Samsung Gear S3 Classic SM-R770 Silver AU Stock $402 (Was $575) Free Shipping @ IT Global Sale

441

I've been wanting one of these for a while now and I haven't seen any deals on OzBargain. They retail for $599 at JB Hi-Fi, The Good Guys and Harvey Norman. The next cheapest is Mobileciti for $489. You would think a grey import is cheaper but one from Kogan costs $489 + shipping which is ridiculous.

Therefore, this as Australian stock for $402 is an absolute bargain!

Key Features

  • Super AMOLED 1.3" Display
  • Smart notifications
  • 4GB internal memory (1.5GB available memory)
  • Samsung Pay compatible
  • Bluetooth v4.2
  • NFC
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n 2.4GH
  • Accelerometer, Barometer, Gyro Sensor, HR Sensor, Light Sensor
  • 2 year Samsung warranty

Note: While checking out with PayPal as payment option, you might get an error message "Unable to communicate with PayPal gateway" or something similar. Just press "Place Order" again and it'll work.

Marked as Expired (Out of Stock) on 27/02/2017 - 11:23 AM

Edit: Please see dfaktz's warning before purchasing. This could be a fake website (or just very badly designed) but it has not yet been confirmed. I have placed an order so I'll confirm if it's legit in a few days. If it turns out to be fake and you have already placed an order, you will have the option of opening a dispute with PayPal or file a credit card chargeback. Confirmed to be legit. It's just a badly designed website.

They also have an eBay store and in the past month, they have received 43 positive feedback so it seems like they are providing goods.

Edit 2: I have received a Fastway consignment email saying that the parcel was picked up from the merchant and is currently at the depot ready for delivery. Looks good so far.

Edit 3: Confirmed to be legit.

    Site looks dodgy..?

    Your Language: sdsd ??

    • +1

Yea it does look dodgy but there have been deals from IT Global Sale on OzBargain previously, so it can't be that dodgy.

Anyway, I've placed an order so that shows my confidence.

WARNING Note that this is personal opinion or advice (depending on how you see it) that I feel I need to let anyone aware of that is interested in purchasing from them
Replying to this just to hook onto the top of the comments so that it's visible to more people.
I would seriously take the trust of this site and any of its claims with a grain of salt.. It's literally leaking SQL queries and I'm able to get customer information (shopping cart outputs) with very little tinkering. I'd hate to see what is possible putting actual time into it.

I first started to look when I saw the site has absolutely no SSL certificate (https) - As a rule of thumb you should NEVER EVER shop anywhere that doesn't have atleast a simple AES-128 cert, preferably a 256 cert… Then things started to get much worse, if you choose any random item and click their 'pay with paypal' link, you get a page with no company provided details and the only name it gives you (where a company name would usually be) is WEI MIN ZHANG.
The source of the website looks like it was taken from another project and just modified.. badly.
The website is registered (for .com.au) under "SJ LG GOODRIDGE MOWING SERVICES" .. above and beyond that, most of the details are wrong for the DNS registration and do not meet our guidelines for domains at all.

Oh.. and all of their "STAY CONNECTED" social media images at the bottom are just there for show, none of them link to anything other than the homepage like "twitter.com"..
Pages like http://www.itglobalsale.com.au/investor_relations and many others have "lorem ipsum" text - This is what web-designers use a placeholder before the real info gets put in. If you've ever made a site or modified a free template, you'll probably know this quite well.

The company they have listed at the bottom who designed their page is.. yet another super generic, untrustable site @ vestigeservices.com with a banner image saying ""With Offshore Options right Across the globel!, we have the solution for every business." .. Not to mention their 'clients' listed are only listed as terrible images straight from the internet of 1999 that pretend to be links. (I could go on for days about that website too, but meh)

Everything in my near decade of professional IT work screams do not give these guys your money. Everything above took me longer to write this than to work out.
The silver lining? Well.. If you checked out with Paypal, I guess you know where your sales insurance lies there.. but it could be a process.
Be safe. Personally I feel like OP is unfairly answering everyone elses qualms with the company/site; intentional or not.

