Mine was supposedly shipped yesterday morning.

      • Did you pay the $5 priority shipping?

      • The email from Roboguy received today seems to infer the units are yet to arrive in Oz?

        • Can you please upload the email for everyone to see :)

        • @deal-breaker: Have done so. :)

        • Better start lodging your paypal dispute! :)

      • How do you know that? Did you receive an email saying that?

Email from [email protected] received today:

    Hi Everyone,

We just wanted to let everyone know that we have processed all of your orders and have placed an order with our supplier earlier this week. Our supplier has commenced the shipping process. We are busy doing everything in our power to make sure that everything runs smoothly and that we can have all of your orders delivered as soon as possible. As noted on the shipping page in the checkout please allow up to 30 Business Days for arrival, although we hope you will receive your order sooner we have to allow for any potential delays. Also once we receive the goods from our supplier, as mentioned previously everyone who has paid for priority will have their orders dispatched first.

We have been informed by several of our customers that an incorrect State had been selected automatically on the shipping address, so we would just like to ask those who have not already to double check your shipping address for any errors so that there are no holds for us in posting out your orders.

If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.

Thank you once again for shopping with RoboGuy and we look forward to having your orders delivered.

    Kindest Regards,
    RoboGuy

    • don't know why you're getting negged since all you're doing is posting on the email that you got from Roboguy - identical to what I got too btw.

edit: ah ok, I just saw someone else posting the same thing above Roboguys' post

My Aliexpress one arrived today. Looking forward to testing it out.

    • let us know how you go

      • +6

        1st impressions

The plug I got was US style + AUS adapter. No big deal.

Couldn't pair with the software I had down loaded from the QR code in the manual. So I just got the app from Google play which worked.

Changed the voicepack to English, did a firmware upgrade and from there it was straight fwd to use.

Haven't done a full ckean yet so can't vouch for effectiveness but it's looking positive so far

      • +6

Gave it a whirl today. Managed to map out and do the entire house. Quite interesting seeing the floorplan come to light. Full charge lasted 95mins on MAX setting which was just short of my house. After a recharge it completed the job in 10mins. It was down to 18% when it decoded to return to base so something to keep in mind that you really use 85% of capacity. Total area covered 86sqm.
The box was full so it's def sucking up something.
So far I'm happy with it. Hopefully it's reliable in the long run.

        • +1

thanks for that. sounds promising. can't wait until battery advances which means vacuum time of a few hours!

    • +1

My order from AliExpress arrived in 8 working days which is impressive. My wife loved it! Although it will cover all the accessible area when it is finished, it's movement is not always efficient - instead of finishing a local zone, it partially vacuumed it and comes back to it to finish it after doing another zone. Maybe it's a bug in the program when the area is irregularly shaped with sharp corners and such. But it gets the job done and it is able to recognise steps so we dont need to get the virtual wall strip. Overall a great investment as long as it doesnt stop working!

      • +3

yeah I noticed that too. The OCD in me was a little annoyed but I managed to convince myself that why do I even care since I'm not home. Although for those who are at home and want to move back into an area once finished it may be slightly disruptive.
Tip: experiment with the voices. It's mins of fun for the entire family lol. There's some disco looking dude which is the best voice! No clue what he's saying though but it doesn't matter.

I also bent the pins slightly and no need to use an adaptor anymore. It's the moulded type so pretty easy to do without breaking anything. DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK. I'm not responsible if your house burns down.

    • Can you please share the aliexpress link to the seller you used successfully ?

  • -7

    @RoboGuy
Can you please refund my order please?
    Order#1351

Any update on our orders?? Everyone's gone quiet now…including Roboguy.

    • +5

      Hello Everyone,

We have been doing a lot of work behind the scenes to make sure that all of your orders are processed and shipped so that they can be delivered as soon as possible. We have had a slight delay with shipping from China, but our supplier has been working overtime and has assured us that we will receive the goods in time to have them delivered to you within the 30 Business Days.
We are very sorry to announce the delay in shipping, but we want to be transparent and upfront with all of our customers, so we hope that you will respect that.

