739 positive votes for a pricing error and not a single neg? Move this to the forums.

    • +9

It's 740 positive votes plus 2 badges for me :)

    • +3

      Look at this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/334946

AO did not advertise it but they honoured the price. TGG advertised heavily on this promo and yet allowed the mistake to happen. How hard it is to do a test purchase? This shows how passionate someone is toward his/her job

And don't forget, some lucky ozbargainers managed to get $40 kitchenaid kettle from david jones

      • +4

I actually managed to get a number of the david jones 1 cent hats. We donated them to an age care home to a few gentleman who were stoked to get them. Another went to a boy with special needs who loved it and wasn't getting a lot for christmas last year. It can happen.

  • +1

People who went in at store opening and did a click and collect pick up! You won the Ozbargin 2018 bargain of the year award! It's been called for the whole year in advanced for your quick thinking and dedication to getting a bargain … In all seriousness, good work to those who got in with a click and collect early.

    • +4

until now we haven't see any successful proof been uploaded.

    • +1

Which users successfully picked then up? Nobody has said anything of the sorts in the comments. Where did you get that information from?

  • I got 3 emails confirming my order, and 1 PayPal confirmation of payment. I just got 2 cancellation emails, so I'm hopeful that I might still get my order.

  • I haven't gotten an email yet, checked junk mail and all. Has anyone else not got one yet?

    • I have not yet

      • What time did you order? I remember seeing the deal like 5-10 mins after it was posted and ordered it almost immediately. Probably just late in getting the email, so still probably not gonna get them sent to me.

        • I ordered just before midnight QLD .. my order was also just under $200 (got some gadgets to go with minis .. which will be a requested refund as i dont really need them without minis)
you will find your order is "backorder" so join me in expecting some form of communication tomorrow (maybe the generic email also today) talking about the mini's being a no go for $0

        • Ah right. I only paid the $8 for delivery like almost everyone else did. How can I check if my order is backordered, didn't sign up to TGG and only got email confirmation of order.

        • not sure, as I signed into my account before making order

  • As much as it's a stuff up on tgg side, I would be interested whether Google is pissed for stuffing up a promotion on their product like this

    • -2

I have been wondering whether it makes sense for Google to provide one per a customer. I mean Good Guys naturally doesn’t want to take the loss, but perhaps for Google it’d be worth the hit as a bit of a PR move that I imagine would ripple internationally via certain channels. They seem to be making a big push to get them into homes as is not only with advertising, discounts but also promotions such as offering one to Everydag Rewards customers that met a certain shopping threshold in November.

I don’t expect we’ll see anything, but the idea of Google providing units doesn’t seem totally crazy given it’s a relatively low cost item to begin with.

    • The Good Guys absolutely refused to sell me a Mini a day before launch despite me being told on the phone by a staff member that they were available, a nearby Telstra store having them out for sale, and them having been on sale in the US for about a week as they were so concerned over Google’s policy’s.

So I’d assume yeah, Google will be pissed.

  • +2

Got the same email as above from TGG, except they emailed me 7 times. I only ordered 2. Did anyone else get more than 1 email from them?

    • +2

Lol; sounds like glitches with the glitches. No; one email was enough for me. Maybe they will make a counter offer for those of us who wasted our time ordering.

    • +2

Yes. Only ordered once got two emails

      • +1

same here. maybe one email per mini. lol

I cannot believe they canceled my order of two Google home minis for free. Boooohhh!

    • 😭

  • +5

Didn’t get an email, didn’t get any google mini, didn’t place an order, did get a little sunburnt, did have a delicious lunch, did just open Ozbargain and see this post, did get a laugh.

      Gold HAHA.

  • Haven't had a cancellation email for my order. I ordered 2 minis and a sandisk usb stick delivered.

I created an account using the email address used to purchase, and order is still in there, "Confirmed", but with the following shipping info:

Shipping Address: The Good Guys Niddrie
    Shipping Method: Pickup

Niddrie?! Where?? Feel bad for the staff working OT to clean up this spillage.

    • Check your junk/promotions folder. My order confirmation was in the primary mailbox but the cancellation in the promotions.

    • Niddrie is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria. Near Essendon Airport DFO.

    • At the 2011 Census, Niddrie had a population of 4,876.

  • -1

I have/had 11 on order lol. Tried my luck with all three loopholes.

  • Is this the Best Deal that never was?

I recall that Lenovo incident from a couple of years back was quite infamous, but perhaps not as many votes?

    • +7

Qantas store Mac Pro. That was a nice one that never happened.

Also I always enjoy that someone calls the company behind the obvious pricing error to check it’s all being processed, simultaneously ensuring no one has any chance of getting it.

    • +1

well for at least for 1 person I saw who collected in store 6 mini's for $78, that's a win

    • +2

Aw man, I’m out of negs…

  • Instead of getting 2 Google minis, I got 2 cancellation emails

  • -3

    Neg vote this isn’t a deal it’s a price error…

    • Agreed. How are you getting downvoted? Why does this have 750+ votes? How is this not deleted or at least moved to the forums? It's a pricing error. There is no bargain here.

    • If it's not a deal why did you order? And at the same time neg vote?

  • +3

Still haven’t received any email about my 2 minis for $8 postage. Nothing in the junk box either

    • +1

That means you're getting it then.

  • +22

I don't get why some people are expecting an 'apology' and mentioning 'no $10 credit.' Come on guys, deep down we all knew we were trying to take advantage of a glitch. We all saw the 'artwork' advertising the price. It was a risk we were willing to take - sometimes it comes off, sometimes we get the deflating cancellation email. But TGG don't actually owe us anything. I thought the email was quite neutral, but I can imagine that some employees will really be feeling the heat.

    • +1

We can expect a refund, hence the $10 store credit.

