          @gimme:

Gosh you're tiring. It is already longer since what was meant to be contingency will be fully used up. He was planning to have it shipped out well before 30 business days. Then it became 30 business days and then end of June.

        • -1

          @djc926:
When someone says within 30 days it means max 30 days before you can claim it as delayed.

        • -1

          @gimme:
Do i have your permission to claim it's been delayed now, the one that knows all?

  • Is there anywhere to get this for $400 or under?

    • +3
      • How long does shipping take?

        • It says it right on the page…

Delivery: Estimated between Thu. 20 Jul. and Wed. 2 Aug.

        • @f4te:

I'd honestly get it quicker just waiting then

        • @nnolan:

          dunno about that…

  • +2

I honestly couldn't believe how you guys all jumped on this.
I am sure it will arrive but it will be late.
You could have got it cheaper, sooner and with better chance of aftercare elsewhere.
And it appears, better general communication which is the primary reason you to a small guy.

If he sells 200 at 50 profit each then he makes 10k ..good work for ordering and posting out.

    • I really hope they are making more than that. After taxes it's probably not worth the hassle. Not to mention having to deal with aftercare. I wouldn't do it anyway but good luck to them.

    • +2

Yeah..I can only blame myself for getting caught up in the hype within OzB haha.

Lesson learned I guess, was a mistake in hindsight given everyone could have gotten it cheaper but was lulled in by the OP being super responsive when the deal wasn't live and still attracting buyers but his basically gone quiet here which is disappointing to say the least.

      • +4

That's the dodgy part, super responsive at the start, but clearly avoiding certain questions completely, and then pretty much disappears (5 posts in about a month). There is absolutely no way this person can be intent on running a business, it just doesn't make sense. Too many red flags.

        • +5

I hope it all works out for OP and everyone gets their order however as a fellow small business owner, I do empathise with OP.

I personally went through the trials of fire with eBay for several years prior to jumping into posting on ozbargain with my own website.
I'm sure there are quite a few lessons learnt if this is OPs first business - my best guess in this case is unforeseen complications with supplier relationships / no contingency plans / import taxes / GST / insurance / actual shipping costs / PayPal, credit card and international fees etc.

Shoot me a PM if you are looking for assistance/guidance. More than happy to help where I can!

        • +1

I think people do recognise the difficulties he may be facing, they are angry about the lack of information and communication when he was clearly available on ozbargain when he was promoting his product and disappearing once he got everyone's money.

Seriously his last comments were 3 days ago and about the Australian warranty and how "gimme was not associated with RoboGuy". Absolutely nothing to do with the concerns most people are raising. It's obvious that he's still reading these comments, just ignoring the ones that are in the 'too hard' basket, not the best way to run a business regardless of your age.

        • +1

          @dread22:

Totally agree. At least someone understands the real problem here.

Who gives crap about whether a nobody on the internet is associated with Roboguy? That's not even what people are wondering about.

People are more pissed off about the lack of transparency than the slipped delivery date as I am. This is a bloody robot vacuum and not having it in my hands for another week or so is not the end of the world but it does really piss me off that he's not taking control of the situation and keeping everyone informed about the situation.

  • +2

Well, I've had enough and it is clear that delivery will be delayed beyond expectation.
I have pulled the pin and have requested a refund.
I have lost all faith in the seller so no longer place any value on the warranty being provided either.
Will place an order elsewhere and get it within 3-5 days instead.
Good luck to those sticking it out.

    • Where for the same price?

  • +2

Interested to know how many people are actually still waiting for this to arrive? How much longer can we sit without any clue on ETA?

    • +1

Giving him until Monday 26th. If I don't hear anything, at least an update, im out.
Will try for a refund through Roboguy, but if that's not forthcoming, paypal dispute.

It's not the waiting thats the problem, its the unknown. Looks like they were shipped by slow boat from China, without tracking, so who knows how long its going to take?