We appreciate all of your support and patience.

      Kindest Regards,
      RoboGuy

      • +4

Thanks for the update, have they been shipped from the supplier yet?

      • Cool.keep us posted.

  • +9

    What is the current ETA?

    • -1

RoboGuy- can we please get an update on the current ETA as requested two days ago!!!

I will just go with my gut feeling here and assume that with this deal being liked 264 times you got about 200 orders - so you are currently holding around $80.000 of our money!!

New business or not (or maybe especially as a new business) in my opinion you have to do better than this- in regards to updates!!

Please provide an update by the end of today or I will cancel the deal (thank god for paypal) and go with the new 'shopping square' deal on the frontpage.

PS: Maybe you should post a copy of YOUR order + order confirmation to/from your supplier (just patch up prices, contact details etc.) but at least you could eliminate any possible doubt!!

      • +1

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/4736027/redir
He posted above 2 days ago. ETA is still expected to be within the 30 business days.

        • +4

Yep but I have asked for an ETA- so when does HE expect the goods to arrive (in Australia). I assume an order of this volume, there would be some tracking!!! And not just some vague withing 30 business days… Fair enough if we get it delivered within 30 days. BUT he should know by now when he will receive them!!!

      • +3

What would be your (valid) reason for requesting a Paypal chargeback? The T&Cs clearly indicated 30 business days and it's only been approx 15 business days since the deal closed. Why would Paypal provide a refund for something that's in transit? You seem to be having bit of a buyer's remorse and perhaps regretting that you didn't buy directly from China for quicker delivery. People knew from the outset that this was going to take longer and the trade-off was the possibility of local warranty.

Even the China sellers give you a ridiculous ETA anyway (mine said 30-45days) and it arrived within that timeframe. I'm not exactly sure what you're expecting.

  • I also purchased one from Aliexpress and it arrived within 11 working days (was delayed by auspost tho).

It's amazing and cleans quite well, I can't recommended one of these things enough, regardless from where it was purchased.

  • +2

Man can't believe it's almost a month already…should have got it from AliExpress.

    • The seller clearly spelled out the process and timelines and the fact that it may take 30 business days.

      • +1

And? I clearly said I should have gotten from AliExpress.

        • +4

I was referring to you disbelief.

        • +1

@gimme: I would say the same thing if it took my orders from AliExpress 45 days like they say they would. Last couple of times I ordered from a store there took 2 weeks for both orders though so hadn't had to say it yet.

        • +3

          @zorrt:

Not the same… these guys clearly explained what they were doing (i.e not your typical drop-ship transaction) - Ordering in bulk and distributing it locally. They're also new in the game (no secret) and 'fine-tuning' their processes. They were upfront about the fact that it may take longer than usual.

Perhaps I shouldn't be surprised but people get into 'agreements' knowing the terms, yet they are disappointed, surprised and/or upset when the terms don't magically improve in their favor.

This is why I'm not in business or customer service.

        • +1

@gimme: Depends if you read through all the comments or not and how soon after the ad you placed the order. Nothing was disclosed until people asked, in the comments. Not on the original post, not the website. And relax, all I said was I should have ordered from AliExpress. Or are you roboguy?

        • +1

          @zorrt:

lol I'm not Roboguy… as I said I wouldn't do it for all the money in the world.

        • @gimme:

As per what zorrt said, nothing was made clear during the ordering process that it would take this long.
It was only mentioned in this thread some time after the deal went live.
People who ordered early on placed the order without the knowledge that it would take this long.
So if you don't know the full story, please stop spreading false information

        • +3

@djc926: look at this post from OP within an hour of original deal. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/4672909/redir
Should've been clear from that point.

