Tracked by CR, sim has been active for 15 days, but no approval of cashback yet…..

    • +4

Yep same for me. Today is 15 days for me.

I think we have to wait all day today then contact Cash rewards tomorrow if we don't get the cashback.

  • +5

Shouldn't have bothered with this deal. The other one was much easier, approved quickly and hassle free..

  • Just had my sim cancelled too! What a joke of a company Yomojo is pulling off dodgy bullsh!t like this. They told me via email that my sim would auto activated on 12-July, and now I just tried to login to check why it is not active. Could not login, so contacted them and was told sim expired due to promotion ending. WTF? Will not use or recommend Yomojo in future.

TA, I really appreciate your massive contribution to Ozbargain, but what's the deal here man! Please advise Yomojo they have pissed off a lot of OzBargainers with this crap….

  • Finally received my replacement sim after the first one went missing in transit apparently. Activated via chat and now working with no issues. Happy to wait another 15 days to see if cashback comes through.

  • Lodged a complaint regarding 2 SIMs for family cancelled. My Father's SIM has been activated. Cashback yet to be confirmed.

I complained again yesterday & today that my SIM has not been reinstated and activated. Original complaint covered both of us.

    Received this response from Yomojo…

    Hi xxx,
Please have him contact us so we can assist him, but I'm afraid his sim card can't be activated we can only process a refund as the the promotion for the cashback is already expired.

No where in the CashRewards Yomojo Promotion is it stated SIM will be cancelled at any time. My SIM was cancelled 2 days after receiving it.

Back to where I started - SIM cancelled😠

Hi everyone. Just a quick reminder, that if you have any queries regarding the promo, please get in touch directly with the Yomojo customer service team by emailing [email protected] or calling us on 1300 YOMOJO (1300 966 656). Our team is always happy to help, and provided you have followed the T&Cs of the promo, queries are resolved quickly. Many thanks.

      Why were many SIMs cancelled.

There is no information regarding cancellation of SIMs in the t&c of this promotion. You can't just cancel SIMs without notifying customers! That's not what we agreed to in this promotion!

In my case, I complained about Yomojo failing to send 2 SIMs to my family (ordered 23/6/17). The SIMs were finally sent on 30/6/17, arrived late on 4/7/17, and could not be activated when attempted on 6/7/17. That 2 days to activate is not what was stated in the promotion t&c "Upon receipt of the SIM, you have up to 7 days to activate it"!

Yomojo delayed delivery of SIMs, then cancelled those SIMs claiming the promotion had ended. That is despite promotion t&c "Offer ends June 30, but activation beyond this date is still ok as above"!

My Father's SIM was activated yesterday, after much complaining. But with no assurance he will receive Cashback.

Despite lodging a complaint together, I have been told again my SIM will remain cancelled, so unfairly lose Cashback - because Yomojo stopped me activating within 7 days of receiving SIM.

On 29/6/17, I was given an undertaking by Yomojo that I qualified for this promotion (discounted service & CashRewards Cashback) -
      "Don't worry
      I have good news.
Since you just signed up on the account, it means that you are eligible for this promo. Take note, the deal is only good for tomorrow but you just signed up last 23rd of June. Automatically that give you eligibility for that deal."
"All you will need to do is to wait for the sim that I will be sending to you.
I organised a SIM hat will be delivered within 3-5 business days. Once you have the SIM, you can activate it online or contact us back.
Rest assured, everything will be fine now :)"
      .
Yomojo has failed to live up to that undertaking.

As such Yomojo is in breach of the contract we entered into.
      Reinstate all cancelled SIMs.
      Arrange CashRewards Cashback.
My family met all t&c until Yomojo stopped us activating.

      Hi Yomojo,

Sim was cancelled 7 calendar days = 5 business days after being sent to Rural NT, it takes 2-6 business days for letters to travel that far. In this particular case, the sim was effectively cancelled within 24 hours of receiving. Terms clearly indicated 7 calendar days allowed from receiving to activating. I have on record your refusal to activate is intentional, as cancellation is intentional.

Escalated on Sunday, promised reply within 2 business days, it has now been 4 business days and still nothing.

I would urge you to consider your next move and obligations carefully. Bait and switch, deceptive advertising can be punished by very hefty fines by the ACCC. Noting also that your customer service staff have referred to the ACCC deceptively here, in particular, deceptively used the ACCC authority to imply consumers have acted improperly. They may very well make an example out of companies with such poor understanding of the regulations. (Hint, have a look at ACMA. A telecommunications re-seller is expected to know and obey relevant laws, at the very least know who the regulators are and what they do!!)

