          @PissLUR:
          Yes, ordinarily.

But in this case no SIM has been allocated to account.
Account is on hold on their system, before SIM allocation & later dispatch.

No SIM allocated so can't be activated.
No SIM activated so No Cashback.

But I'm confident it would be worked out, eventually.

Cashback has been unnecessarily delayed by a week due to Yomojo system error (see chat) & lack of communication to alert me that a problem exists 😡

My guess is others may be affected without knowing.

  • Do any one having problem using the mobile data? I am using Android and follow the APN setting(yesinternet) but still not working, can any one help?

    • Just activated mine. Data works for me. Use APN yesinternet and Android. Voice work for you but no data?

      • I set it correctly and when I log into my account the Active Sim button is grey out and message said SIM active on 26/06/2017. I do a live chat with them and being told the sim is not activated.

        • When they sent out the SIM, they sent the 'SIM on its way' email as well. At that moment the line saying "Your service will be activated on XX/XX/2017. You can also change the date." will become "Your service will be activated on XX/XX/2017. You can also activate now or change the date." and the 'Activate SIM' button comes alive.

When it is activated, you will know it is activated when you see it (colour bars, etc…)

Looks like they sent out the SIM but didn't change the state of your dashboard.

        • +1

Did anyone else also get the Sim on its way email? I haven't received the sim, and wonder if not receiving that email may mean it is many days away. Sim is scheduled to be activated today 2/7/2017.

I know Amaysim sends a "Your amaysim SIM card is on its way" email, sylvester328 could that be what you are referring to? Getting worried now I didn't receive any for Yomojo.

          Thanks,
          Tim

        • @tim_geo:

Yep I haven't received it either.

  • Can we postpone activation date to later than 6/7/17 and still getting CR?

  • I got the sim yesterday and was trying to activate and the system has set activation on 07/07/2017. I tried to change to 29 then 30. System keep on trying to update and then I chatted with online support today morning and they said it will take 2 days to activate. So this is a very bad experience. Everybody should stay away from this company

    • +2

This telco is a train wreck.

      • Yep. My sim was withheld because apparently my address has 'multiple users'. Smh.

  • So once activated online, can you cancel immediately and still get the $35?

  • I bought the sim card on 23 Jun but haven't received the tracking email nor the tracking shown in my account yet. I have the CR browser extension installed on my computer and made sure the CR extension was activated before making the purchase. The sim card was activated on 29 Jun but I haven't received anything from CR yet.

    • Hi DealWatcher27. If you have a click out to Yomojo at time of purchase in your CR Click History, and you met all the requirements in the OP, please open a ticket via the CR Contact Us page and the CS team will take care of it for you. Ensure you upload your Yomojo invoice as well. Out of interest, did you use an AdBlocker? Thanks.

  • SIM is meant to activate today yet I can't click on the activate button… It's still greyed out….. -_-

    • +3

Mine was meant to be activated yesterday, but the activate was still greyed out today. I used their online chat and they activated my SIM straight away.

  • +1

Mine says SIM will activate on 30/06/2017 but that has come and gone. Also no sim received. What a useless telco.

  • Got my sim yesterday, but unable to activate it.
The button is greyed out. My sim was meant to be activated on 29th.

    • Apparently the sims card sent to me is faulty according to the help desk who is trying to manually activate mine.

  • Ordered sim on the 23/06/17 but still hasn't arrived in the mail… not sure if the deal will still be valid?

    • +1

Have you received email that your SIM has been sent?

If yes, chat with Yomojo to get SIM sent again. You need to activate the SIM (may be done online or via chat) to get the Cashback.

If not see the long discussion & chat transcript about Yomojo system putting orders on hold without notice.

No SIM allocated to your account -> No activation possible -> No cashback! No soup for you!

It's affected a few people so far, when ordering more than 1 SIM (for family members) to an address, or other issues. Fixed by contacting Yomojo.

It's possible, if you don't complain, the order may be cancelled or not be considered completed & may not qualify for Cashback 💸💸💸

      • Thanks Infidel. Messaged them and there was a delay due to SIM being withheld due to logistics in their system

  • Just spoke to a rep. Apparently the reason the SIM wasn't sent was because it was put on hold with no comms sent to me… the reason.. They detected that the household has another sim provider associated, but not with Yomojo - With any other company.
Geez. What a crap company. Makes Telstra look good.

    • For days I've been warning about this type of issue & to contact Yomojo asap to avoid delays to Cashback or order cancellation.

Most comments since I posted about the issue on 29/6 have dealt with this type of problem. It's a good idea to read comments about a similar issue.

Contacted TA to alert of issue - he was aware from my warning comments & considered them adequate. That means CR knows if there are further issues.

