        My guess is that it's a browser extension that refresh the page and notifies you if there's a difference. Great for product launches like phones

      The price went up not because of price jacking or to do with the ebay voucher. Myer had a sale and that ended midnight last night so the price you see today is the normal price.

        Exactly right, people shouldn't call price jacking considering that myer has weekend sales which end at midnight on Sunday.

          Don't bother, the mob will think what they want to think. I've tried to highlight this before but people here don't care.

          I used to work at Myer many years ago, they were pretty good with sale end dates - either it's a flash 3 or 5 day sale and they specify the end date on the instore tickets, or its a catalogue sale and the end date is on the catalogue. Either way, usually published and prices across channels usually consistent eg instore, online, eBay etc.

          People just don't get their heads around the concept of one promotion ending and another commencing. I dont see it as a problem if the promotion end date is publicised, but most of the mob here expect all the deals to stack. I remember it happened to TGG, when they did a "midnight sale" from 7pm to midnight, and had an eBay 20% off the next day - people then complained on ozb that the price increased from the previous night, look price jacking!!!!

          Every eBay deal, same predictable and generally unhelpful comments. Spend time looking thru the comments for some deals but get sidetracked with pages and pages of useless price jacking comments.

          This weekend, Myer has sales. As far as I can see, these promotions are reflected on their ebay site - e.g. 10% off Bose, so Bose Solo 5 now $359.10 and then another 20% off on ebay (RRP $399). If Myer was price jacking on ebay because of the 20% off, then there would be one price instore and online and a different (and higher) price on ebay that would be subject to a further 20% off. Maybe the mob will give Myer some credit now? Doubt it…

          There is no deceit. Myer's sale ended midnight last night that is why price is now back to normal. Even the prices on Myer's own website now back to original price.

          Because today I called Myer and spoke to the online department, got a very unsatisfactory response when I told them of the multiple price rises on items just 48hrs ago even when they weren't on sale before. They were price hikes above the normal prices, not Sale prices. Thus the Neg.

      So, it's really 5% off.

      Document these types of scams (deceptive consumer practices) and send to Choice and ACCC or create a consumer watchdog blog.
      Though, I'd say Myer's lawyers have been through this and stated though morally objectionable, not illegal as they are legally allowed to hike their price at their choosing.

      That would have been another sale to which the discount was already applied. Now that's ended which is why you see the price as $399.

    I know this is not related but hope someone can give me an answer regarding myer gift card:

    I bought a digital myer gift card a week ago, tried to reedeem last night but showed card number not valid.
    Checked the card status saying suspended, called customer service told they had no idea and could do nothing.

    Anyone had same experience? and how you had it solved?

    its no coincidence the before and after end midnight sale and after discount is about the same with the illusion of 20% discount when in fact the discount is negligible and sometimes even more expensive

    I find that sale time the price is better than the blanket % off. % off is better for items never discounted or if you need it NOW at full price. Otherwise always wait for sale, and even better when they have % off the SALE price.