      • +1

Yeah sounds fair. If we don't hear anything by close of business tomorrow, which is meant to be the 30th business day for delivery then I'm pulling the pin as well. I'll jump on this ebay deal through shoppingsquare, which is cheaper anyway.. And delivered within around 17/18 days if you go by Jajaminx comment below.
        http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/192189454404

      • I'm with you on the 26th deadline. Need to see something solid from robo. Not more vagueness.

  • hmm im getting a bit impatient too. op any updates?

  • In same boat, prepared to wait til friday, if no updates I'm pulling the pin.

  • Bought mine from shoppingsquare on 05/06.

Got a message from SS with tracking and courier details.
Emailed Toll to change delivery address and I've been told it will arrive in Melbourne tonight.
    Estimated delivery tomorrow or Friday.

I feel sorry for you guys…

  • I have requested for a refund last Wednesday. He responded saying he is disappointed(is he even aware how many more people here are disappointed by him?) and we are looking into refund and have not received any further updates or even response to another email sent regarding status. It maybe because he is flooded with request of refunds from disappointed Ozbargainers. Poor communication and experience deter any further dealings with this seller.

    • He can ignore if he wants to. It will just lead to Paypal disputes.

I have already ordered from another ebay seller and guess what it's been shipped already from Melbourne and I should get it by early next week.

It didn't cost me a single cent more than Roboguy. I guess I won't have warranty but Roboguy warranty may not even be worth the paper it's written on.

      • Link please?

      • +1

For your peace mind and for those who have asked, the PayPal dispute period is still 180 days. We do hope that you will not feel the need to use this process, but that you will contact us if you do have any concerns prior to lodging a dispute with PayPal.

This was the comment posted by Roboguy a while back and because he encouraged us to contact first before disputing with Paypal, I thought I'll give him the benefit of doubt and give him a chance to promptly attend to any concerns, but I guess I was hoping too much.

Initially I thought it was well worth paying the extra for peace of mind and 1 year warranty and supporting local business, but if he doesn't seem to care about the concerns of people that bought from him, I can't imagine how much headache to come for after service.

I will be disputing with paypal and regard this as a well lesson learnt.

    • I requested a refund too and I think I just pretty much the same response about being 'disappointed' that I want to 'walk away from this great deal'. Was advised 2-3 business days for a response and have not heard anything back.

      • -1

so is it worth contacting Roboguy and getting another generic response of wait for 2-3 days more or did you just report a dispute directly via Paypal to request for a refund?

        • +1

If you haven't already, I'd at least start the process by emailing him first, then follow up within a reasonable timeframe if he hasn't responded. I'm not sure how PayPal disputes work as I've fortunately not had to go through that process previously but I think they'd want to see what actions you've taken to resolve it with the seller first.

        • @sparathecat:

Thanks, would like to give him a chance - I feel I already did since I stayed this long before deciding to pull the trigger and back out - but if I were to cancel my order with Roboguy, I don't want to get given the run around with his apparently common wait 2-3 days with no response before you have to, in the end, still lodge a dispute with Paypal.

With the ebay CTAX20 ending on the 26th of June, I hope I'd get a firm confirmation on what the hell is happening with our orders from Roboguy otherwise I'd rather just get it from Shopping Square for less the price that I paid Roboguy.

  • +2

Poor form from Roboguy, Rep doesn't even comment anymore considering how active he was at the start.
I pointed out earlier that the seller has no reputation and it was cheaper elsewhere and rep wouldn't match.

  • +3

Ordered on 05/06 from shopping square, sitting in my car now :)))

    • should have done the same, only myself to blame

  • Got an email asking for a refund and i received this, its not the full email.
"In the very unlikely event that you do not receive your xiaomi mi robot vacuum by the 25th of june, we will issue you a full refund without any questions"

    • Lol we haven't received a tracking number yet and somehow it's meant to arrive tomorrow then?
Tomorrow is the only working day remaining before the 25th

    • Looks like he's being very selective with his replies, I've not had a response in 2 days.

