Damn I just bought XXX yesterday…
    Here we go again….
    They raised the price!…
    Any good deals?….

Ok lets get all these out of the way :)

    • +15

Damn I just bought XXX yesterday…

Is it better than XXXX ?

      • +10

I was hesitating clicking the link thinking it might be p0rn!

        • Did your missus staring at your screen?

        • +2

and it was the same reason for me to click it in a split second.

      • +7

        Everything is better than XXXX.

        • But nothing is better than XXXX Summer.

      • +2

        Risky click of the day

  • +67

Accidentally checked out my eBay cart with a $1800 Dell XPS13 in it.

I hate it when that happens.
    Did it twice last week….

    • +19

Just the other day I accidently walked out with an entire baby. The whole thing, didn't even know they sold them at woolworths, couldn't believe it. But it was store brand, and I like to support local gnomesayin

  • +3

    Outlet deals still seem better.

  • +11

wow that's really nice of Dell to offer you that.

They just went up a notch in my book

    • they are probably sick of people tying up their lines asking for a refund so they can repurchase :D.

    • -1

Yeah they totally did it because they were nice, not because they're reading a script designed to recover some money after they just lost a sale.

      • +2

from what I gather from the post it was immediately after the sale before OP cancelled the order

        • +2

Definitely was before I requested to cancel it. I was fairly surprised, +1 to Dell.

        • +1

          @hallph:

I think this proves that it's ebay that takes the hit for the 20% off and not the sellers? I doubt dell would have sent the email if it was them that had to pay the 20%.

        • @videoman:

The retailer and eBay both take a hit on these deals. It's only on the sitewide discounts that eBay take the hit.

        • @Maverick-au: on the face, part of the hit on ebay would be offset by the fees anyway.

        • @onebutters:

on the face, part of the hit on ebay would be offset by the fees anyway.

It's why they generally only offer 10% when site wide and your have to enter the voucher code as they know that many people won't enter the code and even if they do they don't lose.

    • Thwir prices went up a notch before they add the discount too.

  • +7

Waiting for this to go down to $319.20 again!

    • +2

Must be great for school kids, fantastic value!

      • Will it play Cod ?

    • +1

If it goes down to that price again, i'm definitely buying one!

      • I'm about to buy one, it comes down to $319.20 with the catch20 code?

    • +1

might even buy that and just upgrade my desktop instead of shelling out for a XPS or Lenovo. Just wonder if I could put up with the screen.

      • Just hook up an external monitor?

        • I need a laptop for travel and portable use, of course i'd hook up a monitor if using at desktop though.

        • @nubzy:

Ahh fair enough, I thought you were just looking to keep this ad a "desktop" pc

    • This is the one with the TN screen instead of the IPS right, does anyone have real world experience with this regarding the viewing angles

      • +1

Yes. They are bad. Like, really bad.

But it's an awesome laptop for the price, with no problems streaming/decoding HD video. I use it as my main desktop with USB3 hub, external HDD, keyboard/mouse/speakers/monitor, doesn't miss a beat.

        • That's good to know, thanks mate, planning to get one for my dad who is not too tech savvy, he just said he needs a good screen… deal hunting continues :)

      • +1

I agree with jonsnow. Viewing angle is seriously bad. I have an Asus 7yo netbook with better viewing. Thought this would be an upgrade…

        • +1

Thanks mate, I'll keep a note

    • Great little laptop. Recommended.

  • +4

This sale contains more stores then just dell…

  • -1

    Where are the bargains?

  • Probably eBay is having another 20% off selected sellers again, they don't do that for just Dell eBay.

  • +4
    • I don't think the deals for XPS look good at all based on what I see on eBay.

  • +1

Would the 20% be off the $1800? Because that's already discounted by 10%. If so, that's a pretty good deal.

  • +2

Are Dell's 4K screens any good?

    • Their warranty beats everyone else. If you have a single white/black/dead pixel you get a replacement panel, no one else does that, at least not when I was purchasing 2 years ago.

      • Silly question: Can you even notice a single dead pixel on a 4k monitor?

        • Is that a pimple or a dead pixel?

        • +2

Not usually but when you are watching a movie with dark scenes and you get a blaring white pixel it's pretty noticeable. I got 2560x1440 with 10bit at ~$600 and Dell replaced my monitor 20 days outside of warranty. The first replacement had a pink hue in one corner so they sent another replacement. Thats why I'm happy to pay for dell support. They paid shipping both ways both times and I received replacement in less than a week both times as well. I've had the 2nd replacement for a little over a year and no issues. It was a used U2713H from outlet with 1 year warranty btw.

Im a bit biased though I was a Dell warranty repair tech in my last job and I bought my mum a laptop from outlet and I've purchased from outlet as well. I don't get discount btw.

      • That applies to bright pixels only. A single black pixel will not get you a replacement.

  • Cant see any decent monitors up on their Ebay store unfortunately again :(

  • Any bargains?

  • Can you get a 3 year on-site warranty with the Dell eBay laptops?

    • You could previously extend warranty after it expired with Dell not sure if that's still the case.

      • Does that extend parts warranty also, or just service?