Any suspected SIM issue (they think another Yomojo SIM was sent to same address, multiple SIMs already registered to address already, etc) & order is put on hold without notice.

See my comment just above your's, chat transcript about similar issue & other comments over last few days

      • -1

You ordered two of their SIMs to the same address. I didn't.
I still think it's crazy that because anyone in the household has a SIM from any provider, the order gets put on hold.

        • +1

Others comments under mine were for other issues as I said. My comment triggeted comments from others with similar issues. But the issues weren't likely to be confined to those - as we don't know the reasons Yomojo has for suspending orders.

The result was the same - order put on hold, no SIM allocated so received no SIM sent email, & no communication. We were left in the dark & possibly could have missed out on Cashback.

Others still haven't realised this & complained to Yomojo. (in bold to warn others)

It's not as if anyone could expect their order to be put on hold for reasons only known to Yomojo. And those numerous issues in their order system were never communicated to us, before or after order.

I think I've made my thoughts on Yomojo clear before :-(

It's still a good deal, let down by an idiotic system & lack of communication by Yomojo.

    • Did you ever have a Yatango SIM?
That seems to be the real issue - discussed below.

      • -1

Never. Only ever had Telstra or Vodafone but the rep said that another sim from any company could be an issue? Strange.

  • Just activated mine .. initially it said "Activation Unsuccessful".
But then I logged out and logged back in, the the coloured bars show up wit an expiry date.

Now, it expires on 2 Aug. Should incoming still work after that date ?

And the Auto top-up is already set to Off by default.

  • OK so the activation that was promised for the weekend didnt occur, surprise surprise so I spoke to customer service again today. Still no SIM card and they basically have NFI what is going on.
It might arrive this week (maybe)

  • +1

Did an online chat as haven't received sim card, they said system detected "potential duplicate of orders". On pressing rep said I had past sim not active anymore. So the best I can guess is that if you had signed up under Yatango, you would need to contact them to get your sim.

Really poor experience in my opinion.

    • +1

Right that might explain my case. I had a Yotango SIM for a few months once - probably a promotion here but it has been canceled for many years.
So basically, if you or anyone at your address has ever held a Yotango SIM , it seems the entire ordering process breaks down and there are no notifications. The (offshore "who are we doing today") call centre staff are not informed and offer a range of confused replies.
This company needs an urgent procedural overhaul.
      Current status: utter shambles

    • +1

Yes, suspected it was the Yatango deal I had signed up for years ago that was causing problems, not that they admitted that.

Chat asked if I had another Yomojo SIM at my address - yes, had ordered 1 for family member. (Likely was Yatango one years ago.) "That could be a problem. The system detected that there's a potential duplicate sim under your household."

I had looked into this when deal posted. Had received emails from Yomojo a year back saying they missed me… Even though I never had heard of them. My details for Yatango were still valid - tested using email addresses, requested password change, but didn't let me into account. So thought signing up may cause an issue.

Still they are sending the 2 SIMs (emails received) I requested for family & said I qualify for this deal. Chat transcript

    • I signed up for this attractive Yatango deal in 2013 (so long ago)
      30 Day Yatango Mobile Free Trial 1000 Minutes / 1000 Texts / 3GB Data - Free Sim

There were many similar Yatango free SIM deals 2013-14. How could an Ozbargainer refuse!

  • Received my sim 29/7. Couldn't activate it through my account as the button was greyed out. Online chat activated my sim for me and everything is working fine.

  • -1

Never received a sim - any chance of still getting my reward?

EDIT: just did an online chat with support, they gave me the duplicate order story. So, any idea if I'll still get my cashback?

    • Didn't you read extensive deal discussions about this issue in last few days? Yomojo answer was given.

  • Finally got my SIM activated today. The whole process was ugh: requested to activate via message on Saturday night, they replied at 4pm Sunday asking for SIM number and DOB, I relied 4:30pm, then today at 11:15am they replied again asking if they should go ahead and activate the SIM…. umm duuuh! Anyway finally activated at 4pm today. Data is working fine but I can't get tethering to work. Do they not support it or something?

  • +1

Still have not received my sim, ordered on 23/06. Maybe they try to get their way out of the Cashback offer? Yomoho? Never again?

    • +2

Didn't you read extensive deal discussions about this issue in last few days?

  • Still dont have my SIM. Called them and they advised it was not sent due to 2 sims going to the same address. Not a great experience.

    • +2

Didn't you read extensive deal discussions about this issue in last few days?

And my warnings & repeated comments to read what has already been discussed, including chat transcript.