      • Me neither. Another sign of a very poorly run business

    • Which email address did you use asking for the refund?

  • Roboguy probably got screwed as well.

He's probably just the middle man and approached by a self claimed distributor in China.
The "distributor" in China probably disappeared with the money and now he's $10k in debt.

    • +1

well if that's the case then I hope he paid his distributor with Paypal so that he can also join the dispute payment game

    • +2

All he had to do is be upfront and just tell the truth rather than avoiding the questions. I'm sure many others including myself would have been happy to wait another week or something if that was the case.

      • +4

Totally agree. Perfect example of things not to do when running a new business and when things go titsup. Avoiding when there is all signs of trouble will get you nowhere other than the wrath of angry mob of Ozbargainers. Epic fail!

      • +1

        Absolutely. This is the fail.

Why read all these comments and not respond? Be human, Roboguy! It's why we bloody bought from you in the first place!

        • well, I have not received a reply since requesting a refund.
He hasn't been on OzBargain for a week now so he appears to have gone completely under.
I will be lodging Paypal dispute tonight

  • -7

    Hello Everyone,
Many of you have been wondering why we have not posted a comment here for a while. We simply did not want to post another update that you might classify as ‘vague’.
Due to the imprecise and unclear responses, we were receiving from our supplier as to the shipment’s progress, we were forced to spend the past week in Hong Kong. Much to our horror we were shocked to find that our supplier had not been upfront with us, and had not shipped the order on the 29th of May as promised. Xiaomi has had a shortage of Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum Cleaners, which our supplier failed to alert us of. We flew to Hong Kong thinking we had been scammed but our supplier was able to get the stock that we required across to their warehouse while we were there. Whilst in Hong Kong we personally were able to check the order and verified it. The shipment is finally making its way through customs before being put on a ship to Australia. Unfortunately, the ETA now for delivery to you is around the 21st – 26th of July.
We are extremely sorry for the delay this causes for you. We were getting very frustrated with the supplier because of their uncertainty and vague responses to us about the shipment’s progress, but after going to Hong Kong we understood why they had not yet provided us with the tracking or shipping information. We have done our absolute best to make sure that you receive your goods, but at this stage there is nothing more that we can do apart from keeping you as our valued customers informed and making sure that we keep hassling our supplier and freight forwarder to get the shipping process to Australia completed in the fastest way possible. Once in Australia all orders will be sent to you using express couriers, to make sure you receive your orders as fast as possible.
We thank you all very much for your feedback as it has been very helpful and appreciated. We understand and share your frustration in this process, however we could not have done this without you. Your support is appreciated greatly and we ask for your continued patience
    Kindest Regards,
    RoboGuy

Could you please respond to my refund request and process ASAP. I'm definitely not waiting another month.

    • +4

likewise @Roboguy, have sent an email, would you mind responding and processing my refund asap too please.

      • +9

Many of you have been wondering why we have not posted a comment here for a while. We simply did not want to post another update that you might classify as ‘vague’.

Fair enough. But what about our request for a refunds? Or is that too difficult to handle because it might classify as vague as well. Not everyone wants to wait another month or so, so please take care of the refund request promptly rather than ignoring our requests.

    • +4

For sake of all this people who supported your business and bought this stuff, post photos of supplier warehouse or its not happened at all.

    • +3

So I assume you do have tracking information now/this time round and would not mind sharing this with us? How about some pictures of the goods that you "personally were able to check the order and verified it"…..

  • +8

    grabs popcorn

    this is gonna get interesting

    • +3

      Indeed..

Bit of advice to Roboguy - provide some evidence of your trip to Hong Kong i.e. pictures of the stock at the warehouse etc.
Doing so will help calm the fire imo.

Would have also been nice if you had given an update to everyone mentioning that you were actively looking to re-mediate the issues by heading to the source and would be providing an update once there…

      • +7

Here is a link to the photos you have requested: https://www.roboguy.com.au/pages/hong-kong-trip

We had been misled by our supplier, and are extremely sorry for the delay in the delivery of our customer's orders. We were able to secure a small amount of Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum Cleaners which have been already dispatched in Australia.

