  • The question now is
Is $46 and the lack of LED and 3 year warranty worth the extra 1"? (Refference the Dell deal)

    • Would be a valid question, if it wasn't sold out. =P

      • oh but it isn't (82 left to be more precise, at time of this comment)
        http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/32284

the sold out one would've been $56 cheaper :P

        • Ah, I didn't see that one, only the sold out one. I stand corrected! Just noticed it's submitted by you as well, ahah.

There are notable differences between the two though, not just the lack of LED and bigger screen size. The E series of Benq monitors specialise more on connectivity, so it has 2x HDMI inputs allowing you to have multiple connections without needing an adapter or anything like that. It also has speakers, line out and USB port. Last of all, it's VESA mountable where the Dell isn't.

So it's not really a matter of, this monitor is more expensive and lacks LED, but more which monitor would suit you better.

Personally, if you need a monitor with these features and from a reliable brand, it still sounds like a decent deal.

Really? Seems to be going strong.

    • I prefer Dell for sure, Trance :)

  • i think a while ago a lot of the Acer 24 inch were going for under 199 with the cashback. so why exactly is this one better?

    • Not really sure what type of monitor that Acer is, but like I said above, you should only view this deal if you were interested in the type of features this monitor has to offer. I did my research and there seemed to be lots of positive feedback with regards to this model.

  • Too bad it's not as good of a deal as the last one posted by 9289

Last year they sold this exact monitor for $200. Now that was a great deal

    • different monitor, that was the g (gaming) model and this is the e (entertainment).

      • Thanks tomsco I didn't notice that.

  • im guessing that this is more suitable for a home theatre setup where the monitor is going to be used between a computer and a game console/set top box.

    • -1

it's not worth extra bucks though

      • How is it not? (I wasn't the one who downranked you, BTW)

The average price of a G2420HD is $210~220

This is basically a G2420HD with 2 HDMI ports and a built in 4 port USB Hub.
That's basically 2 external gadgets you don't already need to buy and it's convenient to have it in one device.

However it's not a massive bargain by Ozbargain standards.

  • Brilliant monitor, have one myself.
And its great for ps3 and 360 as well (use it on and off with the PC)

  • msy.com.au have it for 240?

    • +1

This has free shipping. Since MSY is cheaper you can consider it $5 shipped to your door?

  • Fantasic Monitor In my opinion I ordered the G2420HD and recieved one of these instead :) now Id love another matching one!
