      a car charger?!

  • +10

nice, now I just need a car deal

  • +7

Confirmed not to be 2A, tested it myself.

    • +5

did you test port 2? The top port is labeled 1A

      • It might be 2A combined, 1A each port.

      • Yes. Port 2 only delivered 1A before voltage plummeted

    • I can also confirm. Tested both ports loaded with ammeter. Have not seen above 0.7 amps total from either port. Have also seen voltage drop to around 4.8 volts under load. Would only recommend using for low current devices and one port at a time. It worked fine for my GW1.

      • Correct. I can only pull 1A from either port before voltage drops below USB spec.

      • Damn so a waste of 80cents? Myself and my partner bought one each for our cars as we needed double chargers for both our phones. This won't even charge one, will it?

        • 1A will do, but when they say '2.1A' on one of the ports it's very frustrating.

        • +1

@upsidedownlemon: I have 2 of them. They get super hot. Used to take a while to charge, now charges for a few seconds then cut out, repeats. The result is it wakes up the screen and actually drains the battery faster than it charges. Both bin jobs. Also, not recognised/ wont charge a Samsung or iPhone. Guessing they have set voltage/ current requirements.

Anyone recommend a decent version of this?

        • @tunzafun001:

I have the same issue as well, won't charge as fast or not at all.

        • @Kamsi: I'll try and cancel the order

        • @subywagon:

Same, cancelling this due to poor reviews

"Coupon code limit has been reached."

    • +1

Nope, used the wrong coupon, FREE1126ALL01 still works

  • +4

didn't need one but bought one anyway, let's see if it arrives before 2018?

  • +1

This would be great for the GW1-CB Dashcam in conjunction with a long usb mini cable but unfortunately it only takes 500ma.

    • +1

GW1 will work fine with this…

    • +2

That means you need a minimum 500ma. So any port with greater current than that will be fine.

      • Tested mine with a 1.5A and a 1A and it refuses to come on upon ignition. Using the CB version though.. 500ma and it comes on for me. Maybe I got a bad one

        • +2

500mA is the draw, it will only ever draw the A it needs. If your Cam needed 3A and the socket supported 500mA, then it would draw too many A, and melt/burn out the socket.

Not sure why it wont turn on for you using a higher amped plug but that's strange as that's not how electricity works :S

        • @smpantsonfire: I dunno, I really did test it too. I'll try it with a diff type and see how it goes then. Mighta been a faulty plug

I spent 15 minutes trying to get one on a Samsung S5 6.0.1, kept getting incorrect logins, couldn't expand captcha and couldn't read it, then paypal says samsung insternet browswer is out of date (Play store disagrees) and to use Chrome or Firefox etc. Went onto desktop login password was correct etc. Anyone else having trouble on an android? Thanks

    • Nope. No prob at all

      • +1

K thanks. I got Irish greamins again

    • I spent 20 minutes trying to order it, kept trying to log in unsuccessfully but in the end it worked.

  • +1

who has a cigarette lighter in the car nowadays anyway?

    • +2

Ozbargainers who still drive their 20 year old car

    • Me and my work car.

    • Many cars just have the socket for 12V power.

  • -2

Postage is $1.10 - so not 0.39 delivered.

    • +1

Still works $0.39 AUD delivered are you logged in and using this code FREE1126ALL01?

  • Thanks just got it $0.41 AUD delivered, payed through paypal

    • It's so so sad that I have bought like 5 of these at $0.41 AUD. I have just wasted 10 cents :/

(Well technically I've wasted like $2.45 but you get my gist).

  • +1

Do you trust your phones with this thing though?

    • +3

      Safe-to-Use
Built-in anti-electromagnetic interference filter and IC control protection circuit, safe and durable to use.

Everyone trusts it because a Chinese shop says its safe

  • Thanks OP. Still works. How long is the delivery usually?

    • About 3 months.

Nah kidding, it's only about 14-45 days.

  • Cost me $0.41!
Shipping time is anywhere from 7-45 days haha!
    Still a good deal tho.

    • You got ripped off. I've done this a few times myself

  • The power delivery doesn't inspire confidence in Zapals products

  • +1

Why do Zapals and GB keep giving away free stuff? Are they afraid of Amazon?

  • negged due to not delivering 2A

  • Was just about to buy it until i read the comments…

  • Used 2-3 times, now won't even light up.
