  • Should I pull the trigger now or wait for a better deal? :/

    • +7

Wait for a better deal, LG phone prices come down hard like a Skrillex drop

    • -8

Does your mother still wipe your bum too?

    • -2

Wait 12 months until it bootloops. Then you can get it on ebay for free.

    • Avoid these guys at all costs.

Really sad LG went with an LCD panel rather than OLED for this phone. AOD kills the battery with the LCD panel whereas OLED would have been alright.

    • I had the phone for one week and it's barely noticeable. Didn't seem it consumes more energy in standby than other phones. Where do you have that information from?

      • From the fact that you can't turn only part of an LCD on at a time, it's all or nothing. Unlike OLED where you can turn on certain parts rather than the entire panel.

        • I was curious and checked it out, apparently it drains between 0.5 and 0.75% battery per hour which is the same as with the Galaxy S7/S8 (whose AOD are brighter though). So in my eyes nothing to complain about and definitely not an argument for AMOLED over LCD.

        • @GermanGeizhals: Well there's also the fact that AMOLED is usually brighter and also does a lot better colour reproduction, especially blacks being darker.

        • @potplanty: Plus burn-in problem !!

        • @potplanty: over saturation = colour reproduction?

That said, AMOLED does look better, but LCD isn't bad at all. I came from an S6 to the G6 and there's no way I would spend 50-60% more for the S8.

The G6 is a real bargain but is selling very poorly. It's a shame, but good for bargain hunters.

        • @brezzo: I'd consider the HDR in the G6 to be more comparative to high saturation than AMOLED.

        • @brezzo:

I am wondering why it is selling very poorly must be a reason.

        • @superforever: LG phones have sold poorly in recent years, especially off the back of the G5 which was a disaster, and the G4 bootloops.

The G6 is a very nice device, beautiful design (IMO) and the value for money is really evident. Same goes for the V20 (I prefer the thin bezels of G6 though).

There is no considerable reason that it's not selling too well. The main cons are:

          • Snapdragon 821 (not 835) - not a huge deal for everyday usage
          • Front-facing camera not the best quality
          • Updates are a bit slow (from LG) as they tend to go for big releases rather than every single update
          • Speaker isn't the best on the market, though the DS model has quad DAC for headphones (good quality)
          • Display is LCD and not AMOLED - but it's still an incredible display..

Compared to the Samsung, which still sells for well over $700 ($800?).. I seriously couldn't justify the extra $300-400..

      • Disagree. I had to turn AOD off too much backlight kills the battery. Try checking AOD in complete darkness

    • Agreed

  • Thanks OP. I'd actually already 'watched' this listing earlier today after seeing TA's post. Thanks for the reminder! Should be a decent upgrade to the wife's Galaxy S5.

    LG G6 for $468.90 or LG V20 for $391.50?

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/BRAND-NEW-LG-V20-H990DS-64GB-DUAL…

    • +2

Posting from my V20 and just bought my wife a G6. Depends what you want. The V20 is a massive handset. That is an insane price for a V20.

    • +4

The V30 is coming soon, might push the price of V20 down even further

    • Check youtube for comparisons. V20 is hugeeeee compared to the g6

  • Very tempting.

Have had a LG G3 for quite a while until I dropped it and cracked the glass a couple of months ago. Touch screen is no longer responsive. Have been using the wifes old Note 3 while trying to source a cheap replacement lcd screen but im looking at around $100. I was very happy with the G3.

Replace screen for around $100 or get the G6 ?????????

    • +1

The G3 really was an excellent phone (we had several in our house that all lasted forever).

$100 seems steep for a screen swap on an old phone - you could get a brand new G3 for not much more.

If you do, make sure you get the 3Gb/32Gb version as that RAM makes all the difference now.

      • After I broke the phone I did buy a new G3 of an ebay seller with good feedback. When I got the phone I noticed some difference and the phone looked like it had been refurbished (Poorly) then repackaged to look new. I suspected it may have even been a refurb copy! i compared to my G3 and there were some differences. Got a refund and made the decision that most of those G3 phones selling as new on ebay are not the real deal.

    • Get… fly like a G6, bruh.

  • Google home is out of stock now😫

    • Thanks, I'll fix that up. Next best is $148.50 delivered from Citiwide eBay if you wanted to grab one now instead of seeing if it comes back in stock or waiting for another eBay deal.