  • I too have not received my SIM, after ordering on evening of 23 June. "5 business days shipping" means effectively it could have taken until end of yesterday to arrive. Called them today and they claim it was sent, but I never received the 'SIM on its way' email (which other Ozbargainers seem to have), so I'm exceedingly dubious they did actually send it. Only ordered one SIM for our address, and was never a customer of Yatango, so I have to suspect there is yet another reason they sometimes don't send SIMs. And of course no email or communications to alert of any problem, just a silent hold. I'll keep chasing Yomojo up, and will follow up with cashrewards if the cashback is not paid within 15 days of activation.

    • Update: Finally got a "Your SIM is on its way!" email from Yomojo on 5th July, which definitely I did not receive before. So, if you haven't got that email, it seems most likely that they haven't even posted out your SIM.

Also, when I spoke to them they highly recommended phoning to activate, rather than doing via their web site, as I was porting a number in. So I suspect the "Activate" button doesn't always work if you're porting.

      • As previously discussed over last week.

Chat to fix the various Yomojo problems. The advantage of chat over phoning them is you can keep a copy of the transcript eg, in case the problem isn't solved or further problems arise. Recommended for resolving Cashback problem by CR Rep TA (Hold on to all your chats/emails)

  • +1

Ordered a few hours after deal posted.
Complained on 29/6 about no SIM sent email & no SIM.

Got the "another SIM at your address" excuse why order was on hold, but they agreed to send both family member's SIMs. Chat transcript

(I was a Yatango customer in 2013, so was on their database. Not that they told me that could be the reason.)

    SIMs arrived in mail today.

Now to activate - others have had problems at this stage. So will not wait max 7 days allowed in this deal to qualify for Cashback. Too much has gone wrong already😣

    Thanks TA.

  • Sim received after complaining last week, log in to website to activate and found that the option is greyed out. So ANOTHER customer service call needed just to activate. Then after all these, I want to change my credit card info to a debit card (which I plan to have zero balance in case these hacks bill me next month because there is no option to cancel auto renewal), and their website crashed in the middle of the change. Turns out there is some stupid scripting error which freezes Chrome and IE. I was finally able to change my credit card info by using Firefox with No-Script addon.

Moral of the story, STAY THE F*** AWAY FROM THESE HACKS!!!

      • Auto top-up is different to auto-renewal.

        • With this business, it's hard to know what is what…
Will wait until I get through activation to know what Yomojo means.

        • @Infidel:

My sim activated last week. Yesterday i went on live chat and had auto-renewal deactivated.

The live chat rep told me i can do it myself by adjusting the sliders on change my plan (mentioned on this deal somewhere) .. however just to be safe i got him to do it. I think my plan expires on July 27th now so i shouldn't get charged after that.

  • What's going on with Yomojo??? Ordered 23/6, tracked on CR… no sim received till now!!! What a shambles!!!

  • Managed to "chat" with them, the reason given was because the order was "duplicated"!!! What BS excuse? So if I didn't call, they'd just be sitting on their arse??? Didn't they think of contacting me to sort it out??? I guess this shows the quality of this mob!??

  • Ordered on 23/06, haven't received the SIM yet but activated the SIM anyhow. Received the cashback today and have withdrawn it.

Looks like you can cancel by doing the following: Login to Yomojo's dashboard > Click Change your plan > Click the Personalised tab > Ensure everything is set to $0 and Save.

Just in case, I've taken screenshots of these settings and the successfully changed message. It does mention upgrades and downgrades will take effect on your next recharge. Could appear a little vague so will probably call to cancel the service as well.

    • Honestly you should get your credit card company to do a charge back since they did not deliver the goods you paid for.

      • Need to play carefully in that space as I work for the FI where my credit card is held ;)

  • +3

Got mine approved.. Thanks Cashrewards & tightarse.

    Yomojo 5/07/2017 AUD1.00 AUD 35.00

    • Thanks for the feedback :)

    • When did you activate your SIM? I activated mine on June 26th (before it even arrived in the mail), but still waiting for cashback to be approved. 14 days. I know it said max 15, let's hope the best…

      • Hi, I activated my sim on June 27th so today is 13 days for me. I still haven't received my cashback either.

I have another 2 days to wait before i will contact cash rewards to find out what the delay is.

It seems like Yomojo don't want to pay up!!

  • +2

Done! $35 approved and on the way to my bank account, thanks TA, you've done it again!

    • Enjoy :)

  • I just received an email from them. Apparently my order has not been finalised and they tell me now (12 days later)…

Is there any chance of getting cashback if I receive it next week and then activate it?

    Hey there,

    How's it going?

We just need to confirm a few things before we finalise your order. Can you please confirm the following?

Upon checking, it seems that our system has detected that you might have 4 or more mobile services under your name, that's why your SIM is not yet sent. Please be advised that the ACCC has mandated that consumers should only have 3 mobile services under their name. Can you please confirm the following?

