Sony FE 35mm F2.8 Zeiss Lens $639 + $100 EFTPOS Card @ Ted's Cameras eBay

90
PREZZY

Sony FE 35mm F2.8 prime lens at a decent price when combines with the current ebay offer and Sony EFTPOS card promotion (works out to be $539). This is for full frame cameras such as the a7 and a9 (although it will also work on the cropped sensor camera like the a6000. Some say this is overpriced for a only 'f2.8' lens but I have this lens and must say the pictures are stunning for how compact it is. This lens is on my A7 most of the time and totally worth it ihmo.

Pleas note that the Sony EFTPOS card promotion T&C states that ebay sellers excluded. However, the Sony promotion has always honoured the purchase of goods from ebay stores provided that it is Aus stock and is from an ebay store of an authorised seller. Teds is on the list of authorised sellers hence why I am posting this. If you are not comfortable purchasing then thats ok - just posting for those who are.

  • very good, combine with travel TRS and you have a steal

    • The trifecta !!! Love it when the stars all align once in a while.

      • sorry I forgot to mention 1% ebay cashrewards. I'm ashamed of myself.

  • Eftpos promo does not work with Ted's ebay invoice. It mentions the sale

    • ???

      • I will try. let you know.

      • According to the comments here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/342174 TEDs may now be marking on their invoices when items are purchased via a sale on eBay. According to the T's & C's of the Sony promotion, these purchases are not eligible for the eftpos card cashback..

        • My invoice on a Sony 28mm f/2 from last week (using PREZZIE) mentions eBay

        • +1

@Thrawn: Yup that's what i just bought 2mins ago haha..

I will check anyways. I contacted Teds Camera, they said eligible. Now passing on this message to Sony….later.

        • Read the OPs post properly. Its ok if the invoce states ebay. As long as you buy Au stock from an authorised seller's ebay store, sony has honoured it.

        • @mooreshady: does the invoice mention 20%off? or it shows the RRP? thanks

        • +1

          @Bluberry:

fingerscrossing they do! Bought and now see what happens. Anyways Teds camera ebay 20% will be over tomorrow. So guys and gals, do your calculations too! I did mine and still find this is cheaper, even without the eftpos gift card promo.

        • Hey fellas I'll put your minds at ease, last time when Sony were running the same promotion I managed to claim the EFTPOS card even though I bought through the Ted Ebay store. The invoice even said it was via the Ted Ebay store.

The reason why they have that there is so you cannot buy it through an non-certified seller.

        • @Bluberry: I did read the OPs post properly. The OP uses past tense. "the Sony promotion has always honoured…."

Has Sony changed the T's & C's of the promotion?

Maybe they will honor it, maybe they won't..

        • +1

@NinjaChicken: The T&C are the same as last year as far as I can tell. I know because I agonised over the exact same issue last year and eventually went with it as the price was a bargin. Dont buy though if you are not happy.

        • @melcool:

          That shouldnt matter.

As long as it's genuine local stock from a participating seller (which Teds is) it is eligible for cashback.

Sony doesn't care how much you paid for the lens really.

        • I have received my Fujifilm lens today sadly teds do start showing eBay on their receipts. here is my receipt for reference.

        • @mooreshady: i was gona say camerapro is selling for $719 (= $619 after eftpost card), however after checking, it seems camerapro is not one of the sony authorised sellers. Anyone can confirm this too? I thought all australian reseller (with ABN & gst), sony would consider them as an authorised seller. If thats the case, then yea ted's price is the cheapest.

Worth mentioning if you were looking at this lens for an APS-C camera (Sony A6000, 6300, etc) the Sigma 30mm F1.4 DC DN Contemporary is a similar focal length, cheaper and some say a better lens..

    • +1

Sigma lens is a bit hit and miss depending on your copy. The sony 35 mm is stellar ..and no i don't work for Sony - just super impressed with this little thing.

      • I was fully set to buy the Sigma….now I need to do a little more reading. Thanks for that :)

I'll probably stick with my original choice - if only because it is a little wider for the APS-C format..

        • Have you looked into the 35mm E mount version for APS-C? Curios to hear any feedback

        • +4

Sigma 30mm f/1.4 is $350 from dcxpert with eBay 20% off. Far cheaper.. and its 2 stops better in aperture. For APS-C its a no-brainer

        • +1

Did some research, Sigma comes up with some great reviews. Thanks to yourself + Thrawn for the heads up with dcxpert. Bought one for my a6000.

        • @Thrawn: thats a great price - didnt realise the price droped that low. Nice!

    • +1

This lens is designed for FF. Someone after this lens should not get the Sigma 30/14 because that is a crop lens and is not compatible with FF.

  • it will be so good if we can combine the two offers (prezzy n eftpos card)!

    • +1

I'm combining all the offers. Prezzy, eftpos card, cashrewards, TRS and GST credit for business purposes :D

      • yea but provided that Sony will give you the eftpos card. Receipt shows 20% ebay, T&C from sony says NO EBAY… unless someone can confirm it still works (even with the receipt showing 20%).

        • Why would the receipt say 20% ebay? The discount is not provided by the retailer but by ebay so my receipt will be separate and issued by the retailer at the full price.

        • Also, it's a legal requirement to provide a tax invoice, eBay is only a market place/middle man. The invoice will need to be from the business selling to you. Since they receive the full price for the item you bought, they will need to show the full price on the invoice.

        • @points4life: Alright, whatever helps you sleep at night. Photo evidence has already been posted elsewhere.

        • @points4life: yea saw imranauz post above, his copy has got ebay written on it. Have you made a purchase? Does it says Ebay on your invoice?

        • +1

@YellowKnight: The receipt shows the full price. You are paying the full price when purchasing this. eBay is paying the 20%. Why do so many people not understand this?

        • @Orpheus: exactly!

        • @YellowKnight: Sure, I will provide photo evidence of my 2 X $200 gift cards soon (to help you sleep better at night). Ps. I'm buying from Ryda online as they are cheaper than Teds.

        • @gutenmuach: Sorry is should specify, got a bit side tracked on this deal. I bough a A6500 body + 16-70 lens. But also looking into this deal… last day.

        • @points4life: I purchased an a6300 from Ryda via eBay yesterday - to try my luck with this deal. However they have not emailed an invoice, all I have is the Paypal receipt with the discounted price from eBay. So unless they include an invoice / receipt in with the delivered product, I reckon I'm outta luck..

        • @NinjaChicken: They have to include an invoice or provide you one upon request. My purchase got send yesterday from Sydney and is now with a driver out for delivery in Perth. Very impressed with the service so far.

        • @points4life: Happy to report that my tax invoice is for the full amount with no mention of ebay (Ryda Online)