If not resolved, these issues may eventually be escalated to the TIO. If you believe that by cancelling, and not responding to complaints, you can avoid the $35 obligation, I would urge you to reconsider. For that the cost of resolving a TIO Level 1 complaint exceeds $100. Further escalations cost significantly more ($1,200+ for Level 2, there are 4 levels I believe). Ultimately, you are likely to be liable for the obligation anyway, regardless of whether you introduce "technical issues" or "system limitations", and will incur disproportionately high costs in not resolving these issues sooner.

Just a bit of earnest advice, I don't like writing complaints. Just like I'm sure you don't want to pay for regulatory or ombudsman penalties / costs either.

provided you have followed the T&Cs of the promo

So are you insinuating saying that we haven't been following the T&Cs of the promo?

  • Wow. So many comments.
I ordered early on, but they never sent me the sim.
Chased once, then they said they would send it again - but still didn't receive it (sent to wrong address??).
Chased 2nd time and finally received it.
Have activated and fingers crossed to get cashback.

  • im on my 2nd chase of my sim card too after the 'we didn't send out the sim yet bcos we need to ask you these questions but didn't bother reaching out to you' + we've sent your sim (which never arrived)

    Hopefully get it soon!

  • +1

So today is 16 days for me since I activated my sim and as expected no cashback. What a surprise Yomojo! Take our money and don't give our cashback!!

I will contact Cash Rewards now.

    • On the same boat. Day 16….

    • +1

Day 13 here, lowering my expectation now.

    • Day 14 here, lowering my expectation now.

    • Let us know how you go with CR.

      • Will do. I emailed them around midday yesterday and still no reply. The email does say up to 5 days for a reply.

  • +1

Day 13 here too.. not impressed.. very slow.

  • Ordered since 23/6, never received and when I emailed this morning asking for refund:
    … …
To add, the promo was already expired and we are unable to activate the service anymore nor process the refund.

    ?!?

    • +1

You're not the first to receive the no refund policy - see our standard t&c you agreed to.

1 dodgie business, so many different stories & excuses. After complaining I was told we can only process a refund as the the promotion for the cashback is already expired.

My Father's SIM was cancelled, then activated after my complaints, but who knows if they will give Cashback? We ordered minutes apart on 23/6, lodged a complaint covering both our grievances, but got different outcomes from same customer service person.

    • Yeah. That must be Vince..

      Keep pushing.

  • +2

    Rubbish company.
They cancelled my order without any notice, without refunding. They just wait for me to contact them to get money back. Reason to cancel is : Looking at the order the system detected that there's a potential duplicate of orders that why it was not sent and the promo for that is already expired that's why the order was withdrawn.

  • +3

Yomojo is sending out this email:
We are sorry to inform you that upon carrying out a review of your order, linked to our June promotion on CashRewards, we have found it did not comply with the Terms & Conditions of the promotion. As a result, we have cancelled your order and your SIM.

We have already processed a full refund of $14.90, plus any card surcharge to your card, however please note that it may take several days for your bank to credit your account.

If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact Yomojo customer services by email [email protected]
    Regards,
    Your Yomojo Team

I have requested clarification of what the review found that showed I did not comply with the Terms & Conditions of the promotion.

I met all t&c of this promo.
Apart from Yomojo not allowing activation when I did have access to my account, changing the auto-activation date later than I set, & cancelling my SIM within 2 days after receiving it - resulting in stopping me activating as I intended.

I was told by Yomojo on 29/6:
    "Don't worry
    I have good news.
Since you just signed up on the account, it means that you are eligible for this promo. Take note, the deal is only good for tomorrow but you just signed up last 23rd of June. Automatically that give you eligibility for that deal."
"All you will need to do is to wait for the sim that I will be sending to you.
I organised a SIM hat will be delivered within 3-5 business days. Once you have the SIM, you can activate it online or contact us back.
Rest assured, everything will be fine now :)"

Yomojo breached it's contract with us & own t&c - cancelling SIMs without us agreeing to that or notifying us before it happened!

Gee, thanks Yomojo for wasting so much of my time for nothing. (Most of my 88 comments in this deal were about problems with Yomojo)

Social media time - tell them what You think of Yomojo!

Challenge Yomojo to prove their claim we did not comply with the Terms & Conditions of the promotion.

  • +4

So I just got the following email from Yomojo:

We are sorry to inform you that upon carrying out a review of your order, linked to our June promotion on CashRewards, we have found it did not comply with the Terms & Conditions of the promotion. As a result, we have cancelled your order and your SIM.

We have already processed a full refund of $14.90, plus any card surcharge to your card, however please note that it may take several days for your bank to credit your account.

