It's a shame Sony lenses cost a bomb.

    • Yeh. I went fuji after weeks of going back and forth. Their lenses all seem to be decent and well priced. They don't need to market a ff line up though.

      • Correct me if I'm wrong , don't think Fuji has full frame mirror less ? Having said they have the medium format though which cost an arm and leg

        • They don't. APS-C and medium format.

        • Yeh that's what I meant when I said fuji don't have the trouble of spending more money and time marketing their FF line so their best lenses all go to their Aps-c lineup. Where as Sony have to make sure their FF lineup is stellar to justify the price so the crop lenses tend to be an afterthought somewhat.

        • Hi Demoiree,

slightly off topic, can I ask you a few questions about your Hassio setup.

          You don't have PM enabled.

          Thanks

      • Good choice! Fuji lenses are the bomb.

  • What does everyone think I can sell a Canon 5D Mark II on the open market for to get this?

    • +1

      5Dii is a dinosaur compared to a6500…

      • I get that it's a dinosaur but it never really answered the question.

54 eneloops and a voucher for a night and a day at Mimy's House of Pain

  • Damn… if that Amex Deal was still valid, I would have bought this in a heartbeat, as an early Christmas present :( The prospect of effectively getting an a6500 for $1249, and missing the deal, is too much to entertain :'(

    • Where are you getting a $1249 price?

    • What for a extra 50 bucks your going to missing this? You will not get 15% off Sony until this time next year mate.

  • I have 2 amex card. Could you tell me how to 'split the transaction'?
On line or at the store?
    Thanks

    • In store only ,don't think the online site allow you to split

According to staticie, T-dimension is cheaper:
    https://www.t-dimension.com/au/top-cameras-photo-video/top-m…

However I never heard of T-Dimesnsion. Any comment?

      Grey stock though

    • Ordered before, no problem.

    • +1

Only $100 cheaper for no 2 year Australian warranty? Definitely not a bargain. You'll have problems later down the track and be stuck with a brick.

      • Agree , Australian warranty is a must for camera bodies , for lens then I might just buy grey stock

  • +1

    still expensive as f.

    • +1

No it really isn't. Unless you're eating bread and butter for every meal. Then it is. Then it is very expensive.

  • Incredible price. Nice one!

  • Is this a huge improvement over the 6300? or is it just because its a good price

    • IBIS and the focus is why I choose this over the 6300

  • Too expensive, I'm still using the Nex-6 from this old deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/138186

Even the A6000 has no major picture quality improvement over Nex-6.

Maybe this A6500 only has 4k over A6000? and other small gimmicks that no one bothered to use.

  • So after a couple of days at looking at the comments can someone summarise for me whether this is a good value for money deal or if I should wait just that bit longer? I got a Canon G7X II just a year ago.

  • Anyone who ordered got their tracking number to work yet?
