Further Info/Tips

There are two "tricks" that can be extremely beneficial as there is a common trend experienced by 7-Eleven App users: 1) If you receive an error processing your credit/debit card, you can purchase a 7-Eleven Gift Card in-store and apply the credits instantly onto the App. 2) You do not need to use the funds on your App to pay for the fuel, you can lock-in the price and pay via Cash or Card at the checkout saving the hassle of constantly topping up, gift cards, etc.

    Hi guys
Thanks a lot for updating the app with fake location in it.
I am using Mate20pro and I successfully installed and locked fuel today with the app first for myself and then for my partner but when I log in again on my brothers account app takes me to fake location and show me the price but when I try to lock it just takes me back to home page.
Now I am not able to lock for myself too.
Can some one please put some light on this.

    • +3

Can only lock in twice per device, every 24 hours.

      • -3

        Thanks a lot for clarifying
I uninstalled and install app 7 times today.
        Thanks heaps

  • All, I have a noob question. Is everyone just locking in the cheapest in OZ to get maximum saving?
I am in Vic and the cheapest is in WA, but my account get banned more likely if I start locking in from WA.
Or should I just stick with the cheapest in Vic? I guess if everyone is picking the cheapest and they turn a blind eye, then of course I will do the same. Thanks.

      Yes.

Merged from [NSW] 7-Eleven Supreme U98 Fuel $1.119 Per Litre @ Revesby 2212
    Go to Deal

Was flying in my helicopter and came across this. Still valid as at 8.32pm AEDT. Pretty low price for U98. Lock it in before it expires.

Coordinates: -33.9480639,150.9942686 (Thanks @OzBargin, you beat me to it)

Also E10 is 91.9 and U91 is 93.9 at same location.

PLEASE DO NOT FILL YOUR HELICOPTERS WITH THIS OZBARGAIN USERS, IT WILL NOT RUN WELL!

    • +2

Isn't this part of their price cycle? Their U91 is at $0.939 per litre..

      • yes it is just normal pricing.

        • Maybe normal for other parts of Australia. U98 is still expensive in VIC.

    • +1

It's cheap but its there normal price given 91 and E10 are much lower

    • -1

We need a station that has cheap 91 to run out of 98…. Going to be hard though, no one's driving

    • -1

Epic fail, this isn't even cheap.

      • Great thanks. I'm from VIC and petrol prices and 98 is still expensive.

        • Costco is cheap, but I think 7/11 98 is cheaper with this deal (slightly).

    • it will surely continue to go down. Oil is so damn cheap now.

      • Gonna be free soon. Just need your own refinery.

        • I got E10 at my local costco for 88.7c per litre today.. cheaper than what 7/11 can offer!

          • @Gomo: E10 is 85.9c at Metro Glenroy Vic, if you're nearby

            • @shiznit: I'm QLD Based to far :P I have been seeing some NSW Metro stations as low as 49.95c per litre!

We all know tho the cheapest price some lucky users on here have paid in the past is 00.01c per litre ;) https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/373816?page=1

              • @Gomo: And then had their accounts banned…

                • @sween64: Spot on, their honey pot trap. 7/11 probably left it online for a 5 minutes and then gathered all the accounts that managed to lock it in and then cash it >100km away. That's why the older version of the app doesn't auto lock in a ridiculously low price.

                • @sween64: Yeah that too. But I think some people made new accounts for it so if 7/11 banned their acct they're not losing out on much.

      • -1

There was an analyst saying it could go negative as companies pay to get rid of it.

  • -4

Anyone scared to lock prices interstate due to travel restrictions?

    • Helicopters are still allowed, they are now considered personal aerial carrier.

    • Why not? I just scroll down. It's none of the attendants business where I got the price. And with the wholesale price being so low they're not making a loss either.

  • -1

Well its easy to look back at the data and say how did you lock in the price at WA but pump in VIC during travel restrictions…im not saying the attendant will question you, more likely 7-11 will check and ban accounts

    • Your decision.

If you don't feel comfortable, don't do it.

I will continue to lock in.

    • +4

In this day and age you can just make another account. Don't need to have account credit.

      • Doesn't it require a license number on signup though?
Or is this not actually used for account verification?

        • Just a new email address, nothing else.

        • Nope not anymore it seems

  • Merged from [WA] Unleaded 95+ $1.059/L @ 7-Eleven Ascot

Seems a good price. Credit to projectzerothree as always. Enjoy :)

    Start your copter.