      • +6

Yes, of course the refund, that goes without saying - including the $8 shipping. But I am referring to the $10 credit some people want as an apology of sorts. It's happened on here a few times before when people have found exploits or companies have been erroneous on their website. I recall luckily getting $20 credit once (from rebel I think??), fully aware that I had taken advantage of a loop hole. It goes both ways.

        • +1

i participated in this glitch because TGG is owned by JB Hifi and they did this sort of messup only a few months ago and made another mistake when refunding the participants. Bought 1 year PS plus for $34 when it should have been $48, they didnt go through the order like this one but granted store credit of $28 (48-34 = 14 should have been given) and also refunded the cash as well.

    • +1 from me

    • +1

Because those people suffer from the mentality of entitlement. They think they are god-send.

  • Users who ordered 3 for $78 (not 2 for free/small amount of $), did you also receive cancellation emails?

We just need to determine if all users had orders cancelled or not before moving to forums tomorrow as a price error (once all the details are known).

    Thanks in advance.

    • This may not be relevant, I ordered 2 delivered for $8, I have not received a cancellation email. I created an account after the fact with the same email address and nothing appears in my order history. Hope this helps in terms of facts.

    • I have ordered 3 for 78. But it is cancelled they email me with same message.

    • +1

I ordered 3 for $78 pickup and received the cancellation emails.

    • There were no Google Home Mini at the store. The lady told me they (the decision makers) might cancel the orders. I have 3 separate orders, received 1 email.

    • Also received ready to pick up email for 1 of the orders (for 2 ghm and 1 hairdryer), shortly after leaving the store. Called the customer service and they said "it's automated, we do not have ghm available right now". Ridiculous.

      • I wonder what would happen if you called and asked if they were in stock.

        • Auburn store hacmvestock but just not filling the orders

    • I ordered 2 and a sandwich press ($70) with delivery, they say status of order will be sent out Tuesday ….

Not sure what they mean about store being able to help as per the artwork ….. go into store ? but it does mention it's 2 for the price of 1 offer.

        NEEEGGGGGGG!!!!!!

    • No cancellation so far wooho!

Went on Good Guys website and Order status says 'Completed'. Hope luck will come and receive a pick up email tomorrow!

    • +1

I ordered 3 for $78 to pickup. Haven't got a cancellation email yet. I'm in SA, so the shops were shut today. Figure I'll get something tomorrow.

    • I recieved 4 emails having tried all 3 options.

    • 2 for $0 & 3 for $86 - both status showed as BackOrdered on TGG dashboard.

    • possibly a little different (two for zero plus $2 sim) - i purchased without providing an email address or logging in - paid using paypal and my details were uploaded from paypal, including email. got the email from GG and from paypal, and nothing since.

    • I received a cancellation- just want confirmation that they will refund my postage costs… def price error can send you email

    • Ordered 3 for $78 + deliverey. Got same cancelation email yesterday. Order doesn't appear in my Order History on the website.

    • I ordered 2 + Cleaning Cloth, no cancellation of order email for me yet.

  • I have ordered 3 for $78 click and collect, 2 for $8 delivery, haven’t received any cancellation emails for both.

    • +1

If your email is Gmail, the cancellation email is most likely in your promotions tab, that's where mine was located

      • +1

Yeah family got theirs in promotions but nothing for me yet.

      • Just checked, nothing found.

  • +7

Something to lighten to the mood since it looks like no one's getting the Google home mini -
    https://www.facebook.com/LADbible/videos/4331045546942602/?h…

  • Not sure if anyone else got this, but I got a call yesterday saying that they couldn't ship it to me but they would ship it at a later date due to stock quantities, said they'd honour the price.

    • +4

      What did you order?

      • 2 of the home minis and paid for the shipping like everyone else but seems I got lucky. I also ordered 2 more black minis and I still haven't received any emails or cancellations.

      • Also, here is a receipt I got from them today. It shows it as $0 for both GHM's but there's some cancellation fee for $0 there too, not sure what that means, since I didn't get an email saying it got cancelled, on top of the fact I got a call from them about my order being shipped to me when it's back in stock makes me think I actually got them for the $8 price.

I also have 2 more Google Home Mini's ordred (the black ones) in which I haven't gotten any emails at all about aside from the confirmation of order one. I didn't even get the one about how they made the pricing error and would send more information about the order on Tuesday (didn't get an email today either). Also no order status updates since either.

So I'm pretty sure I have 2 confirmed, and 2 unknown, but I have a little faith due to not getting the cancellation email.

        Link to image: https://i.imgur.com/c2LEtf1.jpg

        • Looks cancelled to me.

        • Yeah, looked that way to me too, but I'm just assuming for now it isn't since I did get a call from TGG yesterday saying they'd honour the price and ship it to me when stock was back.

        • @waysubsubway:

The Order Cancellation Fee line on that invoice means it's been cancelled by the store.

  • +5

Im just hoping they cancel the order as a whole. I ordered it with an extra item as i thought order wouldnt go through without it. I dont want the wipes and certainly dont want to pay $8 to have them shipped. Is there any contact number for these guys to confirm if the order will be completely canceled?

    • +20

You can always use the wipes to wipe of your tears.

    • -3

      live with it

      • +4

        Helpful replies guys.

    • it will. i ordered 2+simcard. went to store pickup. they won't even give me the sim. says order will be canceled.

  • +3

I received no cancellation email, went to collect them (GG Alexandria)and only received my 2 dollar SIM card. You win some, you lose some

  • Looks like the cancellation email costs $8 LOL.

  • +4

If they cancelled our order, shouldn't they refund the postage as well?

  • +1

I ordered 2 & paid delivery fee, recieved cancellation email, when I checked my account online, there is nothing shown about this order. so wait for my delivery fee to be refunded.
