    Is the site getting OzBargained?

    • yes

  • +12

I don't even know what a shop monk is but it's my new favourite thing

  • +5

I cant even fit all my songs into 16 gb :(

    • Was about to comment the same thing. 16gb is much nowadays.

    • Free streaming with Telstra on apple music or Free pass until 2020 on Groove music app

      • +1

Or unmetered Spotify, Google Play Music or iHeartRadio on Optus. Annoying how Apple won't open up Siri to allow voice control of third party music apps, though.

        • -7

Why would I pay for any of those when I get 6 months free subscription plus 20% off itunes.

        • +1

@Jimmy007: umm Maybe he was trying to be helpful by listing all the other free steaming apps for anyone whos interested

        • -1

@GossipGoat: I get it :) but it's still cheaper to use 20% off Itunes with student membership than any other app. May be they are cheaper on other phones.

        • @Jimmy007: good luck finding anything cheaper than Spotify

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/279292

        • For how long?

        • @Jimmy007: been on it for 8 months so far

    • wow mp3s (or whatever they are now). so noughties.

I thought everyone streamed music these days.

more of an issue for me for photo storage..

      • U dont know about Google photos? Free unlimited storage and auto backup. Give it a try

    • -1

What were you expecting at that price?

    • You’ll want to turn all the iCloud options on for this phone.

    • -1

Pity the phone didn't have an expandable storage slot for a Micro SD card. Like a lot of Android phones do have.

  • +2

perfect for the parents, its brand new too?

    Thanks OP

    • +2

      yes brand new

    • +2

If its just for the parents, the 5C at $199 may be considering.
Screen size is a lot smaller, but so is the purchase price.

      https://shopmonk.com.au/apple-iphone-5c-4g?storage=335&color…

      • +4

Even though it's for parents only, I would advise against going with the 5C since Apple has ended support of it and is killing of 32-bit iOS apps.

        • +1

Good point, 5C just missed out on 64-bit architecture.

    • perfect for parents with poor eyesight!

      • -3

Any phone will do in that case.

        • nah need the plus. set text to large and zoomed mode. plus helps with dads stubby fingers

    • +1

      get iphone se for 399

    • +1

I disagree. U need as much storage for parents IMO. For ex, my parents are not good with tech in general so whenever they have to do something, they always feel stressed and asks for help even if it's something as simple as clearing free space.

Give them a phone with 100+GB storage so they dont even have to think about it.

  • +1

Just looking at the this now, for a mate.

The site is also showing the phone in Rose Gold, for $459; didn't think they made the 6 Plus in rose gold??

Edit. The photo of the rose gold does show an S on the back…

    • … iPhone 6S Plus sold as an iPhone 6 Plus? BARGAIN!

      • they fixed it

    • Looks like they have pulled it?
      Can't see it

  • +1

Has anyone received an item from shopmonk since these deals started appearing on ozbargain about their 'site re-lauch'?

  • +3

Not a good idea to buy a 16G iPhone IMHO.

    • -2

Not a good idea to buy a iPhone at all IMHO :P

    • Depends on how you use it. For some people it would be adequate.

  • any 6S Plus?

  • Thanks OP saved me $18.
I had the same phone added to cart on their ebay store and was waiting for the 20% off to kick in this afternoon.
Now i can get it done and for less!

    • yeah cos their ebay listing is still more expensive even after discount!

  • +1

are these cameras any good for a $400+ phone?
Camera:Main camera: 8 MP iSight camera,
    Front-facing camera: 1.2 MP FaceTime

64gb for $599 is steep but better buy if you have to get an iStuff

  • What's the warranty like?

      • Cheers. Was just gonna edit my post. Thanks. Good gift for the missus bday. Upgrade hers from 5s

        • Has she got big hands? Some ladies don't like them big.

      • if these come with receipt showing an ABN, would be a two year warranty

        • +1

Doubt they do? Great if they did I can claim TRS as well!

        • oops… forgot a ? at the end

        • @HeXa
I doubt that would be the case as the phones have not been distributed by Apple AU.

      • +3

        iPhone warranty is not international:
        https://www.apple.com/legal/warranty/products/ios-warranty-r…

IMPORTANT RESTRICTION FOR iPHONE, iPAD AND APPLE TV SERVICE.

Apple may restrict warranty service for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV to the country where Apple or its Authorized Distributors originally sold the device.

It is misleading for Shopmonk to claim the warranty is international.

  • Their Website is much cheaper than their ebay page of course! scumbags

    • +2

Probably because of all the fees they would pay on eBay.

      • Fees of 20% sounds legit! more like they are selling it for around the same price after 20% off.

  • +1

    16GB is pretty abysmal.

    • Yep. 100s for sale verywhere. Total piece of CRAP for several reasons.

