This works out better for those without the Amex deal than the HN offering, thanks.

Which iPad is this? I haven’t had one since way back at the second generation.

Is this what was announced as the pro or whatever? Does it use the stylus pen?

    Thanks!

This is the most basic version released in April 2017, without cellular, the default original screen size (the Pro is bigger), and the smallest storage space available.

      • +6

It may be the most basic but it performs just as well as all the other iPads and shares the same processor and internals bar memory and the cellular gear on some models.

The Pros are a different model that most people do not need.

      • Cheers mate :)

    • This is the replacement for the iPad Air 2.

  • Thanks

How does the eGift Card descount work? Is there a link to it on OzBargain?

  • If i purchase using the gift cards, would i still be able to claim GST if I am going out of the country?

    • +1

      Yes

      • @D6C1 Thanks for confirming this

  • Why the recent iPad discounting? New model coming out?

is this worth replacing my "new ipad"? - released just after the ipad 2.

    • That’s what I’m looking to replace also. So slow these days.

If you have anything older than an iPad Air, then it’s worth it… especially with iOS 11. This 2017 base model has almost exactly the same size and shape as the iPad Air but with current gen internals and TouchID. Replaced my Air and found this to be worth the $400 price tag.

  • Thinking of replacing my iPad too(air2 128GB), hope there is a deal for 12.9 iPad Pro soon.

    • See if you can try a 12.9 before you buy. I absolutely hated mine. Much happier with the 10.5.

      • Is it because it is too heavy? I use iPad for amazon kindle a lot, think it could be a good idea to have a bigger screen for it and downloaded movies.

        • Yep way too heavy. I bought it for the larger workspace too (for drawing but also for movies and comics/iBooks/Kindle). I just found it way too cumbersome to the point that I stopped using it for ages. I ended up selling it off and getting a 10.5 and it's absolutely perfect.

@omgitzrick: thanks for your reply, I will keep it in mind.

  • Will the cellular model be on sale as well?

  • Where are the best places to get the 5% discount e-gift cards?

    • As mentioned in the comments just few lines above:

You can get them from a few places for 5% off like cash rewards https://www.cashrewards.com.au/woolworths-gift-cards

    • NRMA, RACV, RACQ does them at 5% off as well if you are a member. I only use cashrewards if they are offering more than 5% which they haven't done in a while.

      • I am a little lost with this process.

Does HN accept Woolowrths gift cards or are you purchasing a HN Gift Card from Woolworths?

  • +4

yes, but better way is you can buy myer giftcard using discounted wish egiftcard before this wednesday, and get 10% woolworths pt as bonus, then price match @myer, you get $40 points

    • Love it (provided you can buy the myer gift cards using wish cards, sometimes you cant buy gift cards with gift cards)

Should work with the Ultimate for Teens Gift Cards at JB HIFI as well, might go down this path. Net cost of about $338 is pretty good.

      • Thanks for the tip. Bought $400 worth of wish egift cards for $380. Used them to buy 8 x $50 Teens Gifts cards at Woolworths ($40 cashback through Woolworths rewards). Went to JB Hifi asked for price match to Harvey Norman, he said sure no problem. Then asked would you like a free telstra 15GB sim card as well, yeah sure why not! $338 total.

        • $40 cashback still on offer? can't find the deal anywhere. Do I have to activate offer on woolworths rewards?

        • +1

          @sal78:

No just make sure you scan your rewards card. Here’s the deal.

  • Is this online or only in store?

    • +1

      Both

  • How will this go down with claiming TRS?
What will the receipt show? Paid by Gift Cards? Do customs accept such receipts?
    Has anyone gone through this?
PS: Do you have to take the box to TRS counter?

    • +1

Yes, gift cards OK as long as you have original tax invoice. I've done it myself with Myer gift cards (at Myer of course).

Don't need to take the box, just the iPad itself.

      • Thanks, much appreciated

  • I can't see the teen gift cards anywhere. Does anyone have a link?

    • You have to buy in store to use egift wish card and get 5% off in addition to the $40 cashback. I just used self checkout.

  • Can I use a $50 egift wish card, and pay the rest, with a credit card to receive the 5% discount or do I have to purchase $400 worth of gifts cards
    Thanks

    • you can use the credit card but no 5% discount unless you use the credit card to buy wish cards through cashrewards, entertainment book etc.

  • Someone already asked/answer this question but I just want another confirmation if possible. Can this deal be purchased online and use Woolworths evoucher code ? Also. Where's the source of this deal? apply to BigW stores in Sydney?

  • I found the answer to one of the question above. The deal is in the current BigW online catalogue on page 44.
