I found it in Fountain gate and Casey central however they said stock is found across majority of the target stores :)

    • +1

Sorry done! Was taking a while to upload

Just found out JB also has it for $99. You can price match with them I guess.

    But is it mini?

  • Not much of a discount.

Holding out for a Hanimex Revival.

Didn't know it supported colour, as we only had a Black & White đź“ş

    • I had that one when i was little

Still have one in my collection.

    • +2

Ha, nice… but that's far too advanced. Here's my Hanimex, the good ol 666S: https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/67715/48573/hanimex_66… Nice 'satanic' model number ;) Two players & four built-in games that are all basically just 'pong' in different guises. Friggin challenging too, especially in high speed mode! I've been holding onto this for years and it still works perfectly. I've been tempted to mod it to include an AV line-out but the older it gets the less I want to touch it. I may now go get an RF-AV converter box instead. Gotta be worth at least…. $20 ;)

      • +1

I have that hanimex one too but mine has the gun for skeet shooting. Mine is in the original box too.

        • Whoa, nice! I had no idea it had a gun attachment, very nice :)

    • I want a Tempest first.

      • Then a Vectrex

  • +3

This is fantastic… except for one thing.
It doesn't include any Activision games!

    Connection: Outputs - A/V Composite Video/Mono Audio

    hmmm

its too much to expect hdmi, i suppose only nintendo can get that bit right

  • +3

I mean, why waste $89 when you can get an Atari 2600 emulator then download the game roms on the emulator. Not really worth buying.

    • +4

Also I put it to you that a lot of the games of this era are basically… "play for a few minutes then play something else"… i found that in my emulation adventures, full arcade games or Commodore C64 level games are where its truly interesting.

      FYI, here are the games:

    • Second that. Just use a free emulator.

I'd also recommend getting controllers that feel like the originals. I find its more immersive.

        • +2

Do they make one that the rubber boot pops out when you go full retard.

        • @Steptoe:

On my Amstrad, one of those Olympic games got me fired up that I broke two controllers playing it. Why make a game that where your character ran faster the quicker you moved the stick left to right?

          (profanity) you Daley Thompson!

        • @FabMan:
Sounds like the game Decathlon on the Atari.

        • @kahn: That's the one!

  • +1

the next Atari flashback is a portable and has some Activision games in it, from memory. Will be nice when that finally makes it's way over here.

  • +2

    No Pitfall, what a shame.

    • Pitfall is an Activision game. Just looks like Atari owned games on there.
I still have my original Atari 2600 stored away with Pitfall :)
Can remember playing Space Invaders and Defender for days non-stop.

  • normal price. where's the bargain?

    • It's a retro games console. Just the fact it exists makes it a deal on ozb.

  • I actually had the original one of these back in the day. Can't speak to the quality of the current ones, but that one was pretty sturdily built. Also got it for like 40 bucks in Kmart so kind of odd how it's gone up in price over the years, but oh well.

  • Its dosnt feel like retro gaming unless you have to type in the code yourself before you play the game.
