Nintendo Wii Bundle available (again) at $198 from Harvey Norman.
Shown in latest 'gaming' centric catalog and on HN's website so I'm assuming this is nationwide??

Note: No mention of Black or White bundle limitations so I'm not sure what would happen if you tried to get a Black one…
tough call… hard to say if it will get any cheaper…

im still upset about missing out on the Myer One mothers day Wii deal… whens someone going to do something like that again… but with good amount of supplies!
I wouldn't call this a bundle as it's jut the console in it's normal pack though it is a cheap price.
not trying to be argumentative… but how is it not a bundle? it bundles the wii console, remote, nunchuck and wii sports. the 'normal' pack is a bundle… and HN calls it a bundle too… i'm just going off their website
Harvey Norman can be stupid as with any business. The reason I say this is because the only way to but the wii officially is with wii sports and a nunchuck and remote. Same with PS3, there's a minimum amount of stuff you get with it that always comes with it new. Get what I'm saying? Normally (for me at least) a bundle includes some extra game or an extra controller set etc
yeah yeah i exactly see what your saying but i still do see it as a bundle in a sense. and does Nintendo call it a bundle too?? the term 'bundle' is relative i suppose…
Not that I think that it deserves that ridiculous $399 RRP price but why is it coming down to $199. Is the Wii2 about to be released?
The RRP was changed recently to $299
Here's an article where the Nintendo president basically says that they don't want to release the Wii 2 until we're sick of the current one.

For those of you who want to go to HN and have the time to argue it out. The photos on the site shows both a white and a black wii and also the Vacation Beach Party Game. See if you can get them to give you a black wii with that bonus game which retails for $50, by the way. I got a black wii with the bonus game the last time it was on special.
yeah i was going to mention that in the post but i decided against it in the end. i think they just recycled the pics from the last offer… the last one actually mentioned you could also get the black one in the description and that the game was included…
probably worth arguing though lol. i always enjoy a good argument with the salesperson ;)
Is there a difference in price between the colours normally? I didn't think there was even though the black one's newer????

See I would most likely do it then as long as the boss approves, though with that I could probably do without approval
@spare13: I tried last time for a black one in store ended up with white.
Sales rep said he couldn't even get a black one for himself at that price. He asked manager for me and himself still no go.
Guess it probably depends on the store. (mine wouldn't do it as the product code on advertisement was for white one only)

pretty sure same software version. just the obvious cosmetic difference… some people prefer black.

only thing is try to get an older one without 4.3 (latest firmware), homebrew is available upto 4.2 ATM
I'm not too knowledgeable with wii (only did homebrew on 2 consoles) but 4.3 has no benefits other than removing many methods of homebrew. The best thing about the Wii is the ability to softmod don't ruin it by getting a newer console (I believe there are black Wii's without 4.3)
i have bought 10 wii's for friends n softmodded them from all different stores, all of them black wiis and i have only ever got 4.2E wii's
By looking at the box is there anyway in telling what version of firmware it comes with? Or is it just the luck of the draw? Thinking of getting one and a wiimode, what is the best firmware to try and get?
Hey guys if you're looking at getting the Wii, I'd say get it now, chances are they're old stock which are still on firmware 4.2E.
I bought my Wii about 2-3 weeks ago when it was $198 - ended up getting a pricematch from EB Games for a black Wii and it was firmware version 4.2E.
You might be lucky with the white Wii's - they could be 4.2E and below, but with the black Wii's, they're definately 4.2E.

Just went to Harvey Norman on Warrigal Road. They don't have any black consoles. The sales person there suggested the discount was only for white consoles. At a minimum this is deceptive marketing as the website clearly shows both white and black consoles with no mention of conditions on the sale.

Yes, it's perfectly legal to mod your Wii, allowing it to play downloaded games off the hard drive so you don't have to buy any games. Nintendo promote and encourage this because it means they lose money while the customers get games for free. This is what Nintendo want right?

I picked up the black console and got them to throw in the beach party game as it was pictured in the online ad….otherwise its false advertising. I got it for $172.20. I don't even need one but I couldn't resist!
If you are after white and don't care about the bonus game or can't be bothered pushing the point you could head to Rebel or Amart and pick one up for $155 with price beat :)
