why so cheap? whats wrong with i3? must be slow as dual core

    i3 is the new celeron.

    • Please check this i3 processor on Intel web site.

i3 is not the new Celeron.

Celerons are still actively produced and marketed today.

Current Intel processor line up in order of general performance:

      Atom > Celeron > Pentium > i3 > i5 > i7

    • I3 is much much better than Celeron. See the cache please for both.

  • Is there any HDMI out port?

This isn't a special price. Its been this price since the last MLN/Centrecom "war" over the G560 last month.

As for HDMI port, lenovo site seems to make it look like there is HDMI port:

Also I've yet to come across a core i laptop without a HDMI port. Just seems to come standard with every core i laptop.

As for core i3 processors being crap, read up on them first before you make comments like that.

Even the i3 330M running at 2.13ghz (the lowest) is as fast as the previous gen P8600's running at 2.4ghz. Only gets faster from there obviously.

This puts it above the P9600 @ 2.66ghz.

    Final digression:

How is it a bonus 2GB when you're paying $50 for it? Compare it with the one in this "bargain", model numbers identical except any reference to the RAM. Was brought up the last time this laptop was posted last month, and obviously Centrecom hasn't changed it.

    • As for core i3 processors being crap, read up on them first before you make comments like that.

Who and where does it say that?

There are plenty of Core i laptops without HDMI. Many of the Dell Latitudes don't have HDMI.

    • Who are you replying to Shadowsfury?

      • With the CPU reference? Gavman and Hirokuro (kind of). I had it different in my head.

        • Ah, makes sense now…it's just kinda hard to keep track in my head unless the replies are nested. I'm getting old, that's my excuse for everything! :p

I do agree though, Centrecom's free "bonuses" would be great, if you didn't have to pay for them! ;)

  • decent price,it's spec are slightly lower than acer aspire one from binglee two weeks ago

I dont think this is any special.

I recently got i5 processor, 4 gig ram, and 320m graphics (1 gb) for 750$.. Much better deal than this lol

    • +1

Maybe better for you, if you need the graphics and extra processor power. Not everyone needs that and are on a budget. No point paying for something (more than 35% extra) if you don't need it.