I am not fun of android but may I say this phone makes me change my mind :)
awesome phone , nice to hold big screen in small size phone work just perfect I highly recommend it for this price

  • +1

    Hope qdau at this price.

  • I just pulled the trigger. Can't wait anymore.

  • My lg g6 died this morning after just 1 month of use another lg brick never ever going to buy lg mobile in my life. Stay away from lg guys.

    • +1

Care to share what happened? Have been thinking about getting the G6 and your comment has made me worried about my choice.

    • Base on people pass LG experience that is why I still thinking …..

    • Bootloop??

      • -1

Yes, by the look of it.

        • +10

What do you mean "by the look of it" ?!??

It either has it, or it doesn't.
You were the one to complain about G6 problems, so you should have the answer right there in your hand.
Otherwise it seems like pointless complaining, or product staining/shaming due to a bias.

    • +2

You must be covered by warranty. Return it for refund or replacement.

  • +1

Has LG fixed the bootloop issue?? I would avoid LG like the plague unless you are certain its not going to bootloop in 12 months.

Lg customer service is woeful so the warrent is of limited use.

Edit : i just realised that this is gray stock. You may want to avoid gray atock in view of the bootloop issue.

    • There have been no widespread reports of bootloop issues with the G6.

I have one and haven't seen it mentioned in most of the forums about it. I'm sure it is possible it could be an issue, but so far it's not anywhere near like the G4/G5 fiasco.

      • +1

Thats what they said about the G5. Give it 12 months and see what happens. Good luck.

        • +2

Thanks :) For $470 I don't even care if it dies in a year :P

  • I didn't learned from my past lg g4 mistake and bought this g6 from last eBay deal from qdau. Anyhow woke up this morning to find out that phone is dead.. tried everything but nothing. Contacted qdau and they told me to hard reset which I did but just got lg startup screen only. So finally going to send it tomorrow morning as qdau promised to reimburse my postage. Wish me luck guys.

    • Good luck.

I just pulled the trigger and you made me worried.

    • +6

Just in case… Activate Paypal paid returns if the seller does not wish to reimburse your postage. It only takes a click.

      • +2

Thanks for the tip. Can't believe I've never known that option existed!

      • Thanks Scrimshaw. I can utilise this right now. I had no idea about this

    • +2

From reading comments of previous deals on this phone I thought everyone concluded that they fixed the bootloop since the G5?

    • +1

Good luck! Keep us posted on how they handle it. Hopefully they just replace the handset. I've been really happy with the G6 so far.

  • Does anyone have the link for the Black G6? I can only find one that costs $566 which the code takes it down to $509.40 not the same price as OP posted. Thanks

    • +1

      DWI increased the prices

      • Yeah I remember they have it for 50x yesterday.

  • Any recommendations on a 128G , dual sim phones where micro sd doesnt share the same space?

  • +1

Out of stock for LG G6 platinum too :(

    • +3

I think they just added more stock.

  • +2

Bought lg g6 loved everything about it except selfie camera :(

    • +2

Are you sure the problem is with the camera?

      • It's not the best front-facing camera on the market. It does come up in most reviews (and I have one too) as pretty poor.

Not a concern for me though :P

        • I was tossing between G6 and S7 edge. Should of gotten the G6. Curved screen is a gimmick. Makes the phone less usable.

        • +1

@zealmax: I forgot to mention that - yeah, I personally hate the S8 / S7 (edge) for that reason. S8 the curve is less dramatic but still I feel like I'd have to baby it constantly. Not to mention the distortion, and inability to put a tempered glass screen protector on.

G6 on the other hand is perfectly flat, I have a nice protector on it which I don't notice :)

      • icwatudidthar

      • Yes everything was good even battery timing speaker sound rear cam also does the job and loved the wide angle shots but when it came to front cam really poor even a 150 dollars xiaomi does better then that if you dont mind the selfie cam its a great phone for sure

  • +1

Managed to get one before it vanished.

  • Anybody has received the order or tracking number from DWI?

  • I just got moto g5 plus from dwi. However, the seal of the box was cut and the packaging seems to be opened.

Has anyome experienced receivong broken/cut seals from this seller?
