SeedHost.eu - 20% off New Shared Seedboxes - from €4 (~AU $5.99) Per Month for 250GiB Space/10Gpbs Connection/1TiB Traffic

190
ENDSUMMER2017

SeedHost.eu are offering 20% off their shared seedboxes until midnight 13 September (09:00 on the 14th AEST). Edit: Valid for new orders only, renewals or upgrades won't accept the coupon (see below). Discount applies to the first month.

I've had a couple of seedboxes with this company before and always found them to be excellent in stability, support, and ease-of-use. Because they're hosted in the Netherlands they can actually guarantee a 10Gbps connection to the Internet. (Kinda makes the NBN look a bit lame, eh?)

If you need to boost your ratio with your favourite torrent site then this is a great way to do it. No lock-in contract, cancel any time and use it 'til the end of the month you've paid for. Pro tip: their €5 seedboxes always sell out quickly and you end up having to wait for one. Spend a little bit extra and spring for the €7 box instead, it's actually worth the small amount more for the extra space and traffic anyway.

I've had a biggish seedbox through these guys for about two years. Top connection and peering (ie, since its leaseweb you actually build ratio unlike with cheapie french boxes), never had any downtime and they always fix up anything I break pretty quickly.

    Can't fault them at all

    doubleposts make baby jebus cry.

    • Are you running a plex server on it by any chance? Just wondering how they perform.

      • +1

No, I rsync anything I want back to my media server. Home connection is too flaky for fancy things like streaming or gaming or loading websites with images.

        • Thanks for the quick reply!

  • Tempted! I have always wanted a seed box

Just go for it. I was like you and spent a lot of time dithering whether to actually do it. Then I finally bought one and boosted my ratio by nearly 5Tb in one month. That's given me enough free downloadsfor ages!

      • Just loading up my laptop now, going straight for it! Thanks.

  • I use these guys, been very reliable and consistently fast! Tempted to upgrade and use the coupon but it's not working. Trying to contact support now. :P

    • I re-read the email I received from them and it says 'valid for new orders'. I've updated the post to reflect this, thanks for mentioning it.

      • Dammit :( That's unfortuante.

Valid for new orders and for the first month only.

Still a good deal for those wanting to get a seedbox. Personally got one a couple of weeks back it has boosted my ratio across a couple of sites.

Oh, 20% off for the first month only. That's a deal breaker.

I've had a box with these guys for about 24 months, no regrets in all that time, they're also pretty cool to deal with if you want or need anything extra set up on your box. I think I've got at least a 10:1 ratio on almost every site I frequent ;-)

  • Can someone explain to me the reason why people still into torrent the fact you might get into trouble in seeding stuff and you can get same stuff from us*net?

    • private trackers less likely to happen. thats why

      • Hm…with private tracker you need to have obligation to maintain its upload ratio, with usenet you don't have to, I still think it's better off with us***? Please proof that I'm wrong (serious question)

Ps: this stated the same too http://lifehacker.com/5897095/whats-a-private-bittorrent-tra…

        • If you think you can get 'the same stuff' from usenet, you are absolutely fooling yourself.

It's akin to saying that you shouldn't bother with Netflix because you can get everything on Channel 9.

    • Also, not all torrents are 'naughty'. There are a large number of bonafide torrent sites that deal with legal software.

  • 10:1? thats lame ;P

  • "Out of Stock" on the EU$5 boxes (at the moment)

  • Test file?

  • Fantastic provider. I am going on 3.5 years with Seedhost. They're always happy to accommodate requests and fast to answer tickets.

  • Anybody experiencing slow download speeds when FTPing your files from the seedbox? I'm using iiNet 25Mpbs NBN and tried to download from the seedbox but was only getting around 200 kilobytes per second.

    • +1

The first thing to test is whether you get slow FTP speeds from other locations, too. That would indicate an issue with your iiNet connection. I've known people around me with NBN who have really variable speeds depending on the protocol used and where they're connecting to. If you can confirm the bottleneck is at the remote end then open a ticket with their support team. They are really quite responsive.
