Get an xbox one s way better value.

    • +2

exactly.. one can get an XB1S for 50 - 70 more with the drive and constant update to the player… and games would be bundled for such deal too…

      • Xbox one and EA access is the best gaming deal for those who play once or twice a week. Even if someone bought the xbox and then decided its not there thing they can simply put it on gumtree and get around %%80-90 of there money back. I'm not sure why those bluray player is still at the market at this price :\ But yeah i can only see they are marketed towards older people who cant bother with watching online or just want very simple player.

        • Not to mention Xbox Gamepass which is coming soon $10 a month for 100+ games to play.

      xb1s ftw

Value yes but suitable not necessarily. This player is quieter and better picture quality. So there is plenty of reason to pass over an Xbox if no interest in playing/spending more on games.

xbox one is pretty quiet for me. I don't know about the die shrink S, but likely more quiet… and given sonys gigantic audio players has fan as well, it doesn't matter much in the noise level when you crank the crap up to hear the explosions…

better picture quality??? I love to read the review in comparing these players to the Xbox1s, given PS3 WAS the best 1080P bluray player ever say something about the advantage of a constantly updating player module with a much more powerful graphics card and CPU. it is cake walk for xbox hardware out put bluray upto 4K, all they need is fine tuning the software down the track.

The box is lacking is multi audio stream and other pro home audio setup (can xbox 1 s do bluetooth audio?), but if one had such audio setup, they already spent thousands, the extra investment ain no Biggy, us consumers would best pick the best value for money… hence: Xbox 1S wins!

        • Mate you are more than welcome to google up reviews or forums from users. I read it on forums from users so figure its worth being aware of. Value and suitability are not always the same. As a ps3 advocate you should be more than familiar with the noise issues many ps3s had (i bought 3 over the years). As for xbox one s updates for sure… assuming they improve it, or it matters to someone now vs later. Its not something to be defensive about or even critical of it being best value player, it clearly is. But that does not make it the most suitable for everyone.

        • @Xizor:

Agree, but I made it clear, that only those with the audio setup should consider apply on this speciality player. I have tested many bd 4K upscale players and I was unable to find much difference between those and the Xbox . Since I don't have 4K content nor the set Samsung player, i m only saying based on experience.

Samsung also has bad track record in upgrading player software, my Samsung to and bsplayer did not get update pass one year mark after purchase. Hence big warning sign pops up when using it. Therefore from prospective of player updating, Xbox will win hands down, given the software in Xbox has updated over a dozen times already since I got the box.
Bottom line : Don't bank on Samsung supporting these in software.

    • It can output audio in a seperate HDMI output… it's in a league above.

  • Any big TV deals?

  • For a moment i thought its Samsung UHD-K8500 4K HDR TV…..

Poorly designed and technically flawed player for 4k contents lag and judder all the time.. Pay more and enjoy the difference with other brands. You can do better with 4K content.

    • Not true. Never have problem with my unit. Got it from last JBHifi sale. Watched Planet Earth 2. So amazing. Worthed every penny.

Rubbish player… had it before.. played it side by side with the panasonic player - the pana player is heaps better.. picture quality cannot be compared..

wouldn't buy it .. 150 bucks is what this should be priced at…
