  • Did anyone manage to find flights for the cheap price ?

    • Tried to find Melb -> Osaka for the advertised price sometime in November - nada.

And re: return trip, from the prices I saw whilst trying to find the 'sale' tickets, the return trip (ie. Osaka -> Melb) was cheaper than the standard ticket price for a flight to get there.

Tempted to neg purely because I couldn't find a single ticket…

  • Who cares about one-way trips, how stupid is that. How many people are moving to Japan?? This is just annoying and frustrating, just give us a reasonable two way trip, and make it easy to book.

  • I tried a few random dates flying out at the end of Oct, then returning early Dec but the cheapest was $469 one way. This is pretty much a fail compared to the times they had $198 one way sales.

  • Good deal, but it looks pretty booked out to me. I couldn't find a date where it actually offers $199 :(

  • i thought similiar deal goes on every 2-3 months. But in price wise, nothing exciting, unless it is a 2 to 1 deal or price around $200 from SYD to Osaka.

the only good thing is the period is from OCT to 8 DEC, rather than buying tickets for 3,4 months ahead and planning a holiday for next year, coz things might happen in between and you are not able to vary the dates, or at a significant price.

  • Booked flights during the last sale and looks like the flights on the same day are $200-$300 higher than last time.

  • these are no good unless its return. to much hassle to find a flight back at a good price. I do not trust jetstar anyway and would never fly overseas with em.

  • Meh not a bargain, I flew with this guys GC->TY for $400 return Nov last year.

  • For the unlucky of us that are not in Melbourne, Cairns or the Gold Coast. Going thru transfers at the Gold Coast can be one of the most painful experiences ever. If you are ok with re-checking in and waiting the price is good. For me I'll look for straight thru flights.

  • agree with comments above.

    Summary:
*it's not best deal. Wait for 2 for 1 sale, which is $100-200 cheaper.
*These seats are probably left over to be cleared and connection flights (domestic) are bad.
*If you are ready to wait for long at tiny GC or Cairns airport for 3-4 hours connection, then don't forget your entertainment gadget as you will be bored to death.

I don't really appreciate Jetstar's international routing policy. Especially Japan flights between major cities are via small towns (eg. via Gold Coast, Cairns etc). Gold coast/Cairns to Japan flights are fine but keep direct international flights between major cities. It's not convenient to many. International connection at these local airports are pain as they do security/baggage check twice.

Oh, they fly following flights in a same way as well.
    Osaka and Singapore (via Taiwan)
Sydney and Singapore (via Darwin) - return flight is really bad and should be avoided by all means. (if they are trying to protect Qantas Syd-SIN flight, then it's a wrong decision.)

I will wait for 2 for 1 sale.

  • PLUS u need to watch out or prepare to alter your itinerary.
last december i flied to Osaka with Jetstar, 4-5 weeks piror my flight, jetstar sent me an email saying that the flight will be adding an extra stop in Tokyo before Osaka, which cause 2 hours delay. I can only choose to accept it or refund, lucikly i havent book for any hotel which have limited check-in time.

my flight suppose to land in Osaka at around 7pm, ended up 1 hr delay in Sydney, extra 1 hr delay in GC, so my itinerary on that day is 9am boarding (took 1 hr to board for an unannouced reason = delay) in sydney airport and finally arrive osaka at 23:50pm, which equvalent to 17 - 18 hr travelling time.
that means 50% of standard price = doubled travel time.

  • Hey i searched all the sydney routes for all the dates and there are no more $199 deals.

Just wait for 2 for 1 deal to thailand !!

  • This is a scam. Couldn't find any date at the sale price for Melb to Tokyo.
