Coles Myer gift cards here we come!

    • What denomination?

      • +1

Well you'd make it $75, right?

        • But it has to be an actual plastic card right? In the Ts&Cs it says online gift cards are excluded. Do they charge a card fee (as with Westfield)?

        • +1

          @bozbargain: yes, no fee.

        • +1

          @bozbargain:

Yes, it will be an actual card.
No fees for Coles Myer cards.

      • Any.

        • Oh ok. Thought maybe they were set amounts like BP. Thanks.

    • +1

Can you spend Coles Myer gift cards at…* Coles?

      • Started feeling stupid typing at this point, but still do not knw
      • +1

        Yes

      • +2

Coles, officeworks, liquorland, coles express, target, kmart, myer, first choice

        • This is awesome. I happen to have a hundreds of dollars worth of myer vouchers, with nothing to buy there.
          You've made my day!

        • @idonotknowwhy: Are they Myer or Coles Myer though? There's a difference

        • +3

@idonotknowwhy: you can't spend myer gift cards at Coles et al.

        • @kerfuffle: Pure "Myer"
I was hoping Myer would sell me these "Coles Myer" giftcards, which I could then spend at Coles.

Or I'll just have to keep saving them up and get a mac lol. I just saw that Myer sell Apple.

        • @idonotknowwhy: They won't let you buy Coles Myer Gift Cards with Myer Gift Cards unfortunately.

        • -2

u can buy If u do not show what card you use for payment. Just hide in your hand and put code in like debit card . if they will see you using Myer card will stop you.
I have done that switch card before. Just try under experience employees. Good lluck.

        • +4

@Zonty: won't work. The gift card payment system is different to the eftpos

    • Upvote here we come?

  • +13

Not bad, all I have at present is some total shit from "Ultimate Beauty Lust List", La Mer online and "Build a bear"…hardly appropriate or useful for a blokey bloke in his 30s…

    • that makes two of us.

    • Nothing un-blokey about taking the kids or nieces/nephews to Build a Bear for Christmas. Expensive though!

    • Half the time I dun even know these stores existed or what they sell

  • +8

    Ninja where art thou?

    • +17

      It really looks targeted.

  • +2

Was excited until I noticed it was targeted.

  • +2

    Manual link?

  • +1

Noooooo I am not being targeted!!!

    • me neither… :(

    • +2

      I'll call the bikies.

      • Nooooooooooooooooo

  • -1

    Manual link please.

  • Can't see it in the link provided, nor when I log in to my account.

  • One (Amex Explorer Credit card) out of 3 of my cards got it.

    • Primary or supp?

      • Primary

    • +2

      My Amex explorer didn't. =(

      • yeah, neither. but Platinum Edge did for me.

      • Explorer and supps normally appear within minutes

  • platinum charge supps didn't get this offer. But platinum reserve and Qantas ultimate supps did.

    • No joy on my Plat. Reserve. So sounds totally random.

  • +2

Got it on my Velocity Escape but not on my DJs AMEX (not that I was expecting it ahahaha)

    • Not showing on my Velocity Escape. Maybe because I have hardly ever used the card at Myer. I may have once.

      • I've only had the card for a week; used it at DJs for the welcome offer and Virgin to book my flights.

  • None of my cards got this offer. Bummer.

  • came on both my explorer and CPA gold

    • Not on my CPA gold

    • Are CPA cards counted as Amex issued - as in next bonus points deal for plat edge etc one would be ineligible? Ta

      • +1

They are AMEX issued. I received it on my CA gold

  • +2

wont target to dj amx customers i guess

  • yeah, 2 platinum edge cards got that.

  • thanks op. my explorer got that

  • Got on all of my velocity escape and essential cards but not on Amex BMW

    • It is not, I been with Amex more than 3 years now

    • The AMEX welcome offer is for David Jones.

Source: Used it last week with my new Velocity Escape card.

  • Is there a way to be notified of these offers in real time?

    • +1

      Nevermind, found it.

      americanexpress.com > Profile & Preferences > Communication Preferences.

Pity it doesn't send SMS alerts though

  • hi folks

I have a supplementary card (Amex Qantas Discovery) with different number to the Primary one, will I be able to get $15 credit back using the supp card as well?
The Primary & Supp card are saved in 1 same account ID
Can anyone confirm this, please? Ta

    • +1

      Yep can confirm,
As long as the card numbers are different and you activate the offer on both cards.
Always works for me for various offers.

      • Thanks for your reply.
not sure how I can activate the offer on the supp card as I only have 1 ID login :(

        • +1

You would have to create a login for the second card as well.
Same process as the primary card I think.

        • +1

Sup cards are a separate login. Same process to activate the offer.

    • Two diff cards, two diff offers

you have to save the offer to your supp card as well.

if you only get it on your main card, you wont get any credit back from you supp card account.

      • yeah, will have to register login ID separately for the supp card as zonra said. Thanks mate

  • Got it on my Plat Edge. Thanks OP

  • Got it on my Essentials card, noice.

  • Got 3 Plat Edge in the house only one got the deal :(

  • Thanks! got it on my velocity card!

  • None on my 2 Essentials :(

  • I got targeted.

  • Got the offer on both my cards. Thanks :)

    • +7

They don't know what you're buying, just that you spent the money.

    • +5

AmEx has no way of knowing what you have purchased. You will be able to buy GC.

      • Not at Myer, but one other offer for $100 cashback at Harvey Norman went to buy a giftcard, and was told that if I pay with Amex during the promotional period they are required to charge a $100 fee for the giftcard - I tried to tell them I hadn't activated any offer for cashback (I had, but they wouldn't know that), and she apologized, but said they have no choice

        • +3

You should post that on the Harvey Norman facebook wall and see what they say about that $100 fee …

        • +1

I will do that, then go to fair trading.

        • That offer also said excludes apple but didn't stop me buying 4 pairs of airpods on 2 cards.

    • +3

Have bought gift cards in past and got credit.

    • Just brought a GC at Myers Store an hour ago, and an email comes within seconds.

      • +4

        did you bring it?

  • Not seeing it on either of my cards :-(

  • Discovery = 👍🏻

  • Do Myer have Apple Pay?

    • +1

They should. They definitely have Android Pay

    • +1

      yes they do.

    • +1

Yes - anywhere you can tap a contactlesss card will take Apple Pay (or Android Pay or Samsung Pay or Garmin Pay or Fitbit Pay…)

  • Got on my Qantas Discovery, but not Velocity Escape!

  • Just appeared on my explorers

  • +1

Hmm how to check bank issued Amex cards?

    • +1

      Not available

      • @sween64 Thanks