All I can say is this is complete BS. Yomojo is trying to blame me (and potentially many others) for not following their T&Cs when they are blatantly lying in all forms of communication! One rep literally tried to convince me "upon receipt (by the customer)" actually means "when they send out the SIM card", and now I get this email telling me it's my fault?!

Official Yomojo, if you say I didn't follow the T&Cs, prove it! Falsely accusing your customers will get you no where in business!

    • +1

Just chiming in to say my SIM and cashback have also been cancelled for the same reason. Absolute crap, I did nothing wrong, and there was no prior communication from Yomojo that something may even be wrong.

      • Exactly. Many members (myself included) even received the "Your SIM will be activated on xx-July" email, only to be left disappointed when the plans didn't activate as promised.

  • +1

CR tracked since 23 Jun 2017 but nothing has been approved yet. Did i just get scam?

  • i actually forgot about this deal until they sent that not approved email today.
The first email was something along the lines of dont worry about doing anything the sim will be activated on its own so i just left it there…

Meh dosnt bother me, it was just free money and I get a refund anyway.

    • +1

You cashback should now be available.

  • +1

Haven't received that email, hoping the cashback comes through tomorrow. Soon as it comes through I am changing the card details..

  • Sim was supposed to be activated automatically, but received email on cancellation and refund. Vote revoked due to bad vendor.

    • You will receive email & cashback today.

      • Thanks. I'm clarifying vote was revoked due to Yomojo. Cash rewards did the correct thing here.

  • +1

So what's happened to the no later than 15 days for cashback? I'm now at day 15 and still haven't got it yet.

    • +1

Send an enquiry through Cashrewards. Last time they had to bulk-approve a lot of payments but there hasn't been much recent communication from them in this thread.

      • Ticket has been sent to CB. Just waiting….. good luck

    • I'm with ya mate. Hopefully TA can update us.

  • Asked Yomojo in email (after receiving above refund email):
You state "it did not comply with the Terms & Conditions of the promotion".
Please explain how my order did not comply with the Terms & Conditions of the promotion?

    Their BS response:
It's on the terms that you need to activate the SIM seven days after receipt. It shows that it was sent by logistics last 30-Jun-2017 and you should have it within 3-5 days.
We're sorry but we can no longer reinstate the order.

Have sent my reply that those were not the published t&c. Also that Yomojo did not publish the condition that SIM would be cancelled after 7 days of receipt of order.

    • Discussions are continuing.
It all centres on that 1 t&c Yomojo say we failed to meet - activation within 7 days of receipt. Yomojo say the clock started at dispatch, deal shows after SIM received.
Even with Yomojo's estimate of 3-5 days (including weekends) for delivery, that leaves little time to activate.

TA, (I know you read these comments unlike other Reps)
Can you provide copy or link to published t&c for Yomojo promotion? No longer available on site.

Yomojo keep reading different t&c to what I read here. Would help clarify matters.

      • +1

Hi Infidel. The T&Cs were at the very bottom of Yomojo's original landing page during the promotion, but no longer visible. The two paragraphs below the dot points in the OP are a direct copy/paste of those T&Cs, apart from the processing fees which were subsequently added by a moderator. The bold fonts were added by me to highlight certain aspects.

        • Thanks. Read CR t&c - thought they were remarkably familiar.

Will now ask Yomojo to show me theirs ;-)
          Promo t&c that is.

  • +1

    Amaysim >>>> Yojokejo.

  • -2

Has anyone had their cashbacks actually approved yet?? Almost 400 upvotes for such a difficult bargain to get/potential scam? Something doesnt seem right.

    • +1

Yeah I got mine a while back, about 12 ish days after signing up. Had to contact CR though. All I did was open a ticket, sent my invoice and referenced TA and one of the ladies from CR paid it and said she'd go and contact yomojo to get paid.

      • +1

At least CR has integrity, unlike Yomojo.
Will follow your lead if there is a problem.

        • +1

Yeah never got mine (it was tracked) but don't care. Happy to put this Yomojo experience in the rear vision mirror, despite doing nothing wrong and being 100% eligible. I hope this company dies a slow death from this negative PR stunt, I'll ensure nobody I know ever goes near them. Bunch of crooks.

I suspect CR are bogged down with all these tickets. I sent mine through last week sometime. At the end of the day you win some and you lose some, I'm fortunate to have never had a negative OzBargain experience in all my years until now so I consider myself lucky to be only $15.20 out of pocket in all that time. I'll put it down to OzBargain membership cost :)

But to the earlier comment above - I don't consider the deal a "scam", it was nobody's fault Yomojo changed the rules after committing to a contract but Yomojo themselves. It's turned out to be a bust but that's different to being a scam IMHO.

