This is to register a DOMAIN only HOSTING is EXTRA

  • can't find where to enter code
    nvm found

    • entering the code at Step 4 :)

  • awesome. just got a .com domain. cost AU$1.48 in total. promotional price in 1st year only.

Unless it's changed recently, just be aware it's set to auto-renew at full price by default after a year, and you'll need to drill down several levels into the cumbersome control panel to switch this off. Also be aware that Godaddy has a history of using dirty tricks to prevent domains being transferred away easily.

I think there's an option to set the domain to manual renew when you're checking out now, but good advice nonetheless. :)

    • yes, godaddy are known for dirty tricks.
This is a good deal, but I'll avoid them.

Awesome Deal.. created 3 but now wondering wht i'll do wid these? :o

    • +1

How'd you get 3? The offer is limited to one domain per customer. :)

    • Get yourself a cool email address with Google apps and park the domain to earn some $$$ for starters.

  • Hmm, got to payment stage then noticed they wanted a credit card or debit card for Paypal payments. Does that mean there will be an overseas transaction fee? Could it come up to more than the $0.99+$0.20 registration?

BTW, .info domains are also on sale, $0.99/first year. In case you are wondering how come Paypal was accepted, I was looking at a .info domain.

  • so.. unless we purchase the private package, all our contact info is out there for the world?

    • That's how whois works and is standard for any registrar.

  • just purchased it and it appears to not have my details after doing a jwhois query. may have to drill down deeper to obtain it.

    • Yeah it does show up with a more verbose query :\ guess you might have to do an alias / p.o. box to hide yourself

      • so.. should I be hiding my personal details?

  • Awesome, already a long time customer with a handful of domain names purchased and managed by GoDaddy.

Just added another one on the list for $1.17USD thanks to this offer!

I had bad dealings with this mob. Due to fat fingers, the password (that I entered twice) wasn't what I thought it was. I contacted them repeatedly to confirm the password (to the email address I had provided) and after MONTHS of trying I gave up. They had effectively hijacked my domain name.

I have little time for GoDaddy. No customer service. No support.

GoDaddy is the worse domain rego company ever, I won't neg since $1 is so cheap but transfer it out of there after the first year. If you plan to stay don't add any extra services even if they say free, after a year they aren't free and they make it almost impossible to renew your domain without extra charges for the "free" services.

  • just registered my first domain. offer still valid

  • I host over 300 domains with Godaddy and I have never had any issues. Highly recommended. Thanks for offer :)

    • I agree - many domains with them, and, aside from their long-winded checkout procedure, no problems.

  • Thanks for the post.

  • Godaddy's domain manager is great. Got me a few .co's a couple of months ago.

  • just signed one .. still available :)

A quick heads up regarding privacy options and automatic renewal:

Free privacy is available for registrations of five or more. (Which is tempting for very cheap deals like this, and the ongoing $1 .info registrations.)

The risk, though, is that in the second year, you will be charged for the privacy as well as the registration. In order to renew the domain without the (expensive) privacy option, you will have to request a password and username from a separate company that holds the privacy dimension of your registration, and then log in there to change it.

GoDaddy will set your domains to automatically renew unless you change that setting.

  • cheers just got one

  • Everything is alright with hot girls on the front page. Persuades u to join

  • Was gunna sign up but I dunno what to do with it lol

  • Thank you.. got one and its still valid :)

  • dammit!

"The promo code you entered is invalid, expired, or ineligible for the items you are purchasing."

    oh well.

  • You can only use it for 1 item. Not multiple.

    • The promo code you entered is invalid, expired, or ineligible for the items you are purchasing.

      Pretty sure it is expire.
