  • What can I buy at Rebel for $5 or $10?

These products have just been on half price special at Woolworths and Coles. What are the chances of them going on special before the expiry of the promotion?

    • +3

promo period lasts for 3 months, i reckon good chance. They seem to be half price every couple of months.

      • Yes, but sometimes it used to be 6 months between half price specials for this product.

I don't think I'll be taking up the offer anyway. I read the terms and conditions and if I've interpreted them correctly, the specially marked products are only sold at stores owned by Metcash. I think this is the company who owns IGA. I don't shop there so I won't be taking up the promotion.

        • OP, would you be able to look up exactly which stores are participating in this promotion and list them in the post.

        • +3

@pointscrazy: I've seen them in the last few days at both Coles and Woolies

        • @Imbrog:

I've reread the terms and conditions and now I'm even more confused. Why would the stock be in the stores now when the promotion doesn't start until 14/05/17

        • @pointscrazy:

I just checked the T&Cs and Facebook, but wasn't able to find a list of stores, sorry.
I've contacted Sanitarium to confirm which stores will be stocking the promotional products and will update when they get back to me :)

        • @Katie2014:

          Thank you for your efforts.

        • +1

@Katie2014: I just got some tonight from Woolies (click and collect from when they were on special) and they had the voucher on them…but no use as the T&Cs say that the purchase has to be 14/5-4/8).

        • +1

          @ozzie freddo:

Ah, thanks for that - I'll edit the post with that info :)

        • @ozzie freddo: Bit misleading for people who purchase them straight off the shelves.

        • +2

@ozzie freddo: Am I missing something here? If you have a packet with the code inside why can't you just wait until 14 May to submit it? Surely there's no way for them to know when you purchased the pack?

        • +4

@Marlboro Man: They say that you have to keep your receipt as proof of purchase and "produce it when requested"..and the receipt is dated. I guess it's a bit of bluff to deter people from just pulling the voucher off the pack in store without buying the product. BTW they are stuck on very well and virtually impossible to remove (not that any ozbargainer would consider doing that. We are here to get stuff cheaply but honestly, not by stealing). :)

        • Metcash "chain" includes IGA. It seems discriminatory that staff who work there (and their families) cannot enter when there are no restrictions on Coles and Woolworths staff who are also selling the voucherised packs.

      • UP&GO 6-packs were half price last week at Woolworths, so hopefully they will be again in time.

    • I agree, what is there to buy?

    • +5

What can I buy at Rebel for $5 or $10?

Are you serious? Its an easy $10 off whatever you were going to buy, up to $50 each. $50 is my son's soccer boots for the season, or half the price of some new cycling shorts for me. I reckon post-season team jerseys will be $50 too.

      • -3

I'm glad it will work out for you but I don't shop at Rebel Sport as I see them as being overpriced on everything. If I did end up with a $10 credit or a $50 credit I'd be looking at clearance stock on items or other cheap stock of items I'd usually buy elsewhere. I'm guessing they would sell something for $50 that I would buy elsewhere at $25 or less.

        • +3

Fair enough, but when I can buy a pair of last season's Asics Gel Lethal Ultimate soccer boots at Rebel for $149, I'm pretty happy. They're $200+ elsewhere, and $50 from this offer will make them even better.

        • +5

You're working so hard to spend money on stuff you don't need …

        • @sheikyerbouti: good choice - my favourite boots too.
soccer season - hard to find special at the moment.

  • +1

THings to note from the terms and conditions:
    1. It mentions Metcash retailers are ineligible to claim…hence I think Metcash are IGA retailers.
    1. If you buy the Weet-bix Go products the claim is on a different website from above, http://www.weetbix.com.au/rebel

    • +1

Thanks! I've added in these details :)

    • +3

The Weet-bix site immediately redirects to the Up & Go site and uses the same account. So you can accumulate dollars from Weet-bix and Up & Go products on the same account.

Source: I have packs of Up & Go and Weet-bix

  • damn. wish it were this week. Just bought a bunch of up&go and weetbix go biscuits

  • +1

Thanks for all the effort and posting. I've shared it with some of my friends

  • +1

Just letting you all know that Coles is selling this product 50% off at the moment $2.30 a pack. So get in while you can.

    • It doesn't start until the 14th though so probably won't still be on special then.

      • Interesting. They had the specially marked packets out and everything.

  • +5

Woolworths have the 6 pack for $5 from the 10th May, so you will be able to get them from the 14th at that price.

  • anyone else getting this error Please ensure you have selected the address from the autocomplete dropdown when trying to register?

    • I can't register cos it says "Sorry, there is an account already set up under this address. Unfortunately, there can only one claim account per household. Please see the Terms and Conditions for further details or contact our Customer Team on: 1800 673 392.
Please ensure you have selected the address from the autocomplete dropdown."

No one else in my household has registered, dunno what is going on.

      • got the same error here :S not sure what's going on

      • That's their rubbish terms.I tried number 1-30 on the street where I live and none can be registered.

      • Also get the same error.

  • I was able to register in the end. Pop ups were stopping the address drop down being shown.

  • +2

I can see there is a flaw here. Account is limited to one per residential address but the e-voucher is sent to email account instead of residential address by post.

So you can actually register all addresses of your street and associate each account with a different email address.

This campaign will not run fairly, I am afraid.

  • My address is not working for me

    • I think all Australian addresses are not working as I already tried some remote areas.Someone will report to the website to fix it.

  • Would be good if I could actually create an account first.

  • +2
    • +1

Was wondering how it worked to get the $50, cheers.