        • +1

          @Click_It:
Hopefully the Cashback comes through for you, & all of us!

        • +1

          @Infidel:
I think the majority here are watching this waiting for the cashback as the deadline is around now for most of use. They don't want to bag out the company because that might affect the cashback decisions.
If THAT doesn't happen after all the hiccups I assume everyone will crack the shits and go bananas. And fair enough too.
Most are watching, waiting to see how it goes.

        • @King Tightarse:
Back to my complaining to Yomojo then.

  • My cashback should be here today, but has not yet been approved..

    • Yep just like all of us. Mine was meant to be approved yesterday.

  • +33

Hi all. An update. Even though we’ve already begun paying cashback from this promo to some members, the vast majority are yet to have their due funds approved. Reason: we’re waiting on Yomojo and our affiliate partner to confirm transactions so we can cross check against the tracked purchases in our system. Without this, we have no idea if your transaction is actually approved for cashback by Yomojo or not. We’re hoping to receive this file by Monday, and they can then push the funds through to us for payout to our members. I’ve been working my butt off to get this sorted, but because of the many issues identified in the comments, it hasn’t been smooth sailing and thus the delay. I'm not making excuses, but trying to be as transparent as I possibly can. Please stick with us while we do our best to sort this out.

    • +3

      Thanks ta. Appreciate your effort.

    • +4

      It's okay bruh…
If you guys didn't exist we'd get no cashback at all tbh.
I've never considered cashback a thing until I've tried you guys out and are legit, so far it has been ebay, AliExpress, ozgameshop and even scorptec surpringly.

Easy site to navigate, keeps track of all our purchases, and it's simply 2-3 clicks away from withdrawing once we save in our bsb/acc number.

How cashback is sustainable is beyond me, because you're not taking money from us but are giving it away… Keep up the good work!

      • +1

Thanks so much for the support :)

        • +1

Thanks mate no doubt about your effort and transparency.

    • +4

Thanks very much for the update TA as always!

    • Thanks for the update TA., Appreciate your efforts in getting this through.

I also got the cancel email. Never received any sim. This company is not reliable.

    • Massive understatement 😠

Email from Yomojo after I asked:
Please forward your version of the t&c of this promotion. This seems to be the area of dispute. That will help clear this up.

    Hi,
    Please read these important guidelines:
    New Yomojo customers only
Order the $19.90 SIM at the reduced price of $14.90 (+30c or 45c processing fee)
You must order a new SIM (not a replacement SIM)
You will receive the SIM within 3-5 business days
Upon receipt of the SIM, you have up to 7 days to activate it
Cashback will be APPROVED in your CR acct no later than 15 days after activation of SIM
Offer ends June 30, but activation beyond this date is still ok as above
AdBlock may cause issues with tracking technology, so it'd be wise to disable it first
Allow up to 7 days for your tracking email to arrive

In addition, it's stated on the terms with Cashrewards that you need to activate the SIM seven days after receipt. It shows that it was sent by logistics last 30th-Jun-2017 and you should have it within 3-5 days.

Again, I'm really sorry as there's no way to reinstate the order. Don't worry as we have process the refund in the account and expect refund process within 5 business days.

(Bold added to original for emphasis)

Their t&c are same as deal t&c (Upon receipt of the SIM, you have up to 7 days to activate it),
with one addition at the bottom they keep using as reason to cancel SIMs (need to activate the SIM seven days after receipt).

Strange how they can quote the t&c of the promotion, but not be able to quote the actual addition… If it existed, they would quote it. Seems they have been quoting this 'addition' as basis for cancelling SIMs so have to now conveniently 'find it' as seems there is no proof!

(We never agreed to SIM cancellation, but Yomojo hasn't answered, since I started asking on 10/7, where that t&c is we must have agreed to - otherwise Yomojo has breached the contract with customers.)

Yomojo seem to claim receipt is when SIM was sent, rather than the usual meaning of when SIM is received! This strange interpretation has been commented on earlier.

    I replied with:
    You claim
In addition, it's stated on the terms with Cashrewards that you need to activate the SIM seven days after receipt.

There is no such addition stated as you claim. See full t&c published by CashRewards below.

(t&c published by CashRewards & in this deal description)

Escalate complaint to someone who understands the ramifications of Yomojo's actions.

You have wasted far too much of my time ignoring your own t&c, rather blaming & penalizing the customer.

