloke above who I don't appreciate. I've made a few decent buddies on here and hopefully I'll keep in contact with you. If you do need help though I'm always a PM away, I'm still happy to try and help you all.

                @Freighter: Freighter i just wanted to say thank you for all your help and assistance with the app and the countless time you spend making it and updating it and even tried to do so after the latest update. You have helped lots of us save quite a bit of money all this time so that's definitely something everybody should be appreciative of at the very least.     A lot of people are getting others to lock in for them, is there any security to stop them from using the account and auto charging the owners card?

    Not saying that you guys are dodgy, love the community support but you are total strangers online so I just want to know if I would be gambling away the limited money I have in an attempt to save a few dollars.

      There is no credit card required since the update, you are correct to have that concern before the 7/11 app was upgraded.
      When the 7/11 app was upgraded, the existing accounts were sent an email to get a gift card to redeem their account's residual value.

      There is no credit linked to the accounts anymore.
      You're welcome to create a burner account to ask others to lock in for you.

      All you need an email capable of receiving a verification link
      Name and date of birth don't have to be true.

        Ah OK thanks for reassuring me. I haven't used the app since I was able to lock in cheap full (all the 7 eleven stores in my area are often 30c more a litre than other stations). I would love to lock in 91 if you're still doing it for tonight, what details do you need? Just login info?

          I'm always available to lock in, though as a free service there are no guarantees I will carry it for you within a guaranteed timeframe.

          Yep, login info + fuel type required (I can see you want 91, but when people PM me.. it's like they expect me to dig through their comment history to find out their fuel type)

        Just found out the reason why IOS won't log in.

        It won't do so if the date & time is not set to "set automatically". Not sure why that is critical to the software.

        Nope. Just locked in a NSW price and filled up with no issues in VIC.

          The U98 price in VIC is so expensive in recent weeks
          My closest 7-11 U98 is 165.9 today
          Just by locking 117.9 will save me over $10..

    Looking at the older posts looks like IOS 12 is the minimum requirement is that correct?

      I use iPhone but I don't see why it wouldn't work on iPad. iPad 5th gen and iPad air 2 are both on current iOS. iPad Air 1 is on 12.4.8 which should work for now but get one of the other two incase the app gets updated. Alternatively iPhone 6s will work too.

        Just to add, iPhone 5s works as well, and those run significantly cheaper. But I do agree, probably get something that likely will survive another generation or two, although take into account the cost obviously!

      Check if there are numbers in the coordinates. Click on the map if there isn’t and then numbers will appear, then lock.
