Now That The eBay Sale Is over

As per the title, What did you end up buying, if anything at all.
I had to take myself away from my computer for the last few hours to help myself :/

So.. What did you pick up?

  • Sony 65" 4k Tv and a Robot Vacuum

Out of curiosity - who actually provides the discount?

    The retailer, ebay or paypal?

The reason I ask is that when I picked up my TV - the invoice shows for the full amount. Yet only the discounted amount has been debited from from my account.

    • Ebay/PayPal.

I sold some items during the sale after encouraging people to use the coupon. They received the discount, I received the full amount.

I am also utilizing a promo for no listing fees and no final valuation fees, so it appears ebay/PP are eating the cost to continue their push against Amazon.

Gotvha… just that some retailers have a price promise… so if something is advertised lower.. cash back!

So buy something for $2000… pay only $1640. 2 weeks later it is advertised for $1800…. get another $200 off under price promise :)

    A toaster.

Credit to MYER. Kept their current special in-store price on eBay, so the 18% came off that. Made it a great deal.

    • +1

yep, myer is not as bad as people try to say. They have some good deal in store and online.
Me, I have noticed Pac Fair staff a lot more helpful than a year ago, think they are make great improvements.

      • They are OK but with their Apple MacBook prices, they decided to jack them up at 5pm before sale started at 6pm. Office works kept them at the same price and restocked at 9:55pm, luckily I got one after missing out at 6:10pm.

  • I had hummed and harred over buying a bike from Bicyclesonline for ages now. Could have got it at the best possible price last night, but decided if I don't pull the trigger now, I never will at the full price later on. So, no new bike… Figured it just wasn't worth it right now. I'll probably regret it in 1-2 months though.

I had to buy a replacement part for my car, i found a good seller who had an excellent price of $340 last week, i was going to pull the trigger but i decided to pay some bills and wait a week.

When the 18% sale was announced i was pissed off because it said it didnt cover the cars section. However I thought id give it a go anyway, went to the listing and the seller was having a sale and already discounted the part by $99, then i got the extra 18% off that. ended up paying $196 for something i was more than happy to buy for $340 last week.

a bit of a win there

Not an amazing saving but I did finally pull the trigger on a Rocket Giotto Tipo V coffee machine. Saved $500 (on RRP) but this still brought it down to $2650 nonetheless, which is the cheapest I have ever seen it. Only other time it got close to this price was a few months ago when shops were clearing the older model for $2700 to make way for this one.

When I picked it up the lady at the shop said they were hit pretty hard with the sale.. one person bought a machine, then put another transaction through for a grinder. $1000 off sounds pretty good!

    • Ahhhh a coffee conneiseur . Good work. Still happy with my breville but you are living the dream friend.

  • I bought the Induction heating Tiger rice Cooker JKT-S10A 5.5 cup instead of the 10 cup. I never cook above 4 cups of rice anyway.
$529 + shipping cost —> $432 bucks around. my rice cooker died so Ive been waiting for a sale. I cant wait to use it!

  • The usual experience. Trying to look into the future and order a whole bunch of stuff for future projects. And the stuff I researched last time there was a code has either changed in price or disapeared completely.

    Wheelbarrow
    Refrigerant vacuum pump
    phone
    chinese cheapies
    carbon dioxide tank
Bulk items like ink or household chemicals

and then I go to pay, and its no, no, no. Mostly because of the difficulty in paying with paypal and picking up locally. So my cart went from 0, to 10, and finally back down to one. And then finally the one thing I did buy, a motorola G5+ from hamzas post, turns out to have been available for roughly the same price using the existing code.

Time spent: 4 hours. Saving over average: 0
    C'est la vie