    • Do you have 4 or more mobile services under your name?
    • Did you use a Prepaid Credit/Debit card to register your account?
    • Can you confirm your delivery address?

Hope to hear from you soon!
    Regards,
    Ira
    Support Manager

    • Hold on to all your chats/emails. Not your fault they're yet to deliver the SIM. We'll chase this up for you with Yomojo if your rewards aren't approved within 15 days of activation. Just open a ticket via the Contact Us page :)

      • Thanks.

    • Hahaha ACCC, they seem to be using the regulator name deceptively as an excuse. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission wanting to limit the number of mobile services you have. Hahahaha… Ok what a joke, but still funny if you think about it.

      • Hahaha, I didn't actually think about that but yes you're correct.

    • +1

They are flat out lying. No such law/mandate exists.

    • +1

ronnknee - Time to contact the ACCC with a copy of that email.

If Yomojo are shown to be telling cutomers an untrue statement, using the ACCC as an excuse, the ACCC won't be too happy.

I have about 6 active SIMs with Telstra. Telstra have never commented on the number of SIMs or the ACCC mandated ruling.

Also, Yomojo didn't question my number of active SIMs, just that I had a duplicate SIM from Yomojo at same address (had ordered SIM for family member in this deal, & had Yantango SIM in 2013).

    • got asked the same questions. only after i sent the answers they shipped the SIM card out.

  • +1

I got my sim yesterday and just activated it. Do I need to cancel any auto recharge? The website shows my credit card on file and I took the new number so won't be porting.

  • Still waiting for mine completely forgot about it till today. Contact live chat if you are as well took just a couple of mins.

    https://www.yomojo.com.au

  • +3

Looks like their website has been hacked… wonder if our details are safe…

  • Something going on with their website, it's showing 'Hello world' on homepage as at 21:55.

    • Yep… All pages down on their site, homepage says Hello World. Doesn't contain a SSL certificate anymore either, so browsers complain about it no longer being secure.

  • +2

Same here. Can't even log in to activate SIM. Hope I do not get screwed out of my CR if I am unable to activate in time. Can't wait to cancel this joke of a service.

  • just wondering when Yomojo is gonna approve the cashrewards….

    • Was wondering the same thing. It was mentioned within 15 days of sim activation though on the first page.

If you scroll up in the comments two people have had their rewards approved. I activated mine on the 27th and still no rewards yet.

  • Still get htpps Your connecroom is not private trying to access Yomojo site. Worrying!

    • Bloody new phone's spellchecker… connection

  • I ordered 4 SIMs from Yomojo (yeah I know… 4)

1 arrived but I thought it automatically activated (I recall setting the activation date to 30/06/2017 when I bought it) so I didn't pay any attention to it since then. Now I realised it required manual activation and I'm outside of the 7 days so I've blown $15 there. I guess I take the blame for being negligent?

The other 3 haven't arrived at all. Starting to feel like I've blown $60. Not happy.

What was the purpose of that auto-activation date on your account if it still requires a manual activation? Seems really shrewd.

    • +1

Agreed, it showed auto-activation now after logging in required manual activation. If I don't get my cashback I am going to be pissed.

  • Can anyone confirm if they can get to Yomojo's website? I messaged them on Facebook and they claim they've just tried and can login fine.

I've tried multiple internet connections and browsers with the same issue.

    Something seems fishy…

    • Yup, working on multiple browsers for me. Site was down for at least 14 hours until this morning. Have you tried incognito?

      • Just tried IE11 (shudder) and it worked. Really wierd… Still not working on Chrome even after clearing cache.

Tried on a desktop (corporate PC Google Chrome), Macbook Safari and iPhone Safari and all experienced the same issue.

        • Standard Chrome was 100% working for me 10 minutes ago, but not now! Incognito Chrome is fine. Firefox and Edge also work fine.

Edit: if I type yomojo.com.au into Chrome's URL window, works fine. Add www or click from Google and it crashes.

        • +1

@tightarse: They raised the issue with their Tech Support after my message, perhaps trying to fix it up now as it's reporting a different error.

        • +1

@tightarse: Working in Chrome now, possible fixed it from their end…

        • @tightarse: I was not able to activate my SIM yesterday as I got the SIM very late and the site was down. Yomojo now says the promotion is over and I can no longer log in.
Does this mean I wont get my cashreward?

        • @naruto128: Keep your chats and log a ticket with CR if you're not paid within 15 days. Late delivery of the SIM is not your fault.

  • Great deal TA! But won't be dealing with Yomojo anymore after I receive my cash back..

Oh well, unless there is another cash back deal like this..
