  • Does this work for used items? I go to buy and it wants me to click the 'commit to buy' button. Don't really want to click and find out it I miss out on 18% off

  • eBay / PayPal servers appear to be in a world of pain at the moment. Just tried to buy 6 different items from 4 different sellers in a single transacion, and everything was fine up until I clicked confirm in PayPal (correct discount shown etc etc), but now I've only got 2 items showing as paid for in PayPal, 2 items still sitting in the cart, and everything in limbo!!

    • Make sure they're all in the same currency too

      • Yep, all the same.

  • Am i able to buy different products from different sellers to be considered as one transaction ?

    • yes

  • I think eBay have change the Paypal checkout option for paying in USD, it is all embedded now instead of taking me to Paypal, so I can't switch it to USD and I am forced to use their crappy currency conversion prices, when I have both a citibank and 28 degrees which both I have used to avoid conversion by paying in USD.

I can only use the promo code while using Paypal, so now I am stuck. It's $26 in stupid conversion fees for a $645 transaction.

    • $26! Ridiculous!

    • +1

      There's a way to switch it ;)

      In the eBay checkout page:

      • Login to your Paypal account
      • Click 'change' under your payment details
      • It will show your options and 'exchange rate: XXXX'

Where it shows the rate, it will be highlighted blue. Click this and you can change the option.

I know, it's bullshit how hidden it is, but you just have to learn how

        Edit: I found the fix!

        https://www.pointhacks.com.au/how-to-change-credit-card-bill…

        or use this link: https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_profile-mercha…

Then choose: "Bill me in the currency listed on the seller's invoice."

Immediately, I logged into paypal again on eBay and now my 28 Degrees Mastercard doesn't have the line about conversion rates :D

I bought a DJI Phantom 3 Advanced in Original Box + 4 Batteries, ND Filter, 3-Way Charger & More —— for AUD$653 delivered next month from the USA… Winning!

I was so excited I forgot about Cashrewards, lol.

      • Nup doesn't work anymore you have to force the setting as @zan5hin showed.
Only shows the Paypal conversion rate. Such a sneaky move by Paypal.

Officework has it for 120 bucks.
Can somebody having this device share a bit of experience?
And i am not sure what size i should buy as well.. My wrist is like medium size
    Cheers

One thing to be aware is all fitbit products are only US centric in that they only operate in calories, not kilojoules. No idea why as it's a simple setting but they're stuck on calories only.

Doesn't bother some people, but if kj are of interest, good to be aware.

    • +1
      • Eddie could probably do with a Fitbit himself.

Opposite of price jacking happened to me. Seller reduced the price by $20 so I had to find something extra to reach the $75 mark.

I love ebay and cashrewards, saved like $200 on a microwave and washing machine.

Also is this the most upvoted deal ever or?

  • If I submit an offer and it's accepted, can I put this code at payment?

    • At Checkout

  • Interesting, had Dyson cleaning accessories kit in my 'Later' section for $46 inc postage. Can't add to basket, go look up the item and it's currently $99 plus postage.

I'm out, nothing to buy tonight.

  • Need monitor and speakers on budget, what do you recommend?

  • It seems as though there is a 2x use limit on this code :/ I fired on two purchases since there was only limited quantities left… and then when I went back to browse and see the less competitive stuff on my list, wherein by the time i got to the checkout, I received a "You already applied this code to an order." message when I tried to punch in the code at the Payment page :(

          http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-Sealed-Factory-Unlocked-APPLE…

        • @Tomaus62:

is there any retailer on ebay with an ABN for TRS refund you can find with an legit new phone

        • @smeng: that would be mobileciti but too expensive and not going overseas within the next 4 months or so.

        • @Tomaus62: I don't believe this phone is genuine.

        • @Sharp: Really? What makes you think that? about 50k feedback, sellers location is Sydney too.

        • @Tomaus62:

i think the guy is getting parts out of china and putting the phone together and selling it. thats why he/she can offer an phone with no finger sensor.