        • I'd assume both but like I said I use to work them. I don't work for them anymore and I was a technician not warranty sales. Sorry I couldn't help you more.

  • +2

    Why no 34" monitors!!!!!!

    • I'm after on of these too. Hope they put one up during the sale.

  • Do we know what are the possible stores that might also go on 20% tomorrow?

    • +28

I had a list yesterday on the post that ClipIt put up but the post got removed, these are the stores I found:

      • Futu Online
      • Dell Online
      • Grays Online
      • Hard to Find
      • Harvey Norman
      • House
      • Catch of the Day
      • Kitchen Warehouse
      • Shopping Square
      • PC Byte
      • Mighty Ape
      • Princess Polly
      • Zanui
      • Shaver Shop
      • Fresh Cosmetics
      • South Coast Music
      • Thank You Group
      • Amcal
      • Future Gear
      • Style Tread

There's probably a few more, but those landing pages are quite long and might have hidden a few stores down the bottom.

      • +6

Hope it has Appliances Online or TGG. Need to buy washing machine and fridge.

        • -1

Yes hoping for TGG. Need a fridge and they don't raise price for sale.

        • @demiurge: They haven't done it yet on previous sales. They are pretty good in having same prices on their website and ebay store. Highly regard them.

      • Thanks doweyy……ahhh no Ted's :(

      • +1

WISH Harvey Norman would put appliances on eBay..

  • What does everyone think between the Dell XPS 13 versus the HP Elitebook 1040 for a business lap top.

    Both similar specs and price.

    Can't decide.

    • Elitebook is a 14 inch screen and bezels are 10-20mm. XPS is 13 inch with small bezels, so it is a significantly more compact device.

Use the previous model elitebook for work, build quality is great, laptop feels like a tank. XPS by all reports is solidly built as well.

So depends if you want a bigger screen if you're mostly at a desk, or a more compact device for moving around a bit. I have a dock at my desk anyway, so personally I'd go the XPS.

    • Depends what you use it for?

      Spreadsheets, schedules, PPT etc?

For those you 'might' find it maybe a bit too small but the screen should compensate for it with its resolution and you can scale the text side etc up or down to suit your taste. (I'm referring to the juicy QHD http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Dell-XPS-13-7th-Gen-Intel-Core-i7…)

  • Can anyone please suggest cheapest laptop with HDMI 2.0 4k output?

  • +4

"You know honey…for an unadvertised sale, you're doing a lot of yapping about it"

  • They like to keep it 'unadvertised' to give time to jack up prices.

    • +1

I've had quite some success from these sales though, so i guess not everything is jacked. The last Bing Lee one there wasn't that many products being jacked up according to the lists that people compiled before and after using a page scraper.

  • Which gaming laptop to get from the deal?

    • +2

Pretty good price for the specs. Mid range gaming only.

      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Dell-Inspiron-15-7000-Gaming-Core…

      • 1050Ti Graphics card, HQ CPU, FHD Screen - $1519 for the laptop - that's quite a good buy.

        • Can't be beat by a long shot.

        • About a month too early for me to grab one.. can only hope the deal rolls around again in March!

        • @OverburdenedWarrior:

I think it will. It was $1599.00 at JB HIFI A couple weeks ago. I'm sure if you find a reasonable salesperson, they can always discount it to that price.

        • 1050Ti graphics card? Do you have a link? The one I'm seeing still has the GTX 960M

        • @LeavingTheWheel: The description says 960M but if you click on Tech Specs it will show a 1050 Ti.

        • @eecan: OMG you are right. Thanks for the tip. I can't beat this deal now.

      • I'm probably going to shell out for the XPS 15 -with the 1050 (non TI) graphics card, 7th GEN HQ CPU. It comes at $1999.00 - which I think is pretty great too!

        • I may buy at that price if it was the 4K model, but otherwise would go for xps13 9550 refurb for $1399 if I was set on a XPS.

        • +1

          For that price I'd get a Metabox P650HP-G with a 1060 but that's just me :)

        • @nubzy:

I know a few of the programs I use will have scaling issues with the 4K display - so I prefer to just go with the 1080p display.

I assume you mean XPS 15 9550? Where do you get one for $1399!? I would take that in a heartbeat.

        • +1

@Tech and cars: yeah xps15 9550. Refurb on the outlet. They come up all the time.

        • @nubzy: I've been following for a while. Never seen it below $1899.00.

          Maybe I'm blind!

But thank you, I'll be on look out.

        • @Tech and cars: $1899 is for the 4k model. FHD is $1399, it'll come up again but they always sell quick, everything on the outlet does. I still think they are both a bit overpriced for their age and should be reduced by at least $200 each, but eh, people are still buying.

        • @nubzy:

For me - it's the 'most portable' laptop with a decent GPU (anything above 950m is fine for me).

The GPU is quite important to me - Some CAD work/occasional gaming/futureproofing.

Screen has a wide colour gamut - good for editing photos.

I don't know anything that's as 'well built', lightweight, as powerful from specs wise. Happy to hear of alternatives?

Metabox as an example is much bigger and heavier for outright specs.
