It seems to be the pattern now that everytime Jetstar holds a sale, Tigerair quickly follow suit.

I too don't understand the issue. Done Bris-Mel a bunch and never any issues.
yeah never had flights cancelled, but have had them delayed for several, which can be a PITA with kids. But if it worries you, then book with another airline.
For the 2016-2017 financial year Tigerair had a higher on-time performance than Jetstar and a lower cancellation rate than both Jetstar and Virgin.
But I think the point you are trying to make is that if the flight is cancelled with Tigerair, it may be more difficult to find a replacement flight.
consumers are sick of tiger. cancelled flights and usually only 2 or 3 a day out of capital cities. not good enough. I'd much rather pay more to travel with a more reliable airline.
