Previously this was a super deal

It is back again. Thanks to Party_Pete

Unfortunately $40 shipping kind of kills it if you don't have one close by.

Seems to be plenty of stock in Vic.

Toner can be found on ebay for around $15-$20

Price beat at Officeworks. Final price $94.05.

Fuji Xerox M225DW Docuprint Mono Laser Printer $99 Cheapest ever! @ Bing Lee Free C&C $40 post

Also, you should remove "Cheapest ever!" from your title.

    Titles should NOT include:-
Advertising phrases or emojis. Like “Great price !”, “Hurry!”

    • No probs.

    • In the past when I tried to price beat at Officeworks (WA store), they insist on adding postage because the brick and motar store is based over in the East. Bing Lee is in NSW yea? So basically the price beat isnt going to work for states without Bing Lee.

      Can you clarify this?

      • +2

perhaps wait for Officeworks to lower their price?

        • Agree. Hopefully there are enough demand to see a price revision soon.

        • This. They will lower the national price to $99 if there are enough price beats.

        • @ronnknee: Officeworks doesn't show any stock on their website

        • @OzSikhs:

Depends on your local store. Mine is showing available.

      • Yea, that's normally the case if the shop is not within the same state as the Officeworks store. I mean, would you be driving interstate to purchase the printer from Bing Lee?

        • "Price beat at Officeworks(officeworks.com.au). Final price $94.05."

So your comment pointing out the final price of $94.05 isnt really accurate since its only possible to secure a price beat in a state where Bing Lee is operating in.

Also confusing were OP's comment on the below:-

"Seems to be plenty of stock in Vic."

          Is Bing Lee in Victoria?

        • @LurvinOZB:

Well you can't get it for $99 either if you can't drive out to a Bing Lee so what's your point?

If you can successfully price beat the Bing Lee's $99 price, then yes, the final price is $94.05.

        • @ronnknee:

          "so what's your point?"

You implied the item can be gotten at Officeworks at a price lower than OP —> "Price beat at Officeworks(officeworks.com.au). Final price $94.05."

Yet you acknowledged —> "Yea, that's normally the case if the shop is not within the same state as the Officeworks store"

My point … "you should" include disclaimers such as "Price beat for 5% discount at Officeworks if you are based in states where Bing Lee are located in order to get $94.05." Not everyone knows price beat 5% do require postage to be included if the item is located interstate.

No intention of dissing you, just want to make sure shared information are correct for fellow OZBargainers.

        • @LurvinOZB:

You implied the item can be gotten at Officeworks at a price lower than OP

That's because you can get it for cheaper at Officeworks by price beating whether you factor in the postage or not. It's either $94.05 if you can get it from Bing Lee for $99 or $132.05 if you can get it for $139 from Bing Lee. If the $99 price is not applicable to you, then neither is the $94.05 price beat. It's that simple.

However, as others have pointed out, depending on the team member, they may not factor the postage into the price beat so YMMV. Alternatively, they may even bring down the national price to $99 if they receive enough price beats.

My point … "you should" include disclaimers such as "Price beat for 5% discount at Officeworks if you are based in states where Bing Lee are located in order to get $94.05." Not everyone knows price beat 5% do require postage to be included if the item is located interstate.

Why? It's not like my comment is a deal itself, nor am I a representative of Officeworks. I do not feel it is necessary for me to spell out all the conditions (which can be found here).

        • @ronnknee:

No I agree you can indeed price beat at Officeworks, but does the "Final price $94.05." apply to every Officeworks?

No you dont need to "spell out all the conditions" … hang on … are there conditions? Ahh … thanks for the link! Took three tries but we still got there =)

      • I've had Officeworks in Qld price match Bing Lee no problems before. No questions asked or talk of postage.

        • +1

They're supposed to apply postage if no local store so you must have got lucky.

      • +1

        Hey LurviOZB.

I work at Officeworks. Generally we don't add shipping if the store is located in the state - without a Bing Lee in WA staff kind of have their hands tied about adding shipping for Bing Lee price matches.

As monkp said below OW will probably end up matching the $99 price so just keep an eye out on the website.

        • Thanks, this is helpful to know.

    • it shows 159.00 for me for the office work?

  • strange stock situation for Syd.

many stores with no stock but pickup is worth it even with a 25km plus drive since its $40

2,600 page sub $30 carts which is good

no fax, but no cares there

    • I have Fuji Xerox P205B, I get cartridges on ebay for about $6. Rated for 2,200 pages. Cheapest to run and own. Paid $29 for it from Officeworks few years back. Two things that are lacking and annoys me enough to upgrade to M225DW is, no network connectivity and no scanner. Do you know if the ADF on the scanner is any good?

