Acer Aspire E5-575 €404.3 (~AU $573) Delivered [15" FHD, i5-7200U, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, AZERTY Keyboard] @ Amazon France

210

Daily deal from Amazon France, ends 10am eastern time. Incredible price for the specs, VAT is removed at checkout to bring the final price down.

The major issue and dealbreaker though is that it comes with a AZERTY keyboard layout, so you'll probably need to get QWERTY stickers to stick over it (or find a keyboard replacement somewhere)

NOTE: Will say that Amazon won't deliver to Australia on the listing page, just ignore it and add to cart, you'll still be able to checkout.

"This seller can not ship the selected item to Australia"

    • Sorry my bad, it'll display that on the page but you'll still be able to checkout, thanks added to desc

      • were you able to pay for it?

I didn't buy it, but I reached final price of checkout, so yes it works. I've posted many past amazon deals where this was also the case.

  • I think the ssd is 256GB?

    • Thanks updated

  • If it wasn't for the crap keyboard on this I'd be all over it.

  • I'm so tempted but AZERTY is such a pain

    • You can get replacement keyboards on Ebay in Australia …. easy to fit as I found out when I was upgrading RAM.
There is also a shop in the city (Melbourne, flinders st) that fits keyboards to laptops ….. they wanted $30 labour ….. did it myself and spend the money on beer ….. they wanted $50 for keyboard and labour but I had already got the keyboard.

I think this one is pretty decent, BUT KEYBOARD IS AZERTY ~$815 AUD inc. delivery - HP OMEN 15-ax009nf Laptop Gaming 15 "Full HD Black (Intel Core i5, 8 GB RAM, 1 TB Hard Drive + SSD 256 GB, Nvidia GeForce GTX 960M, Windows 10) - https://www.amazon.fr/HP-15-ax009nf-Portable-GeForce-Windows…

    • Woah nice find, it's a quad core i5-6300hq as well, shame the keyboards are ruining these ripper deals. Reviews look great as well, so tempted

  • Cant you run some utility which will re-program the keyboard keys?

    • I imagine that telling Windows that it's a US English layout will rectify that - I've seen people with the US layout wonder why they get a @ instead of a " and it turns out that they've chosen the UK option for whatever reason.

    • sure you can, but the physical keyboard layout is different too, eg key sizes are different, and their location on the KB is different.

  • how come when I look at the picture of the keyboard it has the qwerty?

    • That's usually the case with french listings I've seen (same with UK keyboard listings), assume manufactures can't be bothered taking product images for the 2421901 different keyboard layouts.

      • Are they those many???
        WoW!

Asus Zenbook UX410UQ-GV084T Ultrabook 14inch IPS Metal Gray (Intel Core i5, 8 GB RAM, 500 GB hard drive + SSD 128 GB, Nvidia GT 940MX 2G, Windows 10, 2 years warranty)

    Works out to exactly $1000

I jumped in and bought it, i dont know what im going to do about the keyboard

(it says 817 euro but when you put it in the cart it becomes cheaper for some reason)

    • Recommend you cancel your order and get this instead

      • I'm scared 13.3inches will be too small

I'm used to a 15.6inch as a web developer. What do you think?

        • I'm not really sure regarding screen size, to me I prefer a 13.3" ultrabook for uni and 15.6" laptop for home. If you prefer larger screens I think it's best to stick with 15.6". There isn't too big of a difference between 13.3" and 14" in my opinion.

I prefer the Amazon US deal as it's cheaper, there won't be any keyboard issues, and theres a larger SSD.

The france deal does have a dedicated 940mx gpu though, but the integrated hd 620 on the US shouldn't be too bad

    • (it says 817 euro but when you put it in the cart it becomes cheaper for some reason)

If you read the description you would know that this is because the 20% VAT is removed.
