My 100th Post :)

I just found a coupon for the 20000mAh version of this power bank and seems like the cheapest it has been :) Perfect for anyone who missed out on the banggood deal and this is cheaper than that. You can save an extra $2 on registration as you are given 200 points for making an account. Brings it down to 19.99USD.

The 10000mAh version is also available for $13.99 Here if you want a lower storage and cheaper price.

I used MasterCard conversion rates to get these AUD amounts.

Price has increased to USD $24.51 so I have expired this price.

Mod 25/7: The powerbank no longer ships to Australia and existing purchases don't appear to have been shipped. Please see comments and contact retailer if your item hasn't shipped.

Also available for a cheap price from TomTop are:

Xiaomi WiFi Amplifier 2 $7.99USD (~$10.20AUD) with XYL8WFAF

  • Great price on the PB2, just bought my second one.

  • Has anyone tried the headphones curious to know how they stack up against the pistons. (are these same thing as hybrids?)

    • +1

There's some pretty good reviews here. Not sure how they stack up against pistons though unfortunately.

      • ah k. These are the same as hybrids. PS congrats on 100!

        • I believe so, I think they've got a better build quality than the hybrids however, I'm not 100% sure. Thanks!

    • Feels like a true quality build, very solid and quite luxurious.
Do you have problems with symbalance? (please correct my spelling)
Basically, if the levels have an emphasis on bass and highs, like a V shape you will notice the "hiss" of the high pitched instruments and noises. Like the drum symbol becomes irritable and sticks out above all other instruments.

So if you are like me, even though the bass is great, the highs are just too loud, trying to fix it with the EQ gets messy and things start sounding muddy.

If you have normally enjoyed V shaped headphones than it should be ok.

I still stick with my pistons 3 youth edition and people say that's got a flat response shape.

      • I'm actually looking for something to use when running not sure if these will fall out easily.

But they do seem to be advertised as sports earphones.

As for profile I liked a flatter profile but I have earphones which i quite like to use at home.

        • +1

This website names these earphone weirdly, it usually goes by the name piston PRO HD, basically the 2nd gen of the hybrid earphones, that's it's selling point.

I guess since build quality is good it could be durable but it's just standard earphones,

in fact xiaomi released wireless earphones maybe thats better for running.

        • @TheOneWhoGotAway: the wire is not to much a problem for me but i do find certain earphones fall out of my ear easily.

  • Are these 20000mAh ones fine on international flights? New rules are confusing to me.

    • I have no issues and have had inspection done of the actual unit in BKK by the screening staff

    • -1

Depends where you go. China is pretty strict.

      • +1

        Even with their own products??

        • +1

Especially with their own products.. they know how common poor QC and fakes are

        • +2

Funny. I am Chinese and own this power bank. It's absolutely fine on the flight. I don't know who is so stupid that using a not-working power bank.

      • Have been through Beijing, Shanghai, Sanya etc … last being Shanghai in April … they all inspect and just waive through. BKK & SIN in June.

        • I've had a 2,600 mah powerbank in check-in baggage refused past x-ray

Carried multiple powerbanks in hand luggage at a different airport and security inspected the ratings on each one individually.

The official limit is 100 watt hours (20,000 mah is 74 watt hour). This Xiaomi 20,000 mah should pass inspection technically, but its a bit dicey.. especially if you have other batteries.

Just google china airport and powerbanks and you can see what they're like. They don't always catch you.. but can be quite a hassle when they do.

        • +1

@Thrawn: Ok I can only speak from experience with 16+ in / outs through China in the last yr … often through HKG, HEL, LHR, SIN & BKK as my common ports. I have a 20,000 and a 5,200 & 1,500 mah that travels with me on-board as part of my junk (I only travel HLO). Never an issue.

        • +2

@Thrawn: You can only carry it by yourself. Carrying it with checked baggage is banned.

        • +1

@presentv: I know. It's banned on other countries as well.. but usually they never check. China does

        • @Thrawn: Weird. I believe there are so many Chinese people carrying power bank on the flight, never heard of news like that.

        • @presentv: Yes, I accidentally put it in checked baggage in Tokyo. The staff called me through PA shortly after checked-in and ask me to remove it.

  • +7

Thanks bought a 20000 one. No idea why though, I already have a 10000 one

    • +2

      Cause your a true OzBargainer!