        • @smeng: yeah i agree with that one. How about this one?

          http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-Sealed-Factory-Unlocked-APPLE…

        • @Tomaus62: Seems not good seller.

        • +1

          @Tomaus62:

let me just tell you that i've personally seen iphones getting put together with bits and pieces in shanghai china and they have the box and wrapping machine there to seal it also. So i personally wouldn't buy ANY iphone out of china. i'm actually trying to find an replacement for my mums xiaomi which she complains it overheats

        • @smeng: if you call apple, they will be able to check the serial number and confirm if its genuine, right?

        • @Tomaus62:

but the thing tomaus62 is that its the internal parts that are not "new". people have broken phones all the time and these people just put bits and pieces together to make a new phone. At the back of the phone the serial number will always be a legit phone but the internals or externals maybe pulled from another iphone which was not out of the factory sealed is all im saying.

i was actually hoping for a deal also but its a no buy for me

        • @smeng: wow! didnt know that. thanks for the heads up. yeah, i will pass this time as well. The best deal for iphone6 was the one from target $404.

Thank you. Have been wanting a Canon 5D MkIV for a while now. Canon selling them for $4700. I got one using this for Just over $3100. Very happy

    • awesome deal and great camera i got mine from a 20% off deal earlier in the year for $4k. Youll be very happy at that price.

    • Oh sweet - I was going to grab one a month ago, but at the time cheapest I could find was around $3700 which is a bit more than I wanted to spend. Ended up getting a 5DSR instead for a bit under $2900. 5DIV is a killer camera though - you'll love it!

  • Just curious though what did everyone buy for 18%, I don't know what to buy…

    • +8

Lol? Anything on ebay mate. That's like asking "HELP. I have money in my bank account, what should I buy?"

    • I haven't bought anything, again.
I do want to buy 1 x PS4 game but I would need to find something else to hit the discount threshold first.

    • +1

I literally never have something to buy when eBay has 15%+ sitewide sales. The rare occasions I do have something to buy on eBay it's either no discount or some crappy 5% off coupon. FML.

    • +2

Joining the "nothing to buy" gang. :(

    • No shame in not buying anything.

The beauty of Ebay listings is that there are always bargains to be had.

However, right now, everybody is creaming off the cheapest items and if you purchase now then you are probably buying something near RRP minus the 20%.

I tend to buy things on Ebay as a newly listed Buy It Now when it is a true bargain., e.g. 50% off.

    • +1

I noticed some of the sellers actually bumped up the postage, yesterday was free, now is $10, I don't know if I should buy anything.

I need a backpack for school/work, but I can grab a cheap one from Reject Shop, no needs to go through Ebay….

      • Crumpler?

        • Yeah it maybe, its quite cheap, but fugly lul….

        • @Yaren24: and durable :)

Depends how much stuff your bringin though. Crumpler website still has some bags on sale.

Iconic,Myer and rushfaster also have sales in case you don't buy anything on eBay.

        • @harkoliar: Thanks mate, that bag was only $10 in Reject Shop, it's already cheap as it is lul. I don't have a lot to carry, just a water bottle, some papers, a lunch box and some fruit and bit of 1st aids stuff in the bag, 20L should be more than sufficient.

    • If you're a guy like me. You get something you reckon would be awesome for the next camping trip only to realise just how useless it is when you try using and it sits in your garage along with all the other " thought it ws a good idea at the time" purchases.

This time round its an airbed for me.

    • I want things but small things which means I'm not getting anywhere close to the minimum lol Few expensive things I want that I can buy on eBay but prefer to see in person before purchasing just in case.

  • +1

Pepperjack at Dan Murphys would have been great at around $12 a bottle but all gone

  • Picked up some Sparkling Shiraz instead - will be good for the warmer weather which is on its way

  • Only thing I wanted to buy was 512GB Razer Blade, from MS eBay store. They removed it today, before the code was active, however.
