Further Info/Tips

There are two "tricks" that can be extremely beneficial as there is a common trend experienced by 7-Eleven App users: 1) If you receive an error processing your credit/debit card, you can purchase a 7-Eleven Gift Card in-store and apply the credits instantly onto the App. 2) You do not need to use the funds on your App to pay for the fuel, you can lock-in the price and pay via Cash or Card at the checkout saving the hassle of constantly topping up, gift cards, etc.

Master131 spends a lot of time creating and maintaining the script at Project Zero Three that we all know and love.

    • This is not a record low

    • Nothing to write home about.
      Not a bargain.

We should only allow posts on this in cases where 98 is being sold at 95/91 prices.
Or 95 sold at 91 prices.

      • When they posted it, i believe it was showing 113.9

I wonder with some of these to price drops if they're logging whose dropping by to lock in.

    • +1

      Diesel is good 126.3

      • Cheapest in a long time but not surprising considering the oil price

      • I was looking at petrol spy and it shows 99.9 @ Metro petrolium in Portland VIC

  • +3

Just a heads up that I drove past a Shell today and saw 159, so they prices are gonna start going back up soon

    • 7-11 sites in Sydney city went up 40c in the last few days too… but I think they are just trying to start a weekly cycle again.
The market won’t pay those rates at the moment - and they will all come down quickly again

      • Completely agree! The ACCC should be onto those petrol stations who jack up the price (but we all know they won't be) when the price of Oil has dropped significantly! A weekly cycle of jumping up 40-50c is criminal!

        • +2

Especially since last week the wholesale price dropped from $1.20 to $1.05 yet most servos only dropped like 5c Max. Disgusting really.

          • +1

            @Levathian: .. time to create 7 X 7/11 accounts per car..
One fuel lock every day keeps the prices at bay!

            • @cwongtech: especially with no longer requiring to keep a $ account toal
Going to have to look into working out how to do that

      • Most capital cities have a monthly cycle and the price rise is often 40c/L. It’s really not that unusual. The bottom of this cycle was lower than the previous and the bottom of the next cycle will likely be lower than this.

    • i was surprised to see a 7/11 in melb cbd, pricing at 150+ as well (today)

    Merged from [NSW] U98 Fuel $1.297/L @ 7-Eleven Ryde
    Go to Deal

    …or $1.117/L for U91.

Consider the fuel price is going up, lock it in while you can.

    Coordinate: -33.802315, 151.100403

    • +4

Going up? But POO is decreasing daily…

  • I am having a weird issue with Nox , I have been using for 12 months , I get the search results from the location I have set But when I push the button to lock in the price the screen just goes back to the "find my best local price " search screen , so I am unable to lock in ..
has anyone else got the same problem ?

  • +1

why does this not allow to be its own thread anymore?

    • -1

      No idea.

      • -4

Jealous report and idk what mods are thinking

    • +3

is a part of the normal price cycle because e10/91 prices are proportionate…
idk who made the rule but only when it's outside of the normal price cycle i.e. 98 runs out and charging 91 prices it becomes a "deal"

  • -7

Is anyone else getting a message to update the app on android?

    • -4

R u just wake up from comma 😄

      • -2

some one needs to go to the school for their grammar.

      • He has been self isolating for the past 14 days……….

  • Did a fuel lock last night and a message popped up saying you no longer need to have money saved in your 7-Eleven app to lock in fuel? Anyone else get this? Using Freighter's latest app.

    • +1

Yes, that's part of the new update of the official app (which Freighter's app mirrors).

We all got and are all ecstatic with it too (I think).

  • -3

So after the new update unable to lock with Freighter's script. Anyone having same issue?

    • Have you updated to the latest version?

      • Am not talking about app. Phyton script freighter made to lock fuel.

        • Yeah I know, have you updated the script to the latest version? My changes to get it working again were merged about a week ago

You need the latest version of the script, old versions won't work anymore

    • -4

      Have you been self isolating?

  • Merged from [NSW] Premium U98 $1.289/L @ 7-Eleven Revesby

I just so happened to be compulsively checking my tabs driving when I conveniently noticed the price and I locked it in.

    GPS Co-ordinates :

275 Canterbury Rd & Mavis St, Revesby, NSW, 2212

    -33.936573, 151.020919

    All credit to projectzerothree for reminding me to go out for a drive (;

    • My local Costco is 126.7 for 98… Anything above that is a meh price and not worth posting.

  • -4

I have an iPhone running an old software and use the IFAKELOCATION method to lock in fuel.

7-11 is now saying to update that iPhone, I assume if I update the method will no longer work?

    • +1

Is the app old or is your version of iOS old? If it’s just the app then you can update the app and continue to use the same method of GPS spoofing.

      • -3

Unsure why I’m being down voted?

@sween64 - It’s running a really old version of IOS which is how I’ve been able to do it.

I wasn’t sure if updating the app would still work with this method.

Fortunately I have an android tablet so will use that.

        • 7-Eleven will force you to update the app. If the new version of the app has an iOS requirement above what your device is on the you won’t be able to use your iPhone any more.

  • -1
Merged from 7 Eleven App Asking for Update

Now a days 7 eleven mock app asks for update. Therefore after update mock address cannot be enabled. Any1 having same issue?

    • +3

Check the thread. A new version of the app is posted shortly after each update is released.
It's been updated seriously 18 times. I'm surprised people aren't aware of what to do when there's an app update.