        • Good work! I'm sure people will feel a lot better now that it's visible :)

Best of luck with the supplier, hope it all works out!

        • that looks like the signature of either a kid or someone held at gunpoint

        • +5

@SBOB: Don't make fun of other peoples signatures man :/

        • +1

It is spelled TRACKING INFORMATION!! Where are the goods RIGHT NOW??

  • +5

44 days since I purchased the item, aparrently after 45 days you can raise a PayPal dispute.

Sorry Roboguy, I waited as requested but im not prepared to wait another month and definately feel a little misled.

    • +1

agree on this, as much of an update from Roboguy and as much as he might have been misled by his supplier, I placed my order with an expectation of the item arriving within 30 days as promised on the original deal. I was willing to wait until end of June for delivery but end of July is just far too long even though the vacs are confirmed to be progressing now.

I have placed an order through Shopping Square (courtesy of @blehgg) using the CTAX20 code and will be waiting on that instead.

    • Escalation to Paypal or just basic dispute where you're talking to roboguy through paypal?

  • Also makes you wonder why nnolan received an email implying it's highly unlikely for the delivery to be delayed beyond 25 june.

    • +5

      Exactly, somebody is lying.

Aside from that, he knew that the item hadn't even been sent from HK and thought that he had been scammed but instead of coming on here he went invisible and came back to say "We simply did not want to post another update that you might classify as ‘vague’."

      WOW…

I really hope that OZB people don't fall for such a noob seller again. I thought you guys were better than that :(
But at least Paypal has your back :)

      • -4

We were able to secure a small amount of Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum Cleaners which have been already dispatched in Australia.

        • +3

Why are you telling me that in a sub reply? Surely that should have been in your main response?

How many did you dispatch? Have you notified these people?

It doesn't really explain your actions unfortunately.

        • +3

          @smashed:
Omg… this is getting worse and worse.

        • You need to clarify to people what their options are and what you intend to do with refund requests because it appears that you have been ignoring these requests, including mine.

Yes, you have been screwed over by your supplier but we deal with you, not your supplier. Even if they stuffed up, you're accountable since you failed to deliver on your promise after taking our money.

Seriously you are going to give people hell over getting refunds as well after what you put through them already?

          Get your act together…

        • @smashed: The people who the Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum Cleaners have been dispatched to have been notified.

  • +2

    Hi Roboguy,

I appreciate your efforts but like others, I too would like a refund.

We have paid a premium and trusted that you will deliver the product as per the initial (vague) ETA provided with good after-sales support. However, was not the case as you have shown by the pathetic post sale support experience we all have here.

Please refund to my account ASAP - PayPal transaction ID 4FU67452828515613. Otherwise you can expect an influx of PayPal disputes tomorrow as somebody else has pointed out here.

EDIT - started a case on PayPal Case ID: PP-005-920-682-098.

  • +12

Tip to Robobuy: don't sell stock you don't own.

Tip to myself: don't buy something from someone when they don't own it.

    • +8

When July 26 comes: "Damn! Sorry guys. Our suppliers tricked us again. Sorry guys it's now mother's day 2018. No refunds."

    • +5

You've got to be kidding me.

What about this clause in your own terms & conditions?

You may cancel the order if a delivery is delayed for more than 30 days and the delay is not due to you.

You don't have a leg to stand on. Just refund people's money if they choose to go down that road.

      • +1

Your assumption is roboguy read his own website's terms and conditions. And didn't simply outsource the work to somebody else :D

      • To be fair, it is a 30 day delay, not 30 days.

However, I don't know if he can then claim such a long long lead time AFTER you guys ordered. It didn't appear clear at the time of ordering.

In any case, you guys are entitled to return them for a refund within 14 days which will mean he loses shipping costs for all of them. It won't help him if he forces you to wait.