      • I can confirm that it works fine. Never skipped a page.

        • Wonderful

  • +1

Just FYI - unlike most multifunction printers, this doesn't have fax capability. Not that it's a bad thing (I've never hooked my printers up to phone lines), but good to keep it in mind.

    • +8

Do people still fax. I thought it was 2017 not 1997

      • +2

You'd be surprised. Someone I know keeps their fax machine hooked up to the line just because they like the junk faxes they get.

        • +7

          this isnt normal

who the hell likes paying for paper AND toner for someones' ads?

i dont even like paying for paper and toner for my own crap!

        • +1

Tell him 1997 called. 14,400 baud rate FAX modem. No paper required and is plug and play with Windows 95.

      • The receptionist still faxes at work because the people on the receiving end are not good at scanning / emailing…I think that's the reason, anyway :S.

  • great price

  • +4

Plenty of stock in vic? Only store is Wodonga.

    • plenty of stock at Wodonga then

  • great price.

  • Does this support duplex copy and scanning? No detail about it in the description.

    • Duplex printing but not scanning.

I remember from when I purchased one from the previous deal that the box was fricken HUGE. Probably explains the $40 delivery…

Edit For clarity - no duplex scanning. It definitely scans one side of the page at a time.

    • it can do scanning.

      • You mean duplex scanning?

        • oh sorry, i misinterpreted the question.

  • Great printer, bought the same about 14 months ago and love it.
No auto duplex scanning, you have to re feed the other side into the tray (or at least it what I've been doing).
But no problem with duplex printing though, just select 2 sided print in the option.

    • Can you scan stuff and have it appear on your mobile via wifi?

      • Yes you can

      • yes you can, just download the print ultility app from app store.

        • Tempting then. 😀.

Still my old HP 3050 still works wonders

    • The WiFi keeps dc'ing on my in laws. I've probably not set it up correctly for them though :P

  • Any in stock near Melbourne? Website doesn't seem to indicate this…

  • As a bit of an aside, does anyone know what the cheapest printer currently on the market is that you can actually replenish with (liquid) ink, rather than a new cartridge (just black, not interested in colour)?

I checked a couple of years ago, and it was about $400. Has anything cheaper hit the market since then?

    • Unlike Canon/HP, these Fuji Xerox laser printers come with separate ink toner and drum cartridge. There is no "hi-tech" stuff with these ink toners (just ink), so you can buy third-party (very cheap). Only the drum needs to be genuine; one can last 10,000 pages (the printer itself may die before that).

  • Thank you Lee Mack. Going on WILTY, QI and 8o10c binge now.

  • Any deal for M225z? It does duplex copy and scanning…

    • Any deal for M225z? It does duplex copy and scanning…

It doesn't do duplex scanning (I own one). See this comment.

  • Can anyone suggest a good value colour laser printer I could keep an eye out for?

    • +1

You either pay more for the printer upfront and have cheaper consumables (so price per page eventually ends up cheaper) or you pay bugger all for a printer and get shafted on consumables.

The best price per page I've seen recently was the Fuji CP405d - not cheap by any means, but the consumables are super high yield.

If you just want super cheap - anything Samsung is bottom of the pile, but consumables are terrible price per page.

      • Thanks! Makes sense. We don't print much (maybe 10 pages a month), but when we do we need it to work, and my inkjet is annoying how it often loses ink anyway (I'm told it's nozzle cleaning or something)… I like the idea of a more reliable printer :)

        • +2

yep the samsungs are reliable but as noted the consumables are ludicrously expensive . The printer we had worked out cheaper to buy a new printer even with the low yeild toner cartridges .
I now have a $12 Canon inkjet and a Fuji B/W for everything else . The Fuji compatible ebay B/W cartridges work perfectly and are very cheap . The Samsung ebay toners I tried have slightly off colours and were still expensive .

        • @troyww: Sounds like a good setup, suspect I'm not too late but I'll see if I can find one of these printers now :)

  • consumables priced well? some of the cheap brother ones cost more to buy the refill than the machine.

    • As I said above, consumables should be very cheap because you don't need to replace the drum unit.

  • +1

Anyone have any luck price matching this to officeworks in WA?