      • -2

It's easier to get someone else to find it, and be spoon fed, than doing it yourself.

      • -2

Which thread are you talking about???

    • Maybe should post it in OP. Ppl are very lazy to search and read. I think if we post it in the original post, then no more silly questions

Merged from [QLD] Unleaded 98+ $1.287/L @ 7-Eleven (Palm Beach)

    Credit to projectzerothree again!

Not sure what's happening with prices in Sydney… but what's with the price difference across cities.

    • +2

It's down to 88 cents in SA for 91 octane :/
So about $1.10 for 98 octane.. I know we have cycles here but that seems like a big gap.

    • +2

Average at best, prices need to come way down.
Plenty of other servos cheaper than this.

Check petrol spy if you don't believe me.

      • -1

This is for 98+ though? Where have you seen cheaper than this?

        • +2

          1.26 but costco pump

          1.25 coles express roxburgh park

          • +1

@kehuehue: 1.22 Costco Marsden park today, just filled up

            • @elcheapo: 1.25 coles express with a 8c code comes down to 1.17

U91 is 110.7 at project three zero

      • 711 cheapest e10 nationwide is 108.7 @ Palm Beach, but cheaper at Puma and Shell Tugun five mins away at 101.9 after 4c discount.

    • +6

Isn't it a deal when the 98 is the same price as 95 or 91… ?

      • -1

        Yes, most of the time.

  • -8

Ive had to download a new versipn so now cant use mock location, any workaround?

    • +7

Yes there is a workaround. First step: read the comments in the last few pages of this thread.

has anyone got freyta/7Eleven-Python to work on a raspberry pi?

    • Should be easy enough to run. One could even run it through docker.

      • Yup docker best way to do it

    • Works perfectly with and without Docker. That's using a Raspberry Pi 3

      • I keep running into errors running the requirements.txt
I kept trying and after about 4 or 5 tries it eventually installed most of them but it errors out before it end in the same spot.
        Any ideas?
        TIA

        • What was/were the error(s)?

          • @Freighter: soupsieve requires python '>3.5' but the running python is 2.7.13

python 3.8.2 is installed and I have made it the default version.

thanks for the prompted response :)

            • +3

@Dankmemes: Ok, try these commands. I think you might be using pip2 instead of pip3.

              git clone https://github.com/freyta/7Eleven-Python.git

              cd 7Eleven-Python/

              pip3 install —user -r requirements.txt

              python3 app.py

              It just worked for me:

Are there any other modifications that would be useful to the modded app I've released?

I think a few people would use the generate a device ID so when I find time (no isolation for the wicked!) I'll try and implement that again.

I've also thought about a button that resets the mock location so that you can lock in locally. But they were my only 2 ideas

    • +3

Hi Freighter, yes the generate a device ID is great for those who need to do multiple lock in from one device. It will be best if the app can take us to the cheapest location of the selected fuel type like the function of the auto lock in. I'm sure this is not an obstacle to you at all. Always thankful for your precious time making the app better.

    • +1

I've also thought about a button that resets the mock location so that you can lock in locally. But they were my only 2 ideas

Yep - this one is quite nice as clones of your latest gps-spoofing via orange button version mean I need to change the store finder 10 times every time :D

  • +3

Anyone else having the 7/11 app crashing when pushing "Find My Best Local Price"?. Have tried both with mocklocations on and off. Have tried clearing storage and cache. Have uninstalled and reinstalled the app.

I am currently on Android 10. Latest app posted on 10th March.

    • +2

That's normal, you need to use the store finder and search for the suburb you want to lock in and then press orange button for directions and you will get a message popup saying that the location has been saved. After that you can press find my best local price and it will lock to the store you searched previously. No need to use mock location anymore.

      • Thank you! I was use to the old one.

  • Gents,

Downloaded the latest APK on my S20 Ultra… I go to lockin price, however when hitting the orange box i get no additional popup saying a mock location has been saved. Am i missing something obvious here, or does this phone need to be rooted in order for this to work ? (if so i can revert back to my old phone to lock in prices).

    I used this apk https://anonfile.com/n2H3Jbgeo8/7_eleven_2044_apk

Am i missing something blatant here gents ?

Yeah you aren't using the mock location version. Use the other one

Honestly, if they wanted to they could have easily done that already. They must not be too fussed.

It Would be pretty easy to pick trends over the course of a couple of months of someone who always just "happens to be traveling exactly where the cheapest priced 7/11 in Australia was on that particular day"

  • Hey is anyone getting 'selected fuel not available' when trying to lock using freighters modded built in GPS app?
Even tried changing location but all fuel types unavaible.

I've cleared cache and reinstalled to no avail.

Hmm weird fix so installed mock location app and assigned it as default in developer settings. Now working with no hitch.
I had a mock location ap installed before and deleted it cause freighter updated his app. Might have to keep one installed

Wish there was a 7/11 in S.A. ULP is as cheap as 83.9. Average of 99.9.

All the other cities are being ripped off. Bottom of the cycle last week barely got below $1.10 in Brisbane.

    • Thanks will lock in again tomorrow. Great app this. The servos in Brisbane are refusing to drop the price. Saved $18 on fuel today which helps cover our food bill.

I finally got it working on Android. Thank you Freighter for the detailed instructions and taking the time to create this.

One positive with everything happening is cheap fuel. I haven't seen it this cheap in ages!