    • thanks Yummy, very helpful picture. try to figure out how this works

  • I tried real addresses and none worked then after 15 minutes one random address worked

    Please fix upandgo

    • Same here… nothing worked for me until I used facebook to sign in and then entered my address

  • Shame these are so sweet and packed with sugar, ~8g per 100g.

    • +1

You can get the reduced sugar variety which bumps the sugar down from 7.7g to 4.7g per 100mL (for the Chocolate varieties). Also bumps the health star ratings from 4.5/5 to 5/5 if it matters.

As someone who drinks Chocolate Up & Go on a regular basis, I actually prefer the reduced sugar version (as you said, the standard ones are way too sweet!)

  • Do these work as a meal replacement? I'll have one for breakfast and I'm good to go? How do they taste?

  • +1

there was an error when I put in my house address this morning.
    tried again and it worked.

Not sure if they fixed it on their end.

  • +1

Fixed, I think. Worked for me this morning around 10.30.

  • Honeycomb 3 pack is selling for $2.50 at Woolies.

    so 2.5*10= $25 for $50 in vouchers.

  • +1

Yep can confirm it works, they've finally fixed it.

  • Can you buy a whole heap at once (on 1 receipt) then just enter 1 code per day? I assume so.

  • +2

Important info from the terms and conditions on using the Rebel voucher:

To use the entire amount of your rebel cash voucher, you will need to use in one transaction. Unfortunately, any unused balances left after the first transaction will not be able to be used again on future transactions

So you need to use the voucher all at once otherwise you will lose any balance you have left.

  • +1

Is anyone else getting the issue where their codes have already been entered? I've been trying some of my codes and half are working…

    • Had this happen for the first time today. Will email them and see what they say…

      • same here experienced it today. will email them.

        • Same here,, did anyone find out why? i've got 5 codes to enter and non of them are working..

      • Happened to me for the first code i put in today. What response did you get from them?

        • They were really quick to reply and gave me a new code which worked fine.

        • @flipsahoy: cheers, i will contact them

  • +2

    Got my $50 gift card.

    • Hey did you have to produce the store receipts? I've stupidly hit no receipt at the self checkout..

  • Does anybody know if its possible to use two $50 vouchers in one transaction on the rebel website? I would like to make 2 $50 purchases and pay shipping only once instead of making two separate transactions.

    • No,one voucher per transaction.

    • +1

You may be able to use multiple vouchers in store

      • Yep, just got my Under Armour shoes today with 2x vouchers, in store. Free pair of shoes, loving it.

Will get more U&G whenever they are on sale again. And then more free shoes. Bloody loop hole, loving it.

        • How did you get 2 $50 vouchers? Did you just make 2 accounts?

        • @tastycheeks:
Yeah. Say hi to your neighbour's address.

        • @Yummy:
Ooh crafty. I'm assuming they don't check for personal details when claiming the vouchers?

        • +1

          @tastycheeks:
I think you can fake address, DOB & mobile. But try to use same name or add middle name initial, etc. You will need to provide a print out of the email voucher/s as the cashier will keep 'em. The email does not contain any of your private details. Although do brings your receipts & U&G coupons, just in case. Or a driver license in worst case scenario.

          ~~

          Kind Regards,
          UP&GO

Edit: yeah so no, they didn't ask for my personal ID. I just asked them if they accept evoucher.

        • @Yummy: Does it come with a barcode?

        • +1

          @Yummy:
Yeah I would've thought once you get the voucher, you're all good and rebel will just treat it like any other voucher/gift card. I doubt rebel will ask you to provide the receipts - that sounds more like sanitarium's job.

        • @TheOneWhoKnocks:
No barcode. Just a lazy text email, exactly like above.

        • Could you have used more of the $50? I take these products regularly anyway so can stockup and get free vouchers at the same time.

  • +1

anywhere these are on special at the moment please?

    • +1

No,special price starts on 24th May in Coles.

      • Thank you. For some reasons we no longer get catalogues in our letterbox.

  • 6 packs are $5 at Coles this week, bought 10 x 6 packs yesterday

    • they go on half price quite often.

    • Can you please explain how you can claim 10 voucher? I thought there is a limit of 1 per day

      • just enter each code day after day

  • Stack with Amex Statement Credits (Sydney only?) for $20 statement credit on $70+ spend
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/306769

If you get the maximum $50 worth of credit buying the $2.50 Weetbix Go or $5 Up and Go, then it's a total of $75 out of pocket ($50 for Amex after cashback + the $25 for the qualifying products) for a total saving of $45 ($20 cashback plus $25 from the promo after expenses) on purchases of $120 or more.

Even better if you can find them for half price.

    • +1

Dont forget to pay with ~5% off woolworts gift card for even more savings! (If buying from Woolworth's)/use flybuys offers for Coles…

    • Don't get this. If you are paying with voucher at rebel therefore you won't be using your Amex to spend $70 right?

  • I can only enter 1 code, is that the limit per day? EDIT yes.. T&Cs said so…

    • but we can enter up 5 codes to reach 50 dollars totally? is that correct?

      • +1

That's my understanding. Over 5 days.

  • Some items at Rebel Sport have two prices - regular prices and member prices (for rebel loyalty card members)
Can these be redeemed against member prices?

  • Are there any coles stores selling the choc 6 packs with the rebel vouchers? Few I've been to haven't got them.

    • Which state? I've seen plenty in both Top Ryde and Epping NSW.

      • +1

WA - how did I manage to omit that detail…