      • +3

you know sometime i think we spend more just buying stuff anyway ;)

  • +3

Why do the new power banks still use micro USB connection? I know there are adapters for type C but it's just easier to have only one cable and one power bank.

    • +9

Because there are way more micro usb devices than usb-c devices.

      • Exactly

      • +3

Using that logic, it would be impossible for new technology to supersede the norm.

        • +3

It's not impossible. However we are talking possibly decades for such a prevalent standard to be phased out, and there needs to be tangible improvements to justify the change. As a comparison, we are still seeing things released on DVD and still seeing products which are only usb 2.0 compatible. Their production is obviously on the decline but these processes can take a long time before they completely phase out. Further, micro usb is a damn good standard for a lot of low powered gadgets and there is really no justification to swap to usb c.

  • Is this store reputable?

    • yeah I want to know this too. are they gonna be genuine? I've used bangood before and they're legit.

    • +6

They've got 98.3% rep on their eBay store and have been around for quite a while. So they seem to be quite genuine. The negs seem to be relating to a 30 day wait or bad quality on cheap products (<$2).

      • thanks !

    • bought a Xiaomi quadcopter from them a week ago, arrived in about 8 days so they seem OK. Also got a bunch of quad batteries on the way also

      • +1

Ummm, the maths doesn't add up…

        • Exact dates are a little fuzzy

Took about a week or so to arrive though

  • does it come in black?

    • +2

No, unfortunately it only comes in white.

      • bummer…. white doesn't really go with the suit.

      • +1

dang, it doesn't go well with my dong.

  • +1

Does anybody have N experience on how long they take to deliver to sydney?

  • +1

shit.. its $3 cheaper than bang good deal.. Already placed the order for $32.99…… 3 days ago.. Can I cancel the order ..paid via PayPal. How reliable TomTop..

    • Yeah sorry I didn't see this deal before posting the BangGood deal, I reckon continue with the BangGood deal as they will most likely deliver it quicker than this if you don't mind missing the extra $3.

    • +1

Me too, and I've never even owned or needed to use a powerbank before. Oh well such is the nature of bargains, you win some, you lose some.

  • WiFi amplifier: code does not exist???

    • +1

Whoops, the coupon is actually "XYL8WFAF", my bad. Have updated thanks!

  • Can't get the code for the WiFi amplifier to work… doesn't seem to be valid.

    • +1

      Should work now, use "XYL8WFAF"

  • +1

Will this work with the Oneplus 3?

My other portable chargers don't charge it, might be because it uses USB C.

    • It works. I have both.

      • Thanks! Grabbed one for my trip to Japan later in the year :)

How many charges do you get out of it with your OnePlus 3, roughly?

        • +1

5 times maybe? Btw this power bank doesn't support dash charge and you need a type-c adapter or a type-c cable.

        • @presentv: Awesome, thanks!

And don't worry, I wasn't expecting it to. Even the official Oneplus power banks don't support dash charge.

  • After the Paypal screen with the discounted price it goes back to the Tomtop website with the full price showing again. Does anyone have this issue, does it charge the full price?

    • Click on 'view order' as I did and the true price shows

  • What are the xiaomi moving coil earphones? I haven't heard of that type before. Does anyone have a review? I can't seem to find one…

    Edit: Nevermind, read above comment.

  • +3

    7.20% cashback too

  • +1

    bought the powerbank,
apparently cashrewards is giving my $4 back sometime in the next year,
it works to be $24 i think (?)
for an item i have no idea why i purchased,
from a seller I've never heard of,

Yup I've learnt NOTHING from the whole roboguy debacle lol

    • At least you're ordering from a big company than someone who has no previous experience :) I paid an additional $1 for tracking just in case.

      • I'm chatting to Live Chat now to see if I can still upgrade my shipping now to include a tracking number, but they want to charge me US$ 2.62 extra per order. Sure it was only $1 extra? Maybe cheaper if you choose that option whilst ordering before it's finalised?

        • +1

Sorry I should've elaborated further, it was $1.62 additional for the wifi amplifier for me.

        • +1

          @doweyy:

Thanks for speedy reply. Yes, sounds like they work out an extra % from order value, something like +-15% of order total maybe.

  • I can't get the 20000mah power bank for 21.99usd….