        • +3

          @djc926:

Obviously you found out very early in the piece https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/4674368/redir and could have easily cancelled your order as I did. People hedged their bets time vs local warranty and (perhaps) hoping it would arrive sooner. Now just having buyer's remorse.

        • +2

          @badarz:
haha what a joke. So customers are expected to trawl through ozbargain comments to find out the delivery time? It should be on the website.
I did see that comment after i placed the order and i guess i could have cancelled the order but i didnt. But i think people have reasonable grounds to be upset if they placed the order without the knowledge.

    • I purchased this and the scooter; waiting on more than $1000 worth of items and I paid $10 for priority. So sad right now.

      • +5

        What are you sad about?

  • +3

Annoying as this will be to many people, i was wondering if there's any update on shipment, have our Chinese robots arrived in n Australia yet ?

    • Might be an idea to contact the seller directly as they haven't posted here for a while. may be half way to the cayman islands by now LOL.

      • +1

He's started an army with our robot vacuum so plotting to destroy / or clean the world one country at a time.

      • +1
      • +2

Don't bother. Already tried and got a lame email that's just a copy and paste of the update from 31 May.

        • Same.

    • +1

Give it couple more weeks and if it still hasn't turned up, we can all march to Roboguy with pitchforks and spades.
Given that it's only 2 more weeks to the promises delivery window, you would think that it would have been dispatched from China by now but there was no confirmation from Roboguy

      • +1

i got my notification on 18/5 so guessing that's when the order was placed. So 30 bus days from then would be about 30/6. Though if we don't hear of them arriving in Australia over the next couple of weeks that will be cause for concern.

        • +1

I think 30 business days was accounting for the time between people ordering early and when the order is to be placed with his supplier.

  • +1

Seriously though, where's the updates? Has it been sent out to us yet or is it still enroute from China? Is it coming via boat or something?

  • +4

I dropped the ball on this one. Shouldn't have ordered just because others were. The price wasn't even the lowest.

This was to be my mother's day present for my mother. Well so much for that…

    • Same same for my mum to really dissapointed

  • +4

im extremely disappointed that there was no tracking number provided and its now 22 business days from the order on may 9 but no sign of the item yet and all i got was some generic email

  • +4

Hopefully we'll get an update and tracking number soon!

  • +8

As I post this, Roboguy was logged in around 2 hours ago according to his profile. A bit poor form not responding to anything here considering there's been little update for more than a week already. Short comments to show that he's still monitoring this thread even though he may not have any control over the container shipment would at least be a basis for a good PR considering he's starting a new business.

    • +2

      Very poorly run business.
I replied to his copy & pasted update from 31 May and asked for a proper update and did not receive a response.
It's one thing to take forever to deliver orders but another to have extremely poor communication back to the customers. This isn't a $2 cheapie item from chinese ebay seller we are talking about.
Not sure about others but this may be the last time i buy something that's not in stock for immediate dispatch

  • Am I reading correctly that it will be delivered 30 business days from his last post, or 30 business days from when this deal was posted?

If it's from the last post think it would be faster cancelling the order and buying from Aliexpress lol

    • I took it as within the original 30 business days 'the 30 business days'. Hopefully RoboGuy will comment with clarification!!

      • +2

If my take is right it would have been from when the deal ended as he would have needed to get the final numbers before he finalises the order with the vendor and organise the bulk shipping here.

    • That's what I did.

Mine arrived today. Ordered 8 days ago…

$369 with the 10% cash back from cashrewards.com.au…

      • Paypal dispute? How do you get the order refunded.

        • Emailed them through the contact me link on the roboguy website.

      • Will give a brief review after my first use today.

Did my 100m2 house in about 90 minutes.
Mapping is very efficient and watching live on the app is quite remarkable.
Suction power is good for a robotic vacuum but doesn't compare to our usual dyson v6.
Dust bin is very small though - emptied it half way through the clean and it was already bulging. Not sure what would have happened to its suction power if I left it to its own devices. Don't think there is a sensor for it to return to base for a full bin :(
Smart schedule functions through the app are very nice

Overall for the price I think it's a solid device and I'd get it again. Useful as an in between device but not reliable as a sole device.

