This phone is compatible with the new Google HDR+ Modded camera application, so its main shortcoming, the camera, is now no longer an issue!

I believe their site also has the 32GB version for about $185 but I feel that is a massive price jump just for 16GB more storage and same RAM

        I was assuming it was in US dollars, I havn't ever seen it under $150US before. $135AU is a very good deal then, pitty it didn't last long.

      If your budget allows, why not go for a more expensive phone. But the 4x is a good way to say "I got all this for only (Insert price here)". I wanted to stay under $200.

      I'm still rocking with my Redmi note 2 running linage OS Battery life sucks so a portable charger is a must!

      Sticking with my Redmi note 2 for a few more months or years :p

          I believe it was a pricing error… someone confused the redmi note 4x with the redmi 4x.. would have been around that price. Anyway, lets hope that those who ordered score a deal.

          @xywolap: I have been thinking the same thing. I mistakenly bought a redmi 4x a couple of months ago thinking I was buying a redmi note 4x - by the time I realised it had already been dispatched and could not cancel the order.

          Even if you search for Xiaomi Redmi Note half the hits are for the non note version.

    Just got an email saying they miscounted the stock for the grey 16gb and can upgrade mine to 32gb for free.

        this is the better phone, i am upgrading from moto g5 plus to redmi note 4 with google hdr+ camera app and LineageOS custom rom
        i literally have both phones in front of me and the g5 plus is just hideous lol. although i do like its fron fingerprint, although rn4 has double tap to wake

          @paulaus: it doesnt work on omnivision sensors because xiaomi hasnt updated the drivers or something, there was a petition somewhere asking them for this

    My DHL tracked to Monday where it dropped it off to AusPost and wiped their hands clean of it.

    Arrived in my Parcel Locker today.

    I'm just pleased DHL appears to deliver to parcel lockers now!

    Time to fire her up and googlify it. I think i'll just go with the Googes now launcher.

    I wanna try and make it as nexusy as possible without rooting(if possible)

    I can't win a trick lately,I went to take the sim tray out and it wouldn't budge.After a lot of trying it finally came out ,the tin tray was bent stopping it coming out.Trouble is the hole is now a lot bigger and not sure how long before the edge breaks off at the hole. The tray is so flimsy I don't think I will buy a phone again with Sims on a tray. I wonder if the sim tray can be bought separately.