And… another email from me in response:
As those t&c state & I keep saying:
Upon receipt of the SIM, you have up to 7 days to activate it

    In simple English,
    receipt
    noun
    1. the action of receiving something or the fact of its being received.
"I would be grateful if you would acknowledge receipt of this letter"

By definition, you can't receive something when it has just been sent (taking days to deliver, as stated in your response & original promotion) as Yomojo contend! I've shown this to a consumer lawyer who agrees with me.

If Yomojo has written conflicting t&c, the ones shown prominently in the promotion would take precedence.

So the t&c state we had 7 days after receiving the SIM to activate!

Yomojo has ignored it's t&c in this promotion and breached contract with the customers.

    • +2

      Nice work former Bruce.
Let it be known to flaky and/or dodgy organizations:
Do not piss this man off, for he will get you. He will describe in fine details your wrong-doings and point them out to you with undeniable logic until such time as your argument fumbles and collapses.
He will keep getting you and continue to get you until such time as you are effectively got.
      That is all.

      • +1

It takes me a while to assemble the evidence, but I eventually prove my case.

Not that Yomojo wants to change anything - it still contends it's magical unproven "In addition" t&c is all they need to prove we didn't activate in time to qualify for the Cashback or even a sim 😠

        Thanks for your support KT.

    • So the published t&c: "Upon receipt of the SIM, you have up to 7 days to activate it"
deals with receipt of a physical object - the SIM. Receipt of the SIM was expected to take 3-5 days according to promotion t&c. The 7 days start from receiving the SIM.

Which conflicts with the t&c Yomojo hasn't provided proof exits: "In addition, it's stated on the terms with Cashrewards that you need to activate the SIM seven days after receipt",
which deals with possibly just the receipt of the email notification that a SIM has been sent. The 7 days start from sending the SIM NOTIFICATION. This is what Yomojo is telling customers is the reason for their not meeting the t&c of the promotion.

Conveniently this unseen (to the buyer) t&c is used as justification by Yomojo to cancel SIMs & possibly Cashback.

CashRewards t&c did have an addition (see deal description): "To qualify for the $35 Cashback, customers must sign up before 30th of June 2017 and activate within 7 days of receipt of SIM". So Yomojo just dropped the words "of SIM" to justify its false claims that 7 days started from SIM sent notification…

I think there are some choice terms for people or businesses that play that sort of game… Due to the usual threat of lawsuits (I've got a wardrobe full of old ones), I prefer not to say more on my thoughts of Yomojo!

  • it seems like everyone has the same problem as mine. they claimed that they have been sent the sim which is never arrived. I got a replacement today but I don't think they would honor the promo at all as it's a replacement :(

    • Give it a go. And good luck.
But Yomojo seem to want to turn t&c to their advantage.

  • Still have not received my approval for cashback. Has anyone else had any luck..

    • Still waiting too..been over 2 weeks

    • Still waiting also, despite being within the terms and conditions.

  • Is there anyone who has activated but but still not received rewards 15 days after? I double checked with Cashrewards and they said haven't received any information from Yomojo.

I'm still within the 15 days of activation, so I'm yet to escalate it.
I did take a photo of the envelope when I received it, and clearly shows they sent it out on 7 July. I received it on the 11 July and activated it immediately.
I decided to get evidence along the entire way just in case.

Hi again. As per this earlier update, we've now begun manually approving a stack of transactions which will continue through until later today. Would love to get confirmation/feedback once your transaction moves from pending to approved. Thanks again for your patience.

Thanks for your hard work as usual TA, after helping me out individually and now helping everyone else out as a whole you're doing wonders for the community, keep it! Yomojo need to learn a thing or two about visiblity and contact.

The whole CR team should be applauded for their efforts in creating these deals.

    This company is a joke.

Thanks TA, mine has been approved, Thanks for the deal.

  • Not really the place for it but can anyone recommend a Telstra or Vodafone network prepaid sim that is <$10 which can be picked up in person from a shop? >1GB data included. In all the dramas going on I allowed my Amaysim sim to expire. I have a 365 day Kogan ready to go but if there's a cheap Telstra sim anywhere I'll stretch that out another month (doesn't need to be activated until August 31).

  • Does this yomojo and the earlier amaysim purchase regard as qualifying purchase for the CR refer a mate program?

  • Looking forward to seeing cashback approved later today

    • I hope so. Mine is still pending.

Got mine, no cashback after 15 days so I put a ticket in and confirmed the next day, thanks Cashrewards team!

    • Great news. Out of interest, did you receive an email from CR confirming that the approval was actioned?

      • I got this email, I'm not sure if it just happened to process on it's own before the ticket was processed or it was done manually.