  • i totally rate this printer, great for the price, even at $150 it would've been a bargain. very decent print quality, and scanning is of high quality. Very easy to connect wirelessly and the app you can download works seamlessly (print/scan direct to/from phone). It's more than a basic printer for the price of a basic printer.

    • Can you advise how soon for the first page print to come out? Is scanning capable of colour? Where to get the best value toner? Ta

      • Is scanning capable of colour?

        of course lol

Where to get the best value toner?

        eBay.

  • It's a great printer, network capable, scanning, duplex and decent paper tray.

  • Tried at one of the OW store in Melb, they have printers , but didnt match BingLee pricing, according to OW, BL dont give manufacturer warranty..

    • +1

      they are full of s*#t

    • They should have price matched. The Bing Lee website, under "Specifications" clearly shows Manufacturer Warranty - 1 year. Very odd.

    • Which store?

  • +1

Are there any deals for colour laser printers?

    • +1

Yeah, how much is the same thing but colour printing? I had no idea that people chose to use mono printers, I thought it was for students only pretty much. Was very surprised to see people in this post recommending it. Maybe I need to rethink my colour printing…

      • +2

Definitely rethink it. The costs of colour printing vs mono are quite different. And depending on the printer, you'll find some won't let you print mono when the colour cartridges are low.

      • I was fine with mono laser printing; I'm using a brother DCP-7065DN, no complaints. The thought of a colour printer only compounded after I started to prepare some pre-schooler projects for my kid; considering the many years ahead for a schooling child.

  • Thanks OP going to pickup one now in Canberra

  • +1

Put a phone order in with officeworks.

Was being super friendly with the lady on the other line.

Didnt even discuss any shipping cost, perhaps its a good day for me.

$94.05 no probs, picking it up in my local store in WA.

    LOL.

    Thank you!

    • Great - I'm keen to get one too. Did you call the 1300 number or your local store? May I know which store?

      thanks!

      • The 1300 numbers.

        Cheers

    • I was told by Officeworks over the phone that this item is out of stock online and only available in selected stores. Hence, Phone order can't be placed and I need to go in to the store.

    • Can you pls upload receipt?

  • Doesn't have scan to email, sucks.

    • But you can scan to your mobile according to other comments in this thread. That means you can do wireless printing and scanning, pretty amazing for $99!

  • +1

Went to buy ink for my ink jet and this printer was only $10 more. if the 1200 pages per toner is true and i average 140 pages per unit per semester, then this should last me for just over 2 semesters (1 year). my Canon ink jet lasts me half a semester before buying new black ink. Thank you ozbargain :)

  • Set it up, everything works excellent however im getting paper curl and the pages aren't coming out straight, is this normal or is there a way to fix this?

    • That's Fuji Xerox trademark :-)

      • Can anyone elaborate on this? Not sure I want to buy a printer where the pages aren't coming out straight

        • The print is properly aligned; the paper curls because it isn't heated evenly, especially for one-side print. Just wait until the paper cools down.

This is quite common in entry-level laser printers.

        • @werty98:

Yeah i did a bit of research on this, apparently its normal with some laser printers. Checked my folder this morning and pages are almost back to normal.

        • Try checking the paper in the paper tray is snug and straight. Also try fresh paper that's properly stored (ie not old or have absorbed moisture.) My prints are good but the manual feed pages do come out a bit skewed.

  • Is there any good way to use it as a network scanner from a Mac? Or are the scan functions only fully functional for Windows?

  • I was wondering if anyone has a screenshot of the Bing Lee webpage with the $99 price? It's now marked as discontinued and seems to be out of stock in Sydney. I was hoping to price match one at Officeworks as they still have some in stock. Cheers

  • On Bing Lee's Website It says DISCONTINUED, no way to look for store or buy online for me. Am I missing something here..

    • Website seems to be back to $99 now but says limited stock.

However, according to online chat they said they are sold out state wide (NSW)

  • +1

Showing up as discontinued. I'm at officeworks right now and finally found one in stock after an hour looking for one (it was at the bottom of a pile of 225 fws) they wouldn't honor it. Also called the local Bing lee store which was showing stock last night and they told me it sold out this morning. So not paying 159, looks like no docuprint printer for me.

Also my mother owns one but and she reports ink issues with after market ink a line running through the page vertically. Any idea why this is, is it a common issue?

    • Sounds like a scratched drum.

  • Great printer, wifi, air print, duplex, scan to pc, photocopy, cheap generic toners. Had mine about 6 months very happy with it.

  • Say discontinued when i clicked on the link, didnot show price as well. Is this available in store?