        • Thanks for the review. So is there like a pause function that you can choose to stop it mid way whilst you remove the dust bin?

        • +1

          @blahoz:
Yeah just the press power button on it or through the app.

        • Vacuum more often if you need to empty out half way into a 100m2 house.

        • Just discovered turbo mode which improves the suction power.

The default is balanced, but turbo is noticeably more powerful especially on carpet.
On balanced mode it comes back to dock after finishing with ~50% charge, whereas turbo leaves it with only ~20% which is fine but something to monitor over time as the battery degrades.

You can also pretty easily change the battery in a couple of years if its still running:
          https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Replacement-battery-for-Xiao…

  • +5

It seems more and more like it's robaguy.com.au. I do hope they turn up.

  • Can anyone confirm Paypal dispute time is upto 180 days? If not what is it so I can lodge a dispute before it finishes.

  • +5

    Mothers day special….2018.

  • +2

30 working days means we should all receive the vacuums by the 23rd of June according to some date calculator website, he's got two more weeks, I almost forgot about this one lol

  • Hello Everyone,

The shipping process for your order has commenced and we are currently awaiting further information from our supplier as to its progress.

Also, the 30 Business Days commenced after the group deal ended.

For your peace mind and for those who have asked, the PayPal dispute period is still 180 days. We do hope that you will not feel the need to use this process, but that you will contact us if you do have any concerns prior to lodging a dispute with PayPal.

We have tried our absolute best to get your orders organized as soon as possible, but our hands are now tied and we also have to wait as patiently as we can for the shipment process to be completed.

We will update you as soon as we have more information and an ETA for delivery.

We very much appreciate all of your support, feedback, and patience.

    Kindest Regards,
    RoboGuy

    • Thanks for the update

I personally would appreciate it if you can advise on your outcome of discussing the repairs through the 3rd party provider that you mentioned earlier in the thread. Is this something that us buyers would have the confidence in beig able to take this up should our units fail under the warranty period?

At stage I have to say that local repairs by someone who knows the unit, not some random Joe-Bloggs in their garage, is the redeeming factor to your deal as the recent discounts by Chinese sellers have made the item a bit cheaper and they shipped a lot faster, albeit with the caveat that there is no local warranty.

      • +1

Repair? Noone repairs anything in Aust. anymore. More than likely it will be replaced within the warranty period….. if you're lucky.

Also if you read between the lines it's obvious they were 'let down' by their supplier and now at the mercy of the shipping and customs gods. The units will eventually arrive hopefully before the instant gratification pitchforks come out.

    • I'm still a little confused. The shipping process has commenced? Meaning they're being sent to us directly from supplier?

I was under the impression from your earlier posts and emails that they were arriving to you in a bulk order then being sent out.

      • +2

Shipping process between supplier and roboguy.

        • lol some moron negged me for answering the question. The mind boggles. Perhaps they weren't happy with the truth.

        • Thanks for that. I figured as much! It was explained quite confusingly earlier on in this thread.

The time it is taking has killed the excitement somewhat…

      • It is confusing and the fact that Roboguy is being very vague with every single update probably means things haven't gone to plan. I honestly wouldn't hold my breath for on-time delivery.

What does "the shipping process has commenced" mean anyway? If the supplier has sent the goods, why doesn't Roboguy have an ETA of when the shipment will be received?

The biggest mistake was to market this has a Mother's day special.

        • I cleared up the vaguery 2 posts above for you

        • +1

The biggest mistake was to market this has a Mother's day special.

Ordered for Mother's day, received by Father's day!

