Ansell Hyflex Multi Purpose Gloves $3.75 @ Bunnings Warehouse

1220

Hi everyone,

I went to get some of my regular work gloves from bunnings and they scanned at $3.75 each instead of the $9.98listed. These are great work gloves, very durable while still having good sensitivity for fiddly tasks. This was at the Heatherton store in Victoria, I'm not sure if it's unique to this store or not.

Medium and large available at the same price.

My dog loves rubberised gloves, he'll stand for hours while I pat him with them on.

Great for his coat too, removes dead hair and puts a gloss on it.

      Is this an euphemism?

      • +5

No, they're great for grooming, the rubber removes loose fur and makes it really shiny.

        Red 🚀?

      • Man I mean this was funny to begin with but then I started thinking about the hair removal & gloss.. wow.

Bit of trivia, but the EN388 rating gives you Abrasion, Cut, Tear and Puncture resistance ratings at a glance to see how suitable they are for your task.

    http://www.guide.eu/en/info/EN/en388.html

    • Useful trivia, thanks for that.

      • +3

These are 4231, so good abrasion resistance and reasonable tear resistance.

      • Useful trivia.

        Misnomer?

        • Not necessarily because it is trivia. A misnomer cannot be a misconception.

        • @MrSammyMcG:
          Huh,
If its trivia, it's not really useful. And vice versa.

Anyway, was just a light-hearted chuckle.

        • @YogaPants: fair enough

Ansell make gloves for the military and all sorts. They’re pricey but the heavy labourers are a really nice glove, but this does seem like a damn nice deal. Thanks OP.

  • Take these with you and you'll never be alone.
OTOH, anyone used these with washing dishes. Sick of the scam gloves that rips off the sniff of a knife

    • I haven't looked at the specs but if they're anything like our lowest grade of work gloves (higher than these), they'd be fairly useless. They absorb water pretty bad, and end up giving you soggy hands. After getting them wet, you end up having to replace them pretty soon after.

For reference, ours have to be a minimum level of cut 5 (cat 2 I believe), and they are the thinnest for that category so we can still have some feeling. I don't have a pair handy to reference the number but at the end of the day, the elastic base material is very much the same across most of these gloves, and each pair I've worn end up the same when wet. For example, just sliding your hand down a wet rail is enough to have to change them out. (reference my reference; I work on a gas plant)

      Hope that helps.

      • Thanks will give it a miss. What would you recommend?

        • Dare I say it….. But I don't wash too many dishes, but when I do, I do it like a man! Haha….

No, jokes aside, bare hands works fine for me. Can't help you there.

        • @db87: haha ouch. I meant what was the most water resistant one you've used?

        • @ZubatRingo: We don't, we just change them out or don't get them wet. We don't work in wet weather so it's only from touching structures that become wet after a storm, etc that ever destroyed our gloves.

You could always visit the hyflex website and see if they have any wet area specific gloves available.

Do these ones come with lube??

    "$3.75 each"

So this is one glove or a pair? Regardless too expensive.

What’s your glove budget top out at?

      • I just buy "mechanix "

Are these compatible with warm KY jelly? No particular reason I'm asking.

    • Just bought the last pair at Box hill VIC store. No sizes left. Damn you ozbargainers!

Ansell. So hot right now. Ansell.

  • Would these be good as mechanic gloves? I use the black nitrile ones usually, but they really are only single use and I don't feel like paying $4 in gloves to change my oil.

    • I just use disposable gloves to change my oil.

  • Great gloves.

I didn't realise they were so expensive… I use to get them from work.