        Our Return Policy in Short

•You have 30 days to return an order after receiving it.

•If you change your mind, or the product you received is not what you expected, please contact us before returning the item.

•Unless agreed by us, you are responsible for all costs associated with the return of an item.

•Please note that exceptions may apply for the return of certain custom-made, hygienic and other such products.

If you have any questions, please contact us.

        • How does roboguy lose on shipping if it's never been shipped to us?

        • @joeno:

He is insisting that he won't refund and will instead send your goods.
If he does this then you can return under his T&C. This will mean that he wasted express shipping fees for each item.

        • @smashed:

I seriously wonder what the difference is, he would have needed to have a place to store the incoming orders from the supplier before sending them out, which is why he had the express shipping option as he could then pick out those ones to send out first - which would not have been possible had they been sent directly to each one who ordered from the supplier.

Rather than sending them out and then having us return them as per his supposed T&C, why not just allow us to cancel the order and process the refund ??

          EDIT:

as per T&C as well, returning the product to Roboguy would be at our expense but if I'm not mistaken we can claim the cost back through Paypal

        • +1

          @blahoz:

Yes, you guys would lose a bit of cash too to return though PayPal would cover if you signed up for returns etc.

The seller is in a sticky situation either way IMO.

Patience and understanding wears thin when people are not open and honest (until it is too late).

      • -6

The 26th of June is when the 30 Business Day delivery period ends. The 30 Day delay period would not commence until after the 30 Business Day delivery period has ended and thus the 30 Day delay period would start on the 27th of June. The 30 Day Delay period would not end until the 26th of July.

        • +4

Have it your way. Send it to me at your cost. I will just return it and claim the return shipping cost from PayPal.
I doubt it will get to that stage since PayPal will probably step in.

Why did you tell nnolan that refunds will be issued in the unlikely event that delivery isn't made by 25 June?

You have no consistency at all

        • -2

@djc926: We also have been let down with this outcome, but we are doing everything we can to rectify the issues at hand, we are disappointed that you would consider these actions.

        • +5

          @RoboGuy:

I don't really care about your own issue with the supplier. I shouldn't have to factor that in to my situation as a customer.
You are disappointed? I've had my money taken for almost 7 weeks now with nothing to show for.
For God's sake I haven't even waited this long to take a delivery of a new car in my entire life let alone for a vacuum cleaner.

        • +11

          @djc926:

and you're drowning under a 12inch layer of dust lol

        • @gimme:

Has anyone complemented your humour in the past? lol

    • +6

WTF.. Didn't you offer to provide refunds recently?

A GENUINE seller would have advised of the issue and offered refunds and told the wholesaler to do one if they haven't yet provided the goods.

Apparently they were in short supply yet magically they got them into the warehouse for you whilst you were over there lol.

Luckily you managed to get a couple in your suitcase and thought that it would keep everybody quiet?

Or are these bought from Shopping Square too ?

      • +3

A proper business would provide the refund, and sell it later to someone who wants it.

It seems like Roboguy doesn't have a place to store the goods. Thus he wants to offload it as soon as he gets it.

        • Well he will want to send them out ASAP. It is the correct thing to do and as a small (home?) seller he won't have an office.

    • +3

@Roboguy so are you saying even though I have an email from you on 20th June stating that you would process my refund within 2-3 business days, you will now not be processing said refund at all because of your T&Cs?
      I am confused?

    • +3

This is rubbish. It's not the buyers fault for the delay. Yeah sure, you can't change the circumstances of what happened, but that doesn't having anything to do with you providing customer service and taking responsibility and offering refunds. Poor form. I suggest anyone that wants to cancel to just lodge a dispute with PayPal ASAP.

  • Well he has posted his hong kong trip for you which is a relief for those who bought it: https://www.roboguy.com.au/pages/hong-kong-trip

But I suspect he was asked to come and inspect the goods rather than him arriving and pushing along goods that hadn't arrived.