    • Thanks RoboGuy, Thanks for the Update. Got email today. ThankYou :)

  • +15

30 Business Days commenced after the group deal ended!! That was not mentioned anywhere. It just said 30 business days which I would assume from the date it reached 50 orders. Should have ordered from aliexpress.

    • +2

So by my calc, the 30 business days will expire around the ~23rd? So expecting delivery end of next week?

      • That's what i am counting. Do i believe i will get it by the 23rd? Unlikely

  • +4

Ozbargians aren't easily misled, Roboguy needs to keep everyone in the loop otherwise he might be dealing with an influx of Paypal disputes. Business can be tough.

  • +9

I just bought one of these so I thought I'd add my thoughts.

Firstly, if you are visiting China or Hong Kong any time soon, they are readily available to buy for about AUD$300 there. I paid HKD$1750 in Sham Shui Po (which is the main technology market area in HK). The original packaging is fairly big though, so make sure you have room to bring it home in your luggage. It took up 2/3rds of my main suitcase. Changing the plug is easy, it takes a standard '8' power cord which you can buy just about anywhere.

As for the product, it is super-impressive. It is very good at navigation. It follows a process where it maps out your room first and then goes back and covers the area it has just mapped with a "Z" pattern. If it misses an area, it remembers and goes back to it later. It know when it has been everywhere. If the battery runs low, it goes back to base and recharges, then continues the clean later from where it left off. The battery is pretty good, it should last about 2.5 hours which is enough to clean my whole 4 bedroom house.

Suction is quite good. It is probably not as good as a full-sized vacuum, but better than my dustbuster. It does sometimes leave dust, mainly anything which is stuck to the floor or wedged in the floorboards. It doesn't know to go back over a spot. So you might need to pick up the occasional bit of something but it does leave the floor looking as though its been vacuumed. I have been using it in "balanced" mode but it has a turbo mode which increases the suction at the expense of noise and battery life. It also has a quiet mode, although given that you can run it anytime, I don't know why you'd bother running it while you need quiet.

It is really impressive in hardly requiring any intervention. It can push big toys around (and you can see it sometimes testing whether an obstacle can be shoved). Small lego pieces get sucked up (too bad). In between sized toys sometimes just get run over but left behind. Occasionally they will block the brush and the cleaner will stop and ask you to clear the brush. This can also happen with thin cords, hair, string, pen caps etc. It has two big wheels with independent suspension so it can get up and down ridges. When it gets stuck it is quite good at freeing itself - it pumps the suspension like a hot rod.

I found it gets under the majority of my couches and beds, which is awesome because otherwise I rarely clean under there.

You have to update the firmware when you first buy it to get English but once you do so it is plain sailing. The hardcopy instruction manual is Chinese but there's an English version available online. You don't strictly need the app for basic operation, but it is very cool to see the floor maps, set timers and control the robot while you're out. Also the app has remote controls, which is a bit of fun and useful when there's a specific mess to clean up and you can't be bothered with a dustpan.

So yes, it is a luxury, no it doesn't do anything a regular vacuum couldn't do, but it does automate a decent amount of housework and I find that extremely useful.

    • +1

      lionelhutz
you should have used on plane to try out, plane would be clean :)

    • Cheers for the comprehensive review mate, received mine (not through this deal) about a week ago and hoping to set up this weekend.

  • +3

If its any piece of mind to anyone, I requested a refund and received it promptly. I know still within the timeframe specified etc. but was an impulse purchase at best on my part and didn't really need hassle of it if issues were to arise. Already forgot had even made the purchase until the other day and the vagueness of everything/lack of real updates didn't fill me with too much confidence. Obviously hope for everyone else that by some stroke of luck they receive in next couple of weeks or close to it.

    • +3

Yea these guys are legit; just new at the game and China suppliers aren't always the easiest to deal with. Im sure everyone will get it. Not as quickly as people were wishing for unfortunately.

      • I got an email saying we'll look into the refund…

Will give them the benefit of the doubt of a week for the refund I guess…
