    Yay that teddy bear again

  • So this camera version definitely works in Oz and iOS app is readily updatable?
I ask because when I was looking at the previous version, I think it was locked down to China. Also my experience with the mi home app (to use with my xiaomi ants ip camera), was that it stopped connecting after applying an app update.

    • Definitely works. This is a Yi (Xiaoyi) camera so it's not locked down to China as it's designed for the international market and uses the Yi Home app.

    • This camera will never lock to China. The one you mentioned is a totally different camera. For that camera, just use the Russian Firmware to remove the lock.

  • Hi op, sorry noob here, can I connect multiple cameras to same app??

    • +1

      Yes.

      • Thanks

      • Since you're our go-to guy here, any chance you could bug them for a meizu EP-51 deal?

        • I'll see what I can come up with.

  • Is there a Chinese version and a US/EU version for this model?

    • Yes. This is the US/EU version.

      • Awesome, thanks.
Are there other differences between this and the 720p Dome, other than the resolution?

        • Improved resolution and quality.

        • @Clear: can it be used outdoor (let's say mounted to the balcony)? Thank you!

        • +2

@Ametric: It can be used outdoors and mounted, but it's not waterproof.

        • @Clear: Thank you, need to think then how to protect it from rain, or probably put it under the eave.

What's the best available price for a Yi Home 2?

  • can it write to NAS or external HDD?

  • Was looking at something like this to use in my toddlers room. Is this the best option or are their other cameras out there?

  • Hi OP

    Link shows $84.99

    • As per the post, apply the coupon YIHOME1080P in the shopping cart.

  • Hi Rep,
Previously you have been able to negotiate 2x for $120, can you do this again?
Can you please send the code if yes…
    Thanks

    • Was that the Yi Done 720p or the Chinese Xiaomi Mijia 1080p?

  • This may be nooby, but this model have the inbuilt backdoor stuff that previous webcams etc had issues with?

    • I have not heard of a backdoor in the Yi Dome cameras.

  • I want to set up a camera to protect the stuff in my bedroom while renting.
Would this work well for that?
