      Pop is one of the $15 "Starter Packs". So, AFAIK, you pay nothing.

  • The Foxtel Play app is streaming at 240/360p for me. Sure my internet connection is just above 4Mbps, but I always get 720/1080p with Netflix…
    Then again the same thing happens with the ABC and SBS apps (eyes bleed). Must be very poorly optimized?

      Yes, you can. I have done this and it still works.

      You'll get a little message when you Cancel saying you can use it until mid July.

  • So I've just tried to get this working via Chromecast and my MiBox. Just simply won't work. Need to try the standalone Chromecast device and see if that works.

      Either you didn't apply the code correctly, or selected the packs thinking you got access to everything. I used this code a few months ago and added in the doco's pack because I wasn't sure if the 2 week trial worked with the code as well or not. Only kept it for a few days but was charged for those 2 days when I finally got the first bill a month in.

      I don't doubt that they told you that..but I still think perhaps that person was incorrect.

      If you actually look at what the "pop" package and the "drama" package are, you'll notice a few differences with the exception of "Showcase," which is found in both of them.

      GOT is part of the Showcase option, and hence, should be part of the POP package.

      Otherwise they're just misleading us.

    I just tried the code in incognito mode, and it didn't work for me.

    Foxtel play app is crap.
    The dodgy app caused my PS3 to lockup twice in 5 minutes requiring a hard power reset.
    Lots of buffering and waiting for things to load as you cannot change quality.
    Cannot save favorites or watch later list.
    Must sift through all of the locked premium content in various sub-menus to find what you want to watch every time.
    Annoying live video starts playing automatically when you load the app which slows everything to a crawl; have 'fun' trying to navigate the menus with the video playing in the background.

    The content offering is nothing to write home about either.
    Netflix blows it out of the water in this regard. Foxtel still have a long way to go if they want to convert me.
    I'm cancelling my subscription.

      • It's quite expensive for what little you actually get, when you combine the cost of multiple bundles to get a decent package of content/channels to watch. Foxtel is/was extremely overrated. I remember having a foxtel set top box about 10-15 years ago and being disgusted with the amount of commercials/ad breaks for a service that would have cost > $100 per month at the time.

        They are such an arrogant company that they have the hide to bill you one month in advance(whilst you are still in a trial). Stan and Netflix offer far more transparency in terms of the billing cycle and cancellation procedure. Better be careful and cancel as soon as possible or you might forgot and get hit with that $15 charge on your next bill(if you manage to sign up).

    Foxtel (Foxtel Now) still trying to barricade contents by separating Pop and Drama. It a ridiculous pricing model. When 3 months is up and GOT finishes its hard to find an excuse to stay.

    Cannot believe Foxtel would spend so much cash relaunching their streaming brand and still output such average quality picture when everyone else has it right.

    There seem to be conflicting info and comments about GOT being part of the pop pack or not. Would we also have to sign up for the Drama pack as well to watch S7 when it comes out or is Showcase included as part of the Pop pack?

    • According to the information available the POP pack includes a lot of 'popular' TV shows that are listed in the pack information. Game of Thrones appears to be one of them.
      This information suggests if you get Pop OR Drama packs it is included, and because a some of the content overlaps, if you add both it is $5 cheaper.
