For those who didn't get a chance to get the last $1 domain deal, here is your chance. Register any new domain (e.g. bringbackthenegs.com) with godaddy.com for just $1 for 1 year (plus $.18 ICANN fee). Buy any domain (ignoring any other promotions on site) and enter the coupon code: GOBBLE. Expiring after 10,000 redemptions or on December 15, 2010 (whichever comes first).

Note: Not valid on renewals, if you want a renewal, try code: OK412, $7.49USD/$7.56AUD. 1 per account. Normal price for domains is usually around $8USD ($9.61AUD). No need to purchase hosting or anything else with them. Just the domain. I've personally registered multiple domains for years with Godaddy with no problems. Applies to the first year only of new or transfer registrations.

This offer may not be used for renewals, bulk registrations, premium domains or Sunrise/Landrush domain registrations. Limited to one order per customer. Discount will be reflected in your shopping cart; cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or promotion. Customers may not use gift cards, PayPal® or AliPay to redeem this offer.

Valid for .COM, .US, .MOBI, .BIZ, .NET, .ORG, .CA, .CO.UK and .IN domain

Notes from the last deals:
It's easy to transfer your domain to another registrar.
They will auto renew your domain, so you can uncheck this if you don't want it. They remind you 90 days and 4 days before they auto-renew your domain.
Can't pay with Paypal.
Does not come with private whois, that costs $12USD extra.
Additional codes can be found at Retailmenot

    cool.

just picked up a great domain name -which I'll never use.

this internet fad is great, I wonder how long it will last?

  • Does anyone know if there is an expiry date??

    • expiring after 10,000 redemptions or on December 15, 2010 (whichever comes first).

It's always 10,000 redemptions though. I would guess by tomorrow or so it should be expired.

  • whats the cheapest .com.au you can get out there?

  • Got one!

    thanks

  • What do the hot chicks have to do with domain names…

    • +1

They cause them to get sold

  • Just don't use GoDaddy for anything important.

Be careful, their business practices might be dodgy, and you might lose your domain when they sell it to someone else - check out nodaddy.com

  • Sweet, now where to get some cheap hosting?

  • Before one of my friends friend took a domain from an offer from godaddy, and the next year they charged a huge amount for renewing it. He tried to move to a new provider same..

    • ?? It's only $12 or so at regular price but in the 6 or so years I've been with them I've usually been able to find a coupon to get it around ~$8/yr.

      In USD:
      2010 Renewal: $8.41
      2009: $7.67
      2008: 5 yrs locked in at $7.15/yr
      2007: $8.20
      2006: 2 yrs locked at $7.44
      2006: $8.20
      2005: $8.20

  • Got one. Thanks.

  • excuse my ignorance, but what is needed to get a website on the net? A domain name, a host…anything else?

    • That's it.

      • anyone on ozbargain recommend a host? i want to start a website with very little traffic

        • I've been using Crucial Paradigm for a few years. Ozbargain is now hosted on there as well. Or just wait for one of the hosts to post one of their cheapo deals here.

  • Thankyou for the renew code, I have to renew one next week so that will come in handy!

Guys I just wanted to let you know that this may have expired… HOWEVER…

I thought to myself, I wonder what GoDaddy would do if I emptied my cart and looked for the same domain again. I did exactly that and wow haha… I received a "special offer" (it flashed up at the top of the screen). The offer was for a USD 1.01 domain (just 1¢ dearer than this deal) + ICANN fee.

So, if the deal doesn't work for you, empty your cart, and wait to be rewarded as you hunt around the site (just search for the same domain you were after).

    • Actually, I don't know what happened, but the deal seems to be there still.

  • Using this code now simply adds a 2 month free trial of "WebSite Tonight Economy - 5 Page Web Site - Monthly (recurring)" and no discount.

But YesPleaseThankYou's tricked worked. Thanks mate!

EDIT: ah, I think I spoke too soon. It isn't applying the discount in my checkout. I think if you've already used this deal then you won't get the $1.01 one.

OK, the deal is, the $1.01 is just the AUD price for US$1.00 and it's the same deal, so you can't register a 2nd $1 domain name if you've already registered one using GOBBLE.

    • where does the code go??i cant see it anywhere

      • It doesn't. The popup says that it is automatically added at the checkout. It didn't work for me since I've already used GOBBLE, so I can't help much unfortunately.

  • For those looking for hosting, Crucial is giving away 250 free hosting accounts, http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/34854

  • damn too late now. already finished
