Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 13 (i5-6200u, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, GT940MX) US $622.34 (~AU $783.40) US $615.88 (~AU $775.27) US $610.76 (~AU $765.53) Delivered (Express)

About $20 less than the GearBest deal.

Price includes shipping via EMS Express Mail Service (US$2.18 & 7-15 business days).

As always pay in $US on both the site (as their AUD rate is weaker at ~AU $797) and Paypal (Select "View currency conversion options" under the exchange rate. Then select "Convert with card provider".). It means your bank will do the conversion instead of Paypal using weak rates, note your card may charge foreign transaction fee (and some still charge it for all overseas transactions regardless of currency).

Good price, hardly see that price on Ali or taobao.

I think Banggood's after sales customer service is not good enough to let us shop with confidence. Even after the customer service officer confirmed there is a problem in my tv box unit from the recent deal, they only offered me $10 partial refund or to wait indefinitely until hearing back from the manufacturer.
I don't think I can shop with confidence with this seller.

    Just for your references.

Yep, it's maliciously non-existent if anything.

Even if something is completely broken they'll offer a partial refund only.

Yes you can (and should) do a credit card chargeback, but you basically have to treat it as having no warranty from day 1 and ask yourself how much of a price discount you need to make that worthwhile.

I've had better success with Banggood vs GearBest, but they're probably all more or less equivalent. My Mi TV Box was faulty from GearBest, and shipped it back to get a PayPal dispute refund.

Same here. I find BG warranty much better than GB. I've had a few claims with both companies.

It is fair to say that none of mine have been as valuable as a PC though.

    • I would add - yes, BG often offer crap compensation for damaged or faulty products, but if you send a follow up email demanding a full refund etc. they're normally quite compliant.
prima facie it might seem like poor after sales service (and I guess it is a bit dog), but I've never had issues receiving full refunds for faulty products, damaged products, or products that never arrived, and they often throw in some BG points as an apology - you just need to a bit more patient and/or persistent.

  • I have purchased the 12" fanless version. Very happy with my new silent laptop. Keyboard is very good. Upgrading from the Dell XPS 13. I consider it better than the Dell.

Knock-off MacBook Air. Not really impressive.

    • Certainly is. Totally shameless. What did Kevin Rudd call them?

      Half the price but.

    • So are the S phones right?

    • To me it looks more like a cross in between the XPS13 and a Macbook Pro. Nothing like the Macbook Air.

The Air 2 is out… Holding out for sales. This one tends to get thermo capped guys :D

New one MX150 is not a bad card. With 7th Gen i5-7200U. NVMe disk speed aint too shabby either

I don't mind forwarding some of the new ones to buyers in Australia next time I'm in Shenzhen. PM me and I'll create a list of interested buyers. I won't be back to Shenzhen for another month or two. So no urgent buyers.

      • Very kind offer. Is the device any cheaper when bought locally in Shenzhen?

        • You do the maths. Go to the mi.com Chinese website. Please share your findings.

If you're looking for the $5000CNY one. Works out to be about $1000 after.

$5->$1 rule is okay in most cases

The markup here is about 30-50%. Gearbest markup about 30% at least is to cover shipping and stuff. They would make about 10-15% on top if they buy at peasent prices.

This clearance sale makes me believe they get about 10% bulk discount?

  • The price war is on, GB vs BG.

    • +1

Haha yeah it seems GB & BG are battling for deals today with the sales events.

I don't know when BG reduced it, I just checked to make sure the code hadn't expired and saw the price was less again.

      • Good for us they dumping stock together haha :)

  • air13i5 - "This coupon is not available for limited offer products". Price is fixed at $867.08 aud.

  • Managed to order this at the deal price, but it now shows as "back order" :(