    • +2

Good price yes.. But its just normal price cycle.

    • same price in WA tmr as well

    • filled up there today . There was one other customer .

      • +8

Careful now, any more people and you'd have a gathering.

    • +1

Fuel watch thread. This is normal price

    • +1

It should go down further on Tuesday. It seems based on the last few weeks the weekly cycle has gone a bit out of whack, but most retailers are raising their prices from 6am Wednesday instead of 6am Tuesday like they have for the past few years.

Always some outliners with that but that seems to be the change.

    • Luckily they haven't banned helicopter travel.

    • +3

Fuel watch is such a good innovation. Is everything in WA simply better?, even your premier handling the whole covid situation.

    • +1

whats the best helicopter app out there Ozbargainers ?

    • U91 is 93.9c/L at Ascot

      • Costco just down the road is 84.7c/L. But yes, Ascot is the best option for those seeking to use the Ozbargain helicopter.

    • -3

No deal, plenty around cheaper than this and cheaper again tomorrow.
On the plus side, I can now afford to drive my V8 to work.

      • It’s still a deal for Victorians. Prices haven’t dropped to that level here yet

        • -1

Not sure how it can be a deal to Vic's…how are you going to obtain it?
BP Redcliffe (which is quite literally a few hundred meters down the same road) is 100.9c. Shell, again on the same road, will be 99.9c/L tomorrow.

          • @whitelie: Then post them here! Better than bitching about it

            • +2

@cloud68: As many have posted before, Fuelwatch makes everything too easy in WA. Can see current prices and tomorrow's prices after 2:30PM. Servo's can only change their price in a 5 or 10 minute window at 6am in WA too so they don't vary throughout the day.
Look up wherever is close to you and make a decision. I'm not one to be spending $5 driving around to get it 2c cheaper.

          • +8

@whitelie: You new here or something?

            • @Wampus: Hahaha you both get an upvote for that. Brilliant stuff =D

            • +2

@Wampus: Must be! It all makes sense now I've read a bit more of the thread it was merged in to.
Didn't know you could lock in interstate prices, thought it had to be same state.
In which case, disregard my comments…but still no bargain for me.

    • -1

You could say driving to find cheaper fuel is a rookie move, requires too much effort, that's why I fly instead.

  • +6

Hope it's OK to post this but it appears on Fuel Watch that 7/11 at Middle Swan will have 91 for 88.9c/L tomorrow? Great opportunity for people in the East Coast to lock in :)

    • Southern River will be even cheaper at 87.9c!!!

      • +1

        Didn’t happen :(

        • +1

It did but 7/11 app is showing yesterday's prices. Odd. Maybe they don't want people in other states locking it in.

  • +1

Is eleven me no more? Wouldn't load today and appears gone from play store.

    • Still available on the App Store.

  • +5

    U98 105.9 @ Southern River WA

    Great price.

    • +1

Surely 99c 95 is the pick as well. Wish I had a reason to drive haha. Haven't used fuel while the prices have been this amazing.

      • +1

Neither lol! Been using like 5L max per week ATM..

  • +2

How bizarre. Petrolspy shows 7/11 southern river being 87.9c while the app shows it at the previous 93.9c from yesterday while the 95 and 98 prices have been updated.

    • +3

This has happened again today. Wa Fuel Watch reporting 87.9 c for U91 today and tomorrow but the app isn’t displacing this price again..

      • Been like that the last few days. A bit irritating but I can see why they do it.

On petrolspy you can see the actual servo price is lower than on the app.

    • +3

For the love of all things holy…….🤷

  • -1

Fuel prices are so out of whack lately.
Almost like some servos try to get rid of old fuel.

This bring to my question: is it still safe to buy full tank of fuel if we're not driving much at all? Or better to just top up a little bit every now and then.

    • They're only buying it for like 85c/L… They're not being charitable lol.

It's because Russia and the Saudis got into a price war but now they've decided to cut back on production prices will probably rise a bit.

    • three months
According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, most gasoline sold in the U.S. is “E10” gas made of 90 percent petroleum-based gas and 10 percent ethanol (ethyl alcohol). Ethanol-blended gas usually has a shelf life of up to three months because of the high speed at which ethanol oxidizes.

Merged from 7/11 Fuel @ Chadstone VIC $0.99c - 91 Unleaded [Fuel Lock App]

they also have nice $3.50 beef pies

    • +5

Not really a bargain. Normal prices at the moment. Cheaper elsewhere in country.