    • +1

Still works for me, you need to be logged in to use the code and put it in the "+Have a Promotion Code?" section in the shopping cart.

      • It's telling me the price is over 30usd with the code I don't have an account and the code is working

        • +1

Hmm, I just tried it without being logged in and it came to $21.99USD with "XYL25BPA". Not sure why yours isn't working.

        • @doweyy: I'll try it on my PC instead of phone

  • Too bad these Xiaomi is not able to charge my Xiaomi laptop. Would be good if it did… Anyways, I've just ordered this RAVPower 26800mAh PD power bank off Amazon instead.

  • +3

Thanks OP…AUD 26.61 via paypal for the 20000 mAh. I registered with Tomtop first then loaded it into my trolley. I closed this then went thru your link to the deal. What appeared on the payment page was '200 points' being available to use. Equated to USD 2.00. Bargin!!

    • +3

      Awesome!

  • +2

great powerbank. bought mine some time ago & it's still going strong. great for keeping my gopro & phone charged on day trips

  • +1

Thanks OP, grabbed one of each and all three codes worked 100%, great reductions. Pulled the trigger too quick the OzBargain way and forgot to click through the Cashback site to score total $4.60 extra back in savings. Oh well, still great deals :-)

  • +9

I have also found a killer deal on the 10000mAh version also. If you order 2x 10000mAh version and add the coupon XMPB17 you can get both for $22.98USD delivered. It can even come down to $20.98 if you register a new account and use points.

    • +3

Thanks just purchased 2. Works out to be $27.18 AUD using Paypal.

      EDIT: Forgot Cashback….

      • Thanks! Registered for an account, kept the box ticked to sign up for the newsletter, that gave 300 points (200 without the newsletter subscription), which equates to US$3 discount for using the points + the US$17 discount for using the XMPB17 code, made the total US$19.98 for the 2x 10000mAH, paid with 28 degrees MasterCard, and have verified it was billed as AU$25.69. Also went through cashrewards for 7.2% cashback, which should hopefully equate to 25.69*0.072= AU$1.85 discount.

Also after checkout completed, it said "Get an extra 5% off sitewide with code: 5DISCOUNT", so future buyers could see if that code stacks with XMPB17. If not, just use XMPB17.

        • I don't think you can stack the codes.

    • Bought 2 x 10000mAh ones for $26.98 aud and just received an email from cashrewards saying I will get $3.68 back. Winning😄

  • Damn didn't know of the cash rewards 7.2% back when I bought the 10000mAH earlier this week!

    • Me too, with four separate order missing out on +-AU$ 6 Ouch. Got carried away pulling trigger thinking I was already getting for lowest ever price posted here on OzBargain, could have been even lower sweeter price now I know about Casback lol.

  • +1

I got mine for $25.28 AUD using paypay and the points you get from registering/joining on the website, pretty happy with that :) also 7.2% cash rewards

    • +1

Wow, you ticked all the boxes and got the max reward for your thoroughness. Cracker prices in the end this way.

  • +1

A member in your other deal suggested that this seller is banned on OzB, and you said they don't have the best rep, so how did you manage to post this?

    • +2

I think tomtop was put back onto the list of stores that is postable, also after some research I found that they are quite reputable.

      • What a quick turn of events, eh? Aight!

  • I'm getting "Does not meet the rules of use" when using the code for the Powerbank :(

    • +1

fixed. cart wasnt up to date :D

      • FFS. now getting "This item can't be shipped to Australia"

  • There are plenty of 20000mha power banks on ebay for circa $25 normal price?

    • +1

I'm assuming they aren't Xiaomi. Or are the 1st generation Xiaomi. The standard price for the 20000mah Xiaomi Power Bank 2 is usually ~$30.

      • They're other brands. What's wrong with the other brands? Curious…

        • Xiaomi Powerbank are a reputable brand. Other cheaper brands sometimes exaggerate the mAh or built very poorly (which may explode/damage your device).

Other reputable brand includes Anker, Aukey, RavPower, etc

  • Xiaomi Moving-coil In-ear Earphone Optimised for Android

What's the differnce between this and Hybrid Pro HD?

    Xiaomi WiFi Amplifier 2

Is this the same thing as WiFi Extender 2?

    • look identical to me. might end up with some bodgy knockoff tho :D

      • As the above mentions two items, and post is for three separate items, so which do you mean, or all three maybe???