      • Thanks for that huge info. Be interesting to see how this plays up

        • +5

More than welcome, I too am interested.. Just found out the address they list is currently available for lease, an extremely big and nice listing, may I add!
Updated just 6 days ago Seen here .. I might give them the benefit of the doubt.. if this wasn't an extremely common tactic used by people wanting to look like they have a reputable physical location attempting to ease curious customers and back-up claimed reputation. Oh and while writing this I just realized they give yet ANOTHER fake business address in their 'Warranty Information' page. (A scary warranty page btw, even if they are legit and just faking everything else)
The more I dig the worse it gets, heh..

      • Danm, I purchased one. What should I do?
        Thanks.

        • Wait and see then report and cancel the transaction if you used paypal.

        • I have received mine so don't worry. Confirmed to be legit.

      • That is some very good research. The part about the warehouse being leased out is a real eye-opener. I would suggest people to hold off placing new orders until I can verify mine.

To those who have already placed an order, I wouldn't worry too much. PayPal has buyer protection so if it comes to the worst case, you can dispute a claim (and if you funded the payment by credit card, you can also file a chargeback).

I just spoke with them, I was informed that they will post the items today from Sydney.

        • @moe0050:

Thanks, let's hope they actually do!

      • I have received a Fastway consignment email saying that the parcel was picked up from the merchant and is currently at the depot ready for delivery. Looks good so far.

Besides the badly designed website, IT Global Sales have proven to deliver. Confirmed to be legit.

        • Got mine also. Thanks op.

        • I spoke to the owner, he told me there will be more in stock soon.

        • @moe0050:

That's good to know. However the new price is now back up to $479. We're the lucky ones ;)

        • Ah, great to find out, glad nobody has lost money.. other than using an unsecure site. Do you mind asking them why they are using public listed leasings for their addresses?!

  • +3

I have been obsessed with this for months now. This is a great price and the lowest for AU stock (or any really). I have been doing the monitor ebay thing and they usually go up above this price for AU stock.

This watch is for people who think that 1 day of battery life isn't enough.

Doubt any android wear watch will be getting much above 2 days.

Also, to have GPS and an always on display, is nice.

I have a Amazfit pace hoping to get similar feature set for a fraction of the price. I was very wrong! (pace is a terrible device right now).

    • There was a good deal when it first came out. I think it was about this price straight from Samsung

      • I think it was only 20% off RRP from Samsung, so ~$480.

  • +2

Do they sell the Gear s3 Frontier for $402?

    • I'm after that one myself.

    • Love the look of frontier, very close to what i want in a smart watch. If only it can support Android pay rather than Samsung pay and better support for iPhone if one daybi jump to Apple.

    • If they do im on it!

  • +2

The site does look dodgy! For peace of mind I suggest you get it from their eBay store and pay with PayPal for an extra $17 (kinda like insurance)
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Samsung-Gear-S3-Classic-Bluetooth…

    • Yea it does look dodgy but there have been deals from IT Global Sale on OzBargain previously, so it can't be that dodgy.

You're also paying by PayPal on the website so you're not getting any extra protection by paying extra on the online store. Plus, you can file credit card chargeback if necessary anyway.

This watch hasn't reviewed terribly well.

    • +1

I heard the exact opposite. You got any links?

  • Going to save my money to get the proper LTE enabled stuff. Might grab the next Huawei watch with LTE / SIM slot or the Urbane 2 from overseas.

  • +1

only amex and citi support samsung pay in australia

    • Westpac will pretty soon

  • One of better 'smart'watches, but I am not still convinced.

  • choose PayPal and "WEI MIN ZHANG" shows up

    • +1

Yep, that's their PayPal account name.

      • Not everyone can afford payflow pro

  • Do smart watches do anything smart yet? We're now on the 3rd generation and they still seem to be as stupid as ever.

