Yes I know it says Apple products are excluded, but others have actually tried it and apparently it works, confirmed like five times.

        • +1

Oh right, I was replying to phocus, not you.

@AustriaBargain: Ahhh I see it now. My bad, apologies for the misunderstanding and being downright rude. Cheers.

    Don't forget Myer One points!

    • Yes, about 360 Myer One points. Thanks.

  • -4

Good deal relative to normal price however the fact remains that you are giving $199 and receiving shite

    • +5

      I have AirPods and qc35, I prefer AirPod unless I am commuting….

      • +3

Same, QC is just too bulky. I even prefer Airpods for short domestic flights.

        • +3

Or you could use NC in ear earphones. Way superior in both sound quality and feel in the ear compared to the Airpods

    • +6

Let me guess - you haven't used them?

        • +2

They aren't shite….I thought I would never buy some but after borrowing a set I went straight out and bought them. Massively convenient, use them all the time and they are great for making calls too. Of course sound is better with other headsets but the convenience far outweighs the reduced sound quality….after a few minutes the difference isn't that noticeable.

        • +2

@slipperypete: they are brilliant. Maybe not for everybody. On a bus, at work, during a lunch break, just wearing one is great to make a call as opposed to having a phone in your hand. Again, not for everybody but I agree, podcasts and calls great. If you fly to LAX, you use Bose.

        • @econzune:
          Summed it up really well.

I think the people that disagree are more self conscious of how they look, are generally anti apple or think the sound isn't up to their standards and think they need audiophile quality sound even when on the bus!!

Yeah I sometimes feel silly wearing them but that soon wears off

    • +1

If they fit your ears they are meant to be great value. Samsung charge even more for their flagship wireless buds.

    • They aren't shite, you can use them to listen to music and stuff without those massive heavy 60cm cables. The only downside is you look silly and also the loss of sound quality compared to real earphones. I'm actually thinking about making the headlights in my car wireless now.

    • posting shite comment, try something new please, this is getting boring.

  • Remember the wireless charging ones are coming out soon. For me that's worth waiting .

    • +1

That’s just a case. AirPods earpiece itself won’t change.

    • No confirmation from Apple but a lot of people are saying it’s going to be an accessory you can purchase (ie doesn’t come as default)

      • Yep just Googled. As fair as I can tell Apple hasn't said for sure one way or the other. Seems logical they'd bundle them eventually, but who knows when.

        • +7

Seems logical they'd bundle them eventually

Woah slow down there, this is Apple we're talking about.

      • Pretty sure it’ll be bundled but you can also buy it seperatly to upgrade, at least via Apple. The current case can be had on its own if you walk in and say you lost it, so the same would apply. Costs a pretty penny to replace mind. Think a case alone is about $59USD which I assume would come to $80-$90AUD.

    +ve vote for the effort.

I am waiting for this deal to come back again to grab another pair.

    • Couldn’t wait. :)

    • +6

Trump waiting to grab another pair… not surprised.

  • +1

    Awesome wheeling and dealing!

  • +1

+1 just for sheer effort in the post on what to do with the spare $11!

  • +1

Is the total expense $190 instead of $199?

    • You're correct! Thanks. This inception dealing I lose time and my maths don't work right.

  • +2

Is anyone using Airpods with Android phones? I have bought these recently and there is a lot of "skipping". I am not sure if my airpods are faulty, whether they work much better with iPhones or whether others are also getting this.

    I have a Samsung s6.

  • +3

I just picked up a pair of Airpods today from JB Hifi. I went in asking if they could match the $209 deal from Myer and the sales assistant (who I did buy an iPhone 8 Plus on a plan from a couple of days ago) offered to check if she could do even better. $190! Great service from JB - and I'm now sitting hear LOVING the headphones!

    • +1

What exactly did you say to them to get them to match it? My try this tomorrow.

    • Awesome. Well done.

    • How did they possibly go below $209? I would've been surprised if they did $209 let alone $190! HOW?! Pls post receipt too.

  • If you include the 3% cash back from cashreward, then the out of pocket cost is $183!

  • +1

    Thanks got one.

  • Can I use multiple Myer gift cards together to buy the AirPods online? I have 1x $100 and 2x $50.

  • Bought them! I had a $70 Myer Gift Card I got through the points I collected through my credit card, so they ended costing only $129 for me :D

    • Nice god job!
