    The quality is always fantastic when you're watching through the OLED TV. The thing that stood out to me is the blacks in the OLED really shows and distinguishes those colours very very well. I love the OLED. One of the things I look forward to when I come home is actually being able to sit on the couch in front of my OLED TV.

      Do you watch cardoons?

      • +1

        Only in the summer - I'm generally away during the winter.

        • +2

          Can I borrow your TV in winter then?

          I'm not cheap, I'm an ozbargainer.

      Thanks Dave

  • Hey mate. Not sure if you can change the title, but it says QHD for the monitor instead of UHD like it does in your post and the actual item description.

    And thank you for the link to that monitor, that is a great price

      Done. 😄

  • Thoughts on extended warranty? I just purchased a 55 c7 at good guys for 2.8 with 5yr extended, planning to keep this tv for a while. Did I make a mistake??

    • +5

      You would expect a 2.8K TV to last at least 5 years and would be covered by consumer law anyway.

      • 5 years might be a stretch for Consumer Law…

        • +4

          For a $2.8K TV it wouldn't, that's a lot of money.

        • @Scab: Ok so no point with extended? How many years under consumer law? Also I'm guessing I won't be able to cancel that extended warranty by any chance?

        • +2

          @sdx91:

          Consumer law doesn't specify years, just that it should last a reasonable amount of time.

          Reasonable depends on the item and price, I would expect a $2.8K TV to last 5 years.

          Some extended warranties do offer extra things though so check your policy.

          And no, I doubt you can cancel it.

        • +1

          @Scab: I would expect a 2.8K TV to last 8 to 10 years. 1K TV for about 5 years.

        • @doodo477:

          I agree, I stated 5 years as that's what the extended warranty is.

        • @Scab:

          Reasonable depends on the item and price, I would expect a $2.8K TV to last 5 years.

          Sounds vague. Don't know how a court would rule on it. Reasonable would differ from person to person.

          I would expect a $60k car to last more than 3 years, but that is the standard warranty BMW is going to give you.

        • @lostn: Always eer on the long side with consumer law, the legal system has been quite generous with it…

        • @tomwood: Does it apply to cars also though?

        • +1

          @Scab: Consumer law covers my expectation of how long a device should operate. Don't need no stinking extended warranty that honestly isn't even worth it.

        I think legally warranty is only 12 months for tvs. Any longer and its manufacturer warranty and their terms.

        • +1

          Eh? The legal 'consumer guarantee' about acceptable quality (including durability) is what a reasonable consumer considers reasonable in the circumstances…

        • -1

          @MELso:

          Yeah you are right its manufacturers warranty that is 12 months. I know person who does warranty repair/collection. They are third party business that the major manufacturers outsource the warranty repair work. Most of the manufacturers use to have 3 years on tv but reduced it 12 months in recent years. Getting repair done under 'consumer law' outside of manufacturer warranty should be possible in ideal world but in reality you are pushing shit up a hill dealing with morons who know nothing in a out-sourced call centres. Although he did also tell me LG are the best by far to deal with for warranty repair on tvs. Says, Samsung and Sony are just a complete shambles.

        • +1

          @wanderlei:

          I've always had success stories with manufacturers warranting past 12 months (or whatever) under consumer protection. Once you make it known that you understand your rights, they always back down.

          I'm never rude about it. Consumer law and consumer douchebaggery shouldn't go hand in hand.

  • 55" seems to have stock again?

  • damn thats a good price for the monitor. Dreaming for that kind of price for a G-sync monitor

  • Basically you can now get this 65" for $3800 after 1% cashback from CR (work out to be around $39). Is it just me or is the cash back on eBay getting worse? Used to be 2.5%, then 1.3% then 1.25% now 1%. WTF. Not sure why Cash Rewards is even bothering anymore with eBay.

  • Hmmmm……this for $3839 or the Sony A1 OLED for $5053? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Sony-65-KD65A1-Ultra-HD-OLED-TV-/…

    I am more into Android TV though, but not sure if thats a must have for me anymore. The Sony is also a recent release so not sure if that means more up to date hardware which might result in better performance and picture quality? I wouldnt mind spending an extra $1K on the Sony if it would actually be better in the long run. Anyone have thoughts?

      I have an LG OLED and a Nvidia Shield (4k HDR AndroidTV) plugged into it.

      LG's WebOS is superior to AndroidTV in my opinion, better WAF, a lot of apps. Also the LG remote with a built in wand is very useful, also does voice recognition via the remote etc

      I still find AndroidTV a bit clunky, keep it around to run Kodi+Emby, don't use it as the daily driver.

      • Could you tell me please why Kodi+Emby but not just Android Emby?

        • +1

          I'm very used to the Kodi interface + it is customisable etc and has an amazing playback engine

          Found Emby layout too basic for me

          Cheers

    Considering looking into a C7, but wanted to know whether the price will be much better at boxing day sales?

    • Just by looking at this page https://www.ozbargain.com.au/product/lg-oled65c7t suggests that the price for the C7 is on its way down. I'd imagine by Christmas you could get this through an eBay sale around $3500.

      • +1

        The price has been going down, yes. But how would you know that it will 'continue' to go down?
        I think these discounts are in anticipation of Amazon's launch in Australia. People like Bing Lee have to get ready with competitive pricing before people can see Amazon's prices side by side to theirs.
        There is no guarantee that prices will 'continue' to go down.
        Prices here are the same as in the US Amazon website already. Unless Amazon have additional discounts when it launches in Australia, it's hard to see prices going down any further.

        • +1

          I'm probably the only one anticipating that Amazon is going to be one giant letdown. They're hailed as the messiah, but are they really going to give you discounts like the US store, undercutting all competition?

          Once you factor in Aussie wages and the classic "Aussie tax", I can't see them matching their US counterpart in price.

  • Is there a better 65" TV for under $4k? Or is 65C7T the go-to?

    • +1

      Depends on your preferences, but I'd say yes. Been helping my parents pick out a new TV lately and looking at what's around - I think the LG OLEDs are the pick of the bunch right now. The C7 has the same OLED panel as the higher-end models, they're awesome.

  • the 55" is no longer in stock before the sale starts.

    This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available.

    It was available few minutes ago. Even stock was available for pick up.

  • Postage is now $80!

    • And restricted to Sydney and Melbourne it seems…

  • Can't seem to add the code to the monitor, logged in, using code at checkout and getting error "This code can't be applied to your order." Unsure why but cant get it to work

    • Try again, it's working now.

  • Good price but no stock, why +vote? …