  • Its perfect for parents with failing eyesight and that only use facebook and one or 2 other apps. Great price. Ordered.

    • Disagree totally. The small balance of the 16GB left for the user fills up in no time flat. If you are using facebook this phone is DOOMED!

      • You don't know my old man.. Facebook and eBay. That's it!

  • +1

Tempting to get this and leave it connected to my Mavic Pro

    • +1

You read my mind! Android phones are not stable for drones. Many accidents occurred because of the unstable connection. I want a iPhone with a bigger screen to do exactly one job, that is to be the phone connected to the controller.

    • Was thinking the exact same thing but since having otg and Android..it's been ok

  • Going overseas in end of October… will I be able to claim TRS?

  • and with soldering tool you can upgrade this to 128G with tones of risk !

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5WDDZqhn2s

    • +1

      This would also void warranty.

      • +2

        Then wait the warranty expired…

        • +1

          Fair enough

    • so simple, can't believe i've not done this yet.

  • +1

    Hope 9.3.5 64bit jailbreak.

  • Solid deal! My employer-issued iPhone 6 had to be swapped-out for a replacement due to a clapped-out/thrashed battery. Apple Australia charges almost this much for a refurb 6 (not even a 6S).

  • The iPhone 6 /16GB is Apple's biggest joke on the world.
Anyone who had an iphone 5 /16GB knows this all too well.
There are 100s of used iphone 6 / 16GB for sale.
Thats because these people have quickly found they are useless and cant wait to get rid of them

    • +4

      Please do elaborate.

      • +2

Probably because 16GB is quickly chewed up with music, photos and apps.

Really is a joke of a capacity unless you only want it for streaming, browsing, and you know, a phone.

        • +2

Also, the iPhone 5 and 6 are much slower than their successors, the 5s and the 6s/SE.

I'd much rather get an iPhone SE 32GB for around the same price or cheaper.

        • +2

Oh noes I've been using my 16GB iPhone 6 for 3 years now. What am I doing wrong? I've still got 2GB free space, and frequently storing offline content in Google Play Music, Plex, Netflix.

Interesting side note - I replaced my 3 year old battery recently, and the phone had been running very slowly (assumed it was planned obsolescence, iPhone 8 is coming). To my surprise the battery replacement actually increased the performance of the phone, significantly. Our resident Mr Robot at work informs me that modern CPUs get throttled with low voltage - I found this hard to believe, but well, here I am, happy as a larry again with my 16GB iPhone 6 back to full speed. Whoopie for me!

        • @muncan:

What are you doing wrong? EVERYTHING!

        • Why else would you want a phone?

Phone calls check, whatsapp check, weather check, YouTube check, navigation check, camera check, Spotify check, video camera check, Google drive check, apps check.

16gb is just fine for some of us who have almost everything on cloud and subscribe to streaming services. For the rest, splash the cash please.

        • @muncan:

My issue is paying north of $400 for a 16gb phone. It's a blatant rip. 32GB should be the minimum.

        • @rorymeister: Tell me about it, I paid $737.50 and its not a Plus. Since I refuse to pay the high markup for more storage, it'll always be the base model for muncan.
I was hoping to sell it and recoup much of the purchase price… and I would have gotten away with it too, if it wasnt for you pesky kids and your $429 new iPhone 6 Plus's.

  • It's back in stock.

  • Give us an s7 deal.

    • that's right Baebs

    • We do have S7 listed on our website. I am not sure if I can put the price here or not.

  • +2

    Need at least 32GB nowadays..

    • Yeah, that's why a phone with a Micro SD Card slot comes in handy, which unfortunately this phone does not have.

  • Can someone explain to me why this Iphone 6 has an A8 chip and not the A9 like the normal Iphone 6s advertised on Apple? I'm assuming its just built differently, hence why it's cheaper?

    • Because that is an S where as this is not an S.

      • +1

Wow my bad, how did I not notice that, I'm in my own little world at the moment Cvonc haha

  • Thanks OP!
    Great price. Ordered.
Hope it come with receipt showing an ABN, would be a two year warranty!

  • +1

    The invoice with NO ABN!

    • May I ask when did you order? Some people got the things quick. I oredered my SE on 3Sept but the status is still processing. :(

  • +1

    These are back in stock

  • Top deal for a phone that still works remarkably well.

  • Hmm, not sure if anybody would find 16GB too useful these days. Pre-installed OS uses up 2-3GB and most apps now use up too much space. Unless, of course, you buy the SanDisk or another generic brand Lightning usb storage drive.

Great to keep the kids occupied however…

  • Want G6 deal! Come on rep! Get some in stock and put her up. Guaranteed super sales.

  • thank you, pulled the trigger on 6 plus 64 geebee

  • Has anybody had theirs shipped yet ?
