why sideloading is = hacking? you dont have to root your phone.
if not then just use it as standalone camera and load/check/see from PCIn order to use the 360 you have to use a hack to modify the samsung companion app. So it is a hack and needs to be sideloaded.
oh ok. i jailbreak, root, hack and custom rom my new phone since day 1 so its normal for me :D
EDIT: Actually it's not a diy mod but you need to sideload a modified gear 360 app - but same diff.

I have heard about serious heat issue with these. But at this price I am willing to take a chance and have bought it.
yep it is so bad you have to stop recording for a bit to let it cool down, then carry on.
Wondering why gopro hasnt come up with a similar product.
Mine's going to be bolted on the bottom of my DJI Mavic Pro… Should be fine with 4 fans blowing on it :P

It's called the 'GoPro Fusion' and won't be out until later in the year.
They do have a 360 degree camera coming out soon. Called Fusion. There is a video from this year Isle of Mann TT done with it. Google Horst Saiger TT 2017 360 degree.
There are third party things to literally bind a bunch of go pros together too. You would have to combine the outputs of those together but the resolution would be fantastic.
I haven't encountered any heat issues but only recorded for around 15-20min