  • I love when you hit a link such as their 'Contact Us' on http://www.itglobalsale.com.au/contacts) on a store website and it shows:

Are you sure it is Australian stock???
By the way, when accessing their warrant (http://www.itglobalsale.com.au/index.php/warranty-informatio…), it actually refer to the link that is not working!!!:
Faulty items and how to claim the warranty
If a product doesn’t work when you receive it or breaks down during its warranty period, please contact us immediately. In many cases the issue can be solved quickly and easily by our experienced technical staff, and you may not need to return the product to us for repair.

    • +1

Yea, the website could be better designed but it should be legit, given that they have a history on OzBargain and Whirlpool.

Are you sure it is Australian stock???

It does say "AU STOCK" in the title. I placed an order. Once I receive it, I'll personally verify it for you if it is indeed Australian stock.

      • Hey, just wanted to check if it is AU stock? (That is, does samsung pay work on it?)

        • Whoops, I forgot I was supposed to report on that. Let me try it now.

        • Just added my card onto Samsung Pay and it works so far. Haven't tested it in store yet.

        • @ronnknee:

That's cool. I think if it's not available it would not let you add the card.

          Thanks man!

  • waiting for s4

    • The S3 is only 4 months old. The S4 should be released in another 8 months.

      • yep

  • Can I pay with credit card? It's not showing that option. I don't want to go through paypal.

    • It doesn't look like you can pay by credit card only. They only accept PayPal, bank transfer or cash on delivery.

    • +1

Why would you not want to use PayPal? Genuinely curious as I can't think of a situation where not using PayPal is advantageous

..oh, except if your credit card gives you bonus points for certain type of expenditure? But I can't imagine that would be a factor at all here

  • At least the Samsung Gear S app on iPhone is now available
Not as integrated as the iwatch but fine for notifications, looks better and the Gear S3 battery life is 2 days

I got mine from B&H shipped USD$330 - I should have waited a bit longer and got this deal with local warranty

  • Out of Stock

    • Thanks, updated.

  • Honest review -

I picked the Classic up reasonably close to launch on a 20% off deal for S7 owners and have been thoroughly impressed. Launch was a bit dud with no Spotify app, poor S Voice and slow uptake of third party support. These issues have since been remediated.

Does some things better than Apple Watch, other things worst.

Overall, if you are a S7/S6/Note owner, do consider. Integration is so good!

    PROS
    - Tizen is a Great OS with a really well thought out experience
    - Bezel scroll wheel makes the device easy to use for people (Miles ahead of little Apple Watch bezel and small screen)
    - 2.5-3 days of battery life depending on use
    - Nice 90 degree charging cradle lets the watch be a bedside clock when not in use
    - Call quality on wrist is great
    - Superb integration to Galaxy and S services
    - Silicon bands are really nice
    - Find My Phone app is a lifesaver
    - Great screen quality

    CONS
    - Samsung Pay is pretty useless in Aus
    - If you use S Planner, Outlook AND Gmail, some notifications can be redundant and there isn't much to do about it
    - Some meeting invites don't shut up
    - Some gestures are a little bit silly, i.e. long press on front initiates change of watch face (this happens annoyingly often)
    - Miles behind Apple Watch in app support
    - S Voice isn't as great at voice recognition and adaption as Siri
    - Probably too big for most women
    - Leather band isn't the highest quality

    • I think you can't put Samsung pay as a "con" since I use it all the time. Just need citibank card which I'm sure most ozbargainers would have with the lifetime no annual fee platinum card on offered awhile back.

      • I do agree that when it works, it's a pro, hands down.

To that point "Samsung Pay is pretty useless in Aus" should better be worded as "Samsung Pay is a great feature mired by limited support, with only CitiBank and Amex supporting the payment service to date"

I really hope they push out a few more banks and find a way to let users scan in loyalty cards on their phones and let the watch tap it.

      • Leather band isn't the highest quality

Yea, that's one of my peeves so far. It looks really good but when strapping onto the wrist, it feels like cardboard. The strap also creases easily.

Oh well, luckily the straps are easily replaceable.
