  • The height is 6.6 cm it says! How much would the tool set be worth on its own?

Don't forget with SCA, always check if the item is on eBay as you can combine discounts! The $20 off $100 atm means you can get the 133 piece for $230

The 68 piece doesn't look to be on eBay with the chest.

    • Get it for $211 now with the 15% off code (see front page)

  • I purchased one of these a few years back and sold the tools for $70. Bloody good deal in the end.
The tool chest is a bit flimsy, but it does the job. Definitely value for the money.
If you're getting one, I'd also recommend you grab a couple of meters of that anti slip matting to lay in the drawers.

  • I'm after something quality. Other than snapon, what brands should i be looking at?

Sidchrome used to be the best with a very good replacement lifetime warranty. I think a lot of people go for Kincrome these day. Used to be second rate years ago but I think they lifted their game and now regarded as good quality.

    • Sidchrome don't really seem to do large roll cabs. A shame as I've heard they were good.

I heard kincrome weren't too good

The Repco branded tools are also alright if you have a store nearby.

    • I like Bahco. Particularly this kit

Pretty much everything you need in metric with the only the inbetween imperial sockets. Plus it's all six-point in both 1/2 and 1/4 inch drive. 6 point sockets give better grip and are likely to strip/round your bolts.

I don't think Sidchrome is up to it anymore given that all I see from them is 12 point sockets.

      • Sorry guys Im talking storage, not tools

    • I actually like the Tool Pro boxes. Much thicker metal and they just feel better quality. Go look in the store at these things from Stanley. Thin cheap feeling. It's a real shame what Stanley have done to their brand image. They used to be synonymous with quality trade spec tools. I still have Stanley tools handed down from my Dad that are still going strong 30 years later. But this tool chest is just crapola.

  • Kincrome

  • Just get yourself a half decent top box.
Anything is better than this crap.
