      Expectation is that Google Home will be launched here June/July.

      However, you can already manage to get assistant working here, and like google now, much of the functionality works here already.

      It's a reasonable guess to assume that Amazon will push to launch here soon as well, both to answer google, and because they are talking of launching for electronics sales in Sept. So it's worth noting that Google Home will cost ~$200, but the Dot will probably come in at ~$80

    i've got one last xmas from B&H video photos. I use it with LIFX, spotify, chromecast, and wheather all ok. But if you want to set multiple user your out of luck. It's a hit and miss. Even though i managed set mine up. But the option is no longer there after that.

      pretty good actually, like a decent BT speaker. Sounds crap turned up 100% but keep it around the 80% mark and it's loud enough to fill a living room with sound/music/news.

      My Google Home give local weather already.
      I think as long as you link the account with location preferences enabled, Google Home should be able to give localized weather data…

    Bought one a few months ago and works fine in Australia. You set your home (and work) address and everything else (such as weather) defaults to Australia. The only thing I have noticed is when I ask it to play ABC radio, it will play ABC US (I need to ask it to play ABC Australia). Other than that, all Australian. (Wait, except there are no news sources that are specifically Australian, I assume these will come on line when it launches here).
